150 Chapter 150: Must Be Proud Of Her

Curt watched her leave. He seemed to be in deep thoughts. The bodyguard suggested with an apologetic smile, "Mr. Davidson, don't you worry, I can just take her into the car if you'd like..." He didn't understand why Nathalia should be an exception, as this wasn't his boss's usual way of dealing with things.

Curt glared at the bodyguard coldly and said, "Don't you dare do anything unless I tell you so."

The bodyguard shivered and apologized immediately, cold sweat dripping down his back. Why is he treating this girl so differently? Why? I can't understand.

Sat in a beautifully elegant French restaurant, with delicious food around, Lisa still found it difficult to calm herself down. "Nathalia, I think Curt Davidson won't just let it go so easily." Finally, she voiced her concern. I can see it in his eyes. He's too demanding, and he doesn't give up easily.

Nathalia shrugged her shoulders and said casually, "No one can force me to do anything that I don't want to do."

After all that she had gone through, she had become a much stronger soul. Nothing could beat her.

Meanwhile, she had a rather strange feeling that despite how tough Curt appeared to be, he wouldn't treat her unfairly. She couldn't understand where the feeling came from, but she trusted her instincts as always.

The way Curt looked at Nathalia was unusual. It wasn't like passion or craving. It was as if he was looking for something from her. Could it be that Nathalia reminded him of someone he once loved? Alright, I must be overthinking. Lisa thought.

Frank Carter was dining with his new business partners. They had just gone through the last bit of the agreement and were having a toast to celebrate.

He had received a lot of praise and compliments from the media recently for his contribution to some charity work as well as the success of breaking into the European market.

Just then, the business partner seated opposite Frank said, "Mr. Carter, isn't that your daughter sitting over there? She's a beauty."

Frank knitted his brows, turned around to see Nathalia in a pretty red dress, chatting to Lisa cheerfully. Her manners were graceful and confident.

"Like father, like daughter. She's impressive." One business partner commented.

They had not expected someone so gentle and pretty-looking could be so determined, talented, and smart. She took back the 10% of shares of The Carter's Company, set up her own company, which was running exceptionally and exceedingly well. Who would expect an eighteen-year-old girl to achieve such a success?

"Your daughter is very talented, just like you, Mr. Carter. You must be very pleased." Another voice commented.

"Exactly. What a smart girl! You must be proud of her."

If it was Evette that people were complimenting, Frank would be very pleased to hear, but it was Nathalia, and he didn't feel good about it. In fact, he disliked it very much.

And people could tell. Frank wasn't very good at hiding it. The business partners exchanged looks and shook their heads slightly. "Mr. Carter, you and I have known each other for many years. I would like to be honest with you. I mean, what else do you want now that you have such an excellent daughter, who can definitely take care of the company in the future."

"Exactly. If I had a daughter like yours, I would be happy to retire now."

"Even though you are the father, you did make a mistake. Why not apologize and make it up? You have such a wonderful daughter. Why would you kick her out of the house?"

An annoyed look appeared on Frank's face. Why don't you all shut up? She's excellent, wonderful?! Bullshit.

One of the partners said half-jokingly, "By the way, Mr. Curt Davidson seems to be interested in your daughter, but your daughter doesn't seem to take much notice of him. It's interesting. Very interesting."

"Huh. I don't want to talk about such scandals. I have no idea what she's doing. She's a shame to the family." Frank retorted sternly.

"Well. I see it differently. Your daughter is so charming that even Curt Davidson is interested in her. It's a great compliment."

"If I were you, I would surely apologize to your daughter and make it up. In the future, there will be great benefits to gain."

Each of the shareholders was of great importance to the project, and Frank wouldn't like to displease any of them, though he was very much annoyed. What's wrong with these people? Why do they all like that little devil so much? I have to be careful.

"Nathalia? Come here." He turned around and demanded Nathalia.

Startled, Nathalia looked up and saw Frank. She frowned and wondered what was happening.

"Father, what a coincidence!" Nathalia replied as she walked over. In an elegant and confident manner, she greeted everyone politely.

Amongst the three Carter siblings, Evette Carter had the best look; Zack was the most spoiled while Nathalia was the most outstanding and excellent one. Though young, she had great potential, and it was easy to tell by her mannerism.

However, Frank suddenly scolded angrily, "Nathalia, what have you done? The Davidson father and son are fighting for you! What a shame you are bringing to the family again!"

The crowd stared in surprise. No one expected such a comment from a father to a daughter in public. This is shocking. He must hate his daughter.

People felt sympathy towards Nathalia, wondering it must be a tragedy to have a father like Frank. Yet, they were surprised to see that Nathalia wasn't annoyed at all. She said calmly, "Why did you call me over then? Why not stay away from me if I've brought shame to you."

"Nathalia, you..." Frank was enraged, his face red. His voice trembled. "Don't you know how to show respect to your father?! You think that someone's got your back and you can do whatever you want? Let me warn you, you can't trust men's promises. When they lose interest in you, they kick you away, and you will regret and cry."

How he wished he could give Nathalia a few slaps on her face. Right in front of all these business partners, she had made him ashamed and embarrassed. Yet, he would not realize that it was himself that started it, and it was himself that asked for it.

Nathalia lifted her chin up slightly as if in deep thoughts. She replied with a smile, "You Are speaking from your own experience. Of course. Thanks for warning me. But don't you worry, you won't see me crying."
