188 Chapter 188: Trivial Matter

Matt had pretty much guessed what it was about. "Sorry, Nathalia." He said apologetically. He knew very well what Nathalia was like, as well as his mother and Amy.

"It's alright. Let's forgive and forget." Nathalia answered softly.

"Thanks." The two talked like old friends, respectfully and understandingly.

Amy sensed the connection between Matt and Nathalia and became jealous. She felt a sense of fear and insecurity. "Matt, they hit your mother! They should apologize instead. Why are you saying sorry to her? Who is she?" She questioned anxiously and angrily.

The way he looks at Nathalia Carter is different. Does he seem to have feelings for her? Am I oversensitive?

Nancy was angry with Matt for his way of talking to Nathalia as well. "Matt, what the hell are you doing? I'm your mother. I should be the one you care about." What's happened to my son?

Matt felt rather annoyed and upset, thinking, ever since that night, mum has changed into a different person, like someone that I don't know at all.

"Mum, it's just a dress. Why do we have to make a big deal of it? Let me take you to the hospital. Come." Matt persuaded gently.

"No! They have to apologize to me! Now!" Nancy roared.

It hurt Matt to see his mum behave like this. "Mum, what changed you? You didn't use to be like this?" She used to be gentle, kind, and loving, but ever since that night, she had changed completely. Dramatic and demanding and even insolent. If she keeps behaving like this, she's pushing people close to her away from her.

Matt's words provoked his mother, and she said pathetically, "What changed me? What's the use of being gentle and kind when I can't have my husband's love, nor my son's support?"

Curt hasn't visited since long ago, and there is always news about him having a young mistress somewhere. Matt is rarely home either. He just works and works. He doesn't even care about me anymore. It's so lonely, living in a house with the absence of my husband and my son.

She grew more and more emotional as she spoke. Matt found it unpleasant to listen to. "Ok, mum. Enough. Dad won't be happy to hear you talk like this." Dad used to visit weekly, but since the incident last time, he had never visited. Mum sees him as the most important person in her life. It must have been a shock to her.

Matt felt sorry and sad for his mother, but he had tried to talk to her every way he could. Nancy wouldn't listen.

Tears ran down her cheeks, and she went on, "So what? He's not coming home anyway. I'm so alone..."

Nathalia was surprised to see how Nancy complained. Wow, I didn't expect that.

"Alright, mum. What's the point in complaining in public? Let me take you to the hospital, or let's go home." He interrupted.

Nancy turned sulky, hearing what Matt said, "No. I need an apology. This is unfair." while thinking, my son is not supportive at all.

"I agree with Nancy." Amy jumped in to help, "This is an insult to the Davidsons and to us."

It didn't help to make Matt feel supportive of them, and it irritated Mrs. Davidson. She looked at them, icily, "The Davidsons? What has the Davidsons got to do with this? Are you a member of the Davidsons? Are you? You?" She pointed at each of them as she said rather aggressively.

It was only till now that Matt noticed Mrs. Davidson. Her eyes wide open, staring at him.

"Who are you to talk to us like this? Insolent, ignorant woman!" Amy retorted, pointing back at Mrs. Davidson.

The bodyguard had just walked in to hear Amy. "Our madam is Mrs. Davidson, Mr. Spencer Davidson's mother, Mr. Curt Davidson's wife. Don't you dare insult, Mrs. Davidson?" He couldn't help shouting back at Amy, proudly.

It shocked everyone instantly, especially Nancy, Amy, and the shop assistant. Their jaws dropped. The wife meets the mistress!

"What?!" Amy exclaimed in disbelief.

"She's his first wife?" Nancy muttered. She almost fainted. After twenty years, she had now finally met Curt's first wife, the beautiful, elegant, respectful, and noblewoman that everyone talked about. She couldn't help comparing herself with her.

Nancy felt challenged, threatened. She couldn't match Mrs. Davidson's beauty nor confidence.

She's beautiful, excellent. Why did Curt Davidson leave her? People wondered.

"She's Spencer's mother?" Matt muttered. He had only seen her once briefly, but he could see the similarities between her and Spencer.

Nathalia sighed and wondered what was going to happen now. She had tried her best to prevent this from happening, but what was meant to be would be.

"Now, who are you?" Mrs. Davidson had her chest up and lifted her chin. She demanded.

Amy looked at Nancy, then Matt, and didn't know what to say, "I'm er...We..." If I had known! Why did I come into this shop?! Shit!

"Call the lawyer. I'm going to sue them for claiming to be the Davidson family, damaging our reputation." Mrs. Davidson said angrily, yet reasonably.

Nancy and Amy didn't know what to say, especially Nancy, who was terrified, enraged as well as jealous.

Nathalia interrupted softly, "It's only trivial. I know you are very forgiving. Let's just let them off this time, shall we?"

However, Mrs. Davidson had her mind set up. "Trivial? Not at all. Didn't you hear what they said? The Davidsons. Huh. How dare they claim themselves to be a Davidson?! Swindlers." Her tone allowed no objection.

I never boast to people about who I am. Who are these ignorant people, claiming to be our family members? It's a shame to us, especially to my son. I won't tolerate it. Mrs. Davidson thought.

Nancy felt utterly embarrassed and blushed terribly.
