189 Chapter 189: Too Ambitious

Mrs. Davidson glared at Amy. You were yelling at us arrogantly just then.

"We are a family? Who says so? You, shameless bitches, are not my family." What a ridiculous person! I like the dress so much, and she just tore it! Outrageous!

The word 'bitch' ignited the anger inside Nancy. She burst with anger, forgetting all the embarrassment, and yelled at Mrs. Davidson in a mocking tone, "Hmm. You call yourself Mrs. Davidson. Don't you remember that you were abandoned?! Curt left you!"

Nancy had never met Mrs. Davidson before, nor had she heard Curt mention her. She only knew that they didn't get along well and rarely saw each other. She despised Mrs. Davidson, thinking that she was abandoned and unloved, that she wasn't able to keep her husband.

Also, she had her son, whom Curt loved and was her trump in the game.

"Mum! You shouldn't have said that!" Matt exclaimed, appalled.

She's a bloody mistress! How can she sleep with someone's husband and insult them? She's even proud of herself! How ridiculous! Nathalia thought.

To everyone's surprise, Mrs. Davidson didn't look upset at all; instead, she retorted confidently, "I'm the abandoned one? Huh. What are you then? A mistress! A shameless bitch, sleeping with others' husbands. And! Look at you, you are probably the oldest mistress I've seen. Anyway, my husband has got plenty of women. He's just having fun. You are one of the many, and surely the least favorite."

"Shut up. I'm Curt's real partner. We have a son!" Nancy snapped. She held onto Matt's arm as if that was her only support.

The shop assistant gasped. So Matt is Curt Davidson's illegitimate son. No wonder people say he comes from an influential family.

Matt blushed instantly. He felt so awkward that he wished he could run away.

Mrs. Davidson glanced at Matt indifferently and said, "Ha. Curt probably has kids with other women too, but all illegitimate."

Nathalia could see the pain on Matt's face. He was hurt. What can we do? It's not our fault. We can't choose our parents. She thought.

The word 'illegitimate' was like a slap on Nancy's face. She rebutted, "Matt is Curt's favorite son! He's going to inherit the family business!" Curt surely prefers Matt to Spencer. Even if my son is illegitimate, he can still inherit the business.

"Nonsense. Do you even want to steal our family business? Ridiculous. You know what, talking to you is just a waste of my time." Mrs. Davidson sneered. "Nathalia, let's go." She grabbed Nathalia's hand, turned around, and walked to the door with her chin up.

Matt watched Nathalia leave, ashamed of himself and his mother. Why did she have to see me like this?

"Mum. It's enough. Stop. Don't you feel ashamed at all?" Matt finally said.

"Quick. Call your dad. Ask him to explain. Why are her son, the heir, and not mine?!" Nancy yelled angrily, tears in her eyes, "If you don't call him, I will!"

Suddenly, Mrs. Davidson, who was just opening the door to leave, turned around and said sternly, "As long as I live, no, even after I die, you will never, ever, be part of the Davidsons." Who do you think you are? Little bitch. Too ambitious.

Just then, Spencer came marching to them. "Mum, Nathalia. Are you two, ok? What happened?" He asked worriedly, panting slightly, catching his breath. Aren't they just going shopping? What could have happened?

Nathalia tilted her chin towards the shop. Spencer followed her indication and saw Nancy and Matt looking at them. How the hell did they meet them here? His first reaction was to take his mother away. He quickly turned around, holding his mother's arm, and was about to leave, but Nancy shouted from behind, "Spencer, now that you are here, you should at least say hello to your brother. Your dad will be pleased.", and that changed Spencer's mind.

Nancy had seen how terribly Spencer and his father get along, and she was sure that it would provoke Spencer just to mention his father.

Brother? Huh. A sneer appeared on Spencer's face. He said icily, "I don't have any brothers." He never paid attention to Nancy as he never thought she was worth his time. However, Nancy seemed to think rather highly of herself.

Her face lit up as she thought that was a good sign that she had succeeded in provoking Spencer, and she went on, speaking with the attitude of a senior, "Spencer, that's not a nice thing to say at all. Your dad would be so upset if he heard you say so."

Matt glared at his mother, angrily, implying that she should shut up. Spencer isn't someone that anyone wants to upset. Even dad can do nothing about him. Mum is acting stupid now.

However, Nancy ignored Matt completely, having her mind set up to win the argument. She had not thought about the fact that the public knew the Davidsons had only one son, Spencer Davidson, and had no idea of the relationship between Matt and Curt.

Spencer glanced at Nancy icily and said, "My father has never mentioned any of this nonsense, including you and any siblings I have. I'm the ONLY CHILD of the Davidsons.", with extra emphasis on the words 'only child'.

"Not. That's not true. That's impossible." Nancy exclaimed in disbelief.

"Why don't you ask Mr. Curt Davidson and see what he says? You are not the only one who comes to the Davidsons, claiming to be part of the family, but has the great Mr. Curt Davidson ever admitted them? I don't think so." Spencer said matter-of-factly, wearing a contemptuous smile.

Those words sent Nancy speechless. Defeated, frustrated, she looked at Matt, hoping to seek some support, but only to be more disappointed.

"Mum, shall we take you to the doctor's, and we will get dinner afterward? Next time, just send the bodyguard, and he will take care of it. These people don't worth your time." Spencer said gently to his mother.

"Yes. Whatever you say, I shall follow." Mrs. Davidson nodded with a smile. That's my good boy. She thought proudly.
