192 Chapter 192: It’s Beautiful

Spencer smiled with joy, the joy of contentment. "Finally, we have got Mrs. Davidson. You will always be mine now."

"Is it really an heirloom?" She still couldn't fully believe it. It seemed too casual. I'm not married to Spencer yet, but I'm given such an important bracelet. It's beautiful.

Spencer watched Nathalia as she gazed at the bracelet. He saw the sparks in her eyes, the smile on the corners of her lips, the light on her cheeks. He could feel his heart beating faster. He pecked a kiss on her head and whispered to her ear, "It is. It's as real as my love for you."

It made Nathalia shiver with a pleasant and passionate sensation. As she turned her face towards him, he welcomed it with a kiss on her lips.

The annual Carter's company shareholder conference was coming soon. Annual reports and new plans were to be announced, but there was still not a president or CEO. The shareholders, as well as the staff, were anxious, including Nathalia.

The company belonged to the family and what was more important to Nathalia was that it was her grandfather that started it. It meant a lot to her. She valued the shares that her grandfather left her. She would like to have the company survive and grow through generations, but she didn't have much time. For now, as long as she lived, she would protect the company.

After some discussion amongst the shareholders, an agreement was made that a meeting among the shareholders would be held, and it would be announced publicly. All the shareholders were informed, including the mysterious man who bought Frank's shares.

On the day of the meeting, Nathalia was up ready. She put on an ivory suit, a subtle touch of make-up, and a pair of pearl earrings, with her hair up. Elegant, smart, and exquisite.

The driver had been waiting at the gate when Nathalia got ready. Spencer couldn't make time to accompany Nathalia, but he had arranged a driver and two of his best bodyguards for her.

When they arrived, the meeting room was almost buzzing. Nathalia glanced around before going in. Pretty much everyone had arrived.

Nicolas caught sight of Nathalia first and instantly beckoned Nathalia to sit next to him. Nathalia obeyed. "Nathalia, do you know who the new shareholder is? He or she is coming to the meeting, right?" Nicolas asked impatiently after the causal greeting.

Everyone stopped talking and turned to look at Nathalia, waiting for her answer.

Nathalia smiled and said, "I don't really know. I've heard that it's a megacorporation from Europe. What about you? Have you got any ideas?" That was all the information Spencer could gather after putting a great amount of effort. They couldn't find a clue who it was.

"Who would have thought?"

"How did they know?"

They complained and questioned. It was almost time for the meeting, and the mysterious shareholder had not arrived yet. The shareholders grew more impatient and angry.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. The secretary announced formally, "It's the new shareholder."

The secretary stepped aside, and in walked a tall, handsome figure. He carried an air of gentleness and elegance. Normally people would be amazed by his good look, but when the shareholders realized who it was, they gasped and murmured.

Nathalia was astonished, her eyes wide open. "It's you?!" She exclaimed.

Ben smiled, nodded, and waved to everyone gracefully. "Good morning. I'm Ben Johnson, the representative of the new shareholder. Here is the authorization letter. Please take a look if necessary."

Nicolas took the letter immediately, and everyone gathered around him. How can it be possible? Who is the new shareholder? Why is this guy the representative?

Frank Carter got him in prison, and now he just shows up in Carter's company meeting as the representative of the biggest shareholder, while Frank Carter has lost everything and gone missing. This doesn't make sense.

The shareholders asked their questions, but Ben seemed oblivious to them. He kept his eyes on Nathalia.

"Miss Nathalia Carter. Nice to see you again." He walked towards Nathalia and said with a smile.

Nathalia sneered and said, "You are such a good parasite. You die-hard, don't you. You must have been extremely lucky. I wonder how much longer luck will stay on your side."

He is supposed to be in prison, what a joke life plays sometimes!

"I will be watching you," Ben said as he looked at Nathalia steadily.

Is he challenging me? Is it a threat? Nathalia sat up with her back straight. "Let's see what's the best you can do," she replied confidently and indifferently.

The two looked at each other as if they were in a battle, and both were ready to withdraw their swords.

The shareholders studied the letter carefully, hoping to find mistakes and hope, but were disappointed. No one wanted to accept such a change. No one wanted Ben Johnson in the room.

Richard asked courteously, "Mr. Johnson, can you please tell us who the new shareholder is and why can't he attend the meeting himself?" and thought, why did the new shareholder assign Ben Johnson, possibly the worst choice in the world, as the representative? What is his or her intention? Is it a good intention or hostile?

Ben realized that he could not keep ignoring the shareholder's questions. He replied with a pretentious smile, "I'm afraid I can't tell you, however, as I'm the sole representative, I can decide everything for the shareholder. Now the most important and urgent thing to do is elect a new president and CEO, solve the problems the company is facing now, and move forward."

Though the stock price had dropped drastically overnight due to the horrific news of Carter, the company had a solid base, and with the help of the mysterious buyer, it would not collapse so easily.

As soon as the problem was raised, the shareholders' attention was diverted from Ben Johnson to the practical issues for now. It got everyone thinking. Nicolas broke the silence first, "The Carter's Company has the ritual of having the same individual as the CEO and president, but considering the current situation the company is in now, I suggest we should have two individuals hold the two positions respectively.
