149 Chapter 149: Is There Love That Will Last Forever?

It wasn't necessarily true, but at that moment, it did speak Nathalia's mind. "Even if it can't be forever, it's beautiful to experience love." Though she said it rather casually, she couldn't deny the bitter feeling inside. It was more of comfort she was saying to herself.

When one is in love, of course, they will want it to be forever and never separate from each other. However, is there permanent love? Is there love that will last forever?

When love fades away, and passion dies, what remains?

Nathalia was lost in her own thoughts as she picked up a glass of water and sipped unconsciously when Mrs. Davidson suddenly exclaimed, "Are you playing games with my son? You are not serious about it, are you? You are just looking for fun."

"What?" Nathalia spits out of the water instantly as she was completely shocked. "Mrs. Davidson, what are you talking about? I guess you overestimate me. Do you actually think I'm capable of fooling your son?" Where the hell did that come from? What is she thinking about? It's terrifying.

Mrs. Davidson glared at Nathalia as if she was an enemy. "Aren't I right? You flirt with him, but you don't want to be responsible. You are fooling him. Don't you try to deny."

For God's sake. What's in this woman's head? I can't argue with her anymore. There's no point. I give up. Nathalia thought to herself.

"I'm warning you. If you dare to take advantage of my son, I..." Seeing that Nathalia was silent, Mrs. Davidson grew angrier and went on with her accusation.

Nathalia couldn't take it anymore. She stood up, turned her back towards Mrs. Davidson, and walked out of the secret door as Mrs. Davidson yelled after her, "Hey! Where are you going? I haven't finished yet."

As the news that The Davidson Group wanted to buy The Tread went around the market, everyone kept an eye on The Tread, curious about how it would go.

Lisa had been feeling stressed, but she stayed strong and positive. Nathalia was spending most of her spare time helping at the company, yet, she couldn't think of a solution at the moment.

"Let's go for lunch now. We shall feed our tummy first." Nathalia suggested, trying to be a bit cheerful.

Lisa wore a frown and sighed, "What if we can't keep The Tread, what..." When your enemy was Curt Davidson, you knew it would not be an easy battle. Nathalia put her arms around Lisa and said gently, "We will try our best and leave the rest to God. If we can't keep The Trend this time, as long as we are still here and together, we can start again and even create something better."

At the end of the day, it's people that matter. They can take the company, but they can't beat us. Never.

Nathalia frowned and wondered what brought Anna here. Did she sneak out of her house? What does she want this time?

"Yes? What brought you here?" Nathalia replied in a casual tone.

In an expensive red dress, Anna lifted her chin up and looked at Nathalia with a confident smile, "I can help you solve your problem."

"We don't need your help. You won't be so kind as to help anyway." Nathalia rejected without hesitation.

Anna stroked her hair slowly as she watched Nathalia. "Don't rush. Why don't you listen to me first? Mr. Curt Davidson has money and power. He's good-looking, and women adore him. It will only do you good if you do what he says." Women were just like toys to Curt Davidson, a mere possession and usually temporary.

Nathalia wasn't upset or angry or annoyed. She said with a smile, "You seem to be jealous. Why? If you like, he's all yours. I won't fight with you."

"Nathalia Carter!" Though Anna had prepared herself to face Nathalia calmly this time, she was furious. "I can talk to Mr. Curt Davidson for you as long as you promise me that you will stop seeing Spencer..." She said a bit angrily while thinking that she had comprised a lot, and if it wasn't because of Nathalia, she would have got married to Spencer.

Nathalia shook her head hopelessly, not sure what else she could say. "You are so stupid, and you still don't understand."

"Nathalia Carter, watch your tongue. I'm doing you a favor here." Anna retorted furiously, thinking she should deserve gratitude instead.

Nathalia didn't really want to argue with Anna, but it seemed like she had to be a bit harsh to make her understand. "Anna, if you really want to do me a favor, please don't bother me again. Take your arrogance away with you and leave me alone."

The argument had gathered a group of people working at the same office building.

"Don't you talk to me like that. Spencer is away, and he won't be able to come back on time to help you..." Enraged and frustrated, Anna threatened.

Nathalia came up with an idea, and a sneer appeared on her face. "Hey, everyone, listen, this lady here wants to pay five million to buy a boyfriend. Is anyone interested? If so, please raise your hand."

The male spectators quickly raised their hands and shouted, "Me." "Me. I'm interested." Five million! I don't care if she's mental or not, it's five million! Of course. I'm interested.

Anna's face went pale. Her jaw dropped. "Nathalia Carter, are you crazy?"

Nathalia laughed, "Hahaha, why? Don't be shy. It's not the first time you pay to buy a boyfriend. Come, have a look and see who's the lucky man for you."

The men moved forward and gathered around Anna. Nathalia took the opportunity, grabbed Lisa's arm, and sneaked out. As she turned around to see the awkward Anna surrounded by the hungry-for-money men, she smiled triumphantly while thinking You asked for it.

Just then, Bang, Nathalia bumped into someone, and instantly, she apologized, "Sorry. Are you ok? I wasn't..." As she looked up, her voice froze.

Two seconds later, "Mr. Curt Davidson." she uttered.

"Ah." Lisa gasped. So this is the legendary man—the boss of the business field.

Wherever Curt made his appearance, he was dressed smart and perfect. "Nathalia, I had not expected you to be so cheeky."

It made Nathalia shiver. Somehow, the way Curt addressed Nathalia sounded extremely awkward to her.

"What a surprise, old grumpy Mr. Curt Davidson!" Nathalia said calmly.

Curt lifted his eyebrows, winked, and said in a flirtatious tone, "I would be happy if you don't call me old."

It gave Nathalia goosebumps, and she rubbed her arms quickly. "Mr. Curt Davidson, I'm just honest. You are old enough to be my grandfather." Obviously, what Nathalia was implying was that he was a shameless old pervert looking for young girls.

Curt's lips twitched. Fury was growing inside him.

Lisa was trembling nervously and pulled Nathalia behind her subconsciously, trying to protect her. Yet to her surprise, Curt didn't shout or appear angry. He took a deep breath and asked calmly, "Have you thought it over and decided?"

Nathalia stepped forward, looked at Curt, and said confidently, "Yes. I have. You will know very soon."
