202 Chapter 202: See How Loyal I Am To You

"Huh. As I'm a very forgiving person, I will let you off this time then." Nathalia said proudly, with her chin up.

"Yes, yes, yes. You are. I have to say that I've behaved very well, though." Spencer enfolded her in his arms and stroked her hair gently. "You know, ever since we got together, I've not met any other girls, and I don't want to force you to make love with me. You see how loyal I am to you."

Spencer's honesty brought a blush to Nathalia's cheeks. She tapped his chin tenderly as she teased, "Of course you have to be loyal to me. If you ever cheat on me, I won't see you again. Huh."

Spencer turned around and had Nathalia under him. He kissed her passionately. "You are mine, and always will be. I'm going to kiss you and make love to you till the last day I live. Haha."

Nathalia's face turned rosy red. She giggled cheerfully as she tried to dodge his kisses.

"And now I want to make love to you again." Spencer grinned cheekily.

They had been through so much to be able to be together finally. They were inseparable, spending as much time together as possible. Anyone could tell they were deeply in love.

Even Mrs. Davidson would tease them now and then, saying she was jealous, though deep down, she was probably the happiest for them. Sometimes, she would even excuse herself to give them more privacy.

As soon as Nathalia had fully recovered, she wanted to get back to university and catch up with her study. She put on a white T-shirt and pale blue jeans, combed her hair, and had it tied up in a bun. The mirror showed a glowing, radiant face, young and beautiful.

In a jolly mood, she went downstairs only to see Spencer sitting on the sofa. He didn't go to work today?

"Spencer?" There was no response.

"Spencer?" she called out louder. Still no response. What's the matter? What is he thinking about?

She went and sat next to him. "Spencer, what are you thinking about?" Spencer then noticed her presence. Naturally, he embraced her in his arms, kissed her forehead, and said gently, "Good morning, babe. Would you like to stay at home for a few more days? It'd be better if you didn't go to class today."

Nathalia knitted her brows. "What happened?"

Spencer had learned how stubborn Nathalia was, so he explained patiently, "I'm a bit worried as we still don't know who it is, where they are. It's like we are standing in the light, and the enemy is hiding in the dark, watching us..."

Knowing that there was someone out there trying to kill Nathalia and not being able to find out whom and where made him worried terribly.

Considering the power and influence the Davidsons had, it was frighteningly surprising that they hadn't been able to find out who did it.

My birthday's coming soon. Somehow I can still feel that something's going to happen, that I haven't passed the challenge yet. I don't want him to worry too much either.

Spencer had the same feeling. He cuddled Nathalia tighter as if he was scared to lose her. We are finally together now, but somehow I keep worrying about losing her.

"Do you regret it?" Spencer asked suddenly.

Nathalia was a bit taken aback at first, but she answered confidently. "No. I don't. I've done what I wanted to do. I believe in Karma. If I've done anything wrong, I'm willing to accept whatever comes to me. I'm not scared." If things are meant to happen, they will happen. Worrying won't help.

Seeing her radiant face, Spencer smiled and confessed, "I'm scared." The more he cared, the more scared he felt. He had never been so worried about losing someone. He would do anything he could to keep her safe.

A sense of bittersweetness filled Nathalia's heart. She managed to keep the smile on her face as she comforted him by teasing, "Has my brave Spencer turned to a timid little chicken? There's nothing to be scared of."

He pecked a tender kiss between her eyebrows. "I'm scared of losing you. Terribly scared." His voice was trembling.

Love was bittersweet. It could bring insecurity and fear, the fear of losing the one you loved. It mattered not who you were or what you were, when in love, everyone was equal, and the bitterness was inevitable.

Nathalia buried her head in his embrace. "Spencer. I understand." She said softly. She was scared too, scared to lose what took so long and so much to gain, scared to lose such precious happiness, scared that death would tear them apart.

A sudden sorrowful feeling enveloped his heart. "Promise me that you will take care of yourself and be safe." He sounded almost like he was pleading.

It brought tears to Nathalia's eyes. "I promise. But we never know what fate has planned for us, and accidents are inevitable. If..." She meant what she was saying, and that was why she believed in living in the moment, doing what she enjoyed, and being with whom she loved.

Spencer glared at her and snapped, "Don't be silly. Fate is in our own hands. We control our fate, our life. We can't just simply accept whatever happens. We fight. We choose. We decide our own life."

Nathalia was astonished to see how serious and passionate Spencer was. I've probably influenced him. He sounds like me now. She thought.

To ease the tension and his worries, she pecked a little kiss on his face. "Yes, you are right—my clever Spencer. Come on. Don't be so serious, please. Smile for me." She chirped.

Spencer laughed and felt much better. "Cheeky thing."

Nathalia grinned, "There he goes. My handsome smiley Spencer."

"But seriously, Nathalia, you are everything to me. I can't allow anything to happen to you." Spencer said sincerely.

Tears ran down her cheeks. He's the only one that has ever said these words to me. She looked into his eyes and replied emotionally, "For you, I will fight against fate."

Spencer frowned, now his turn to be surprised by Nathalia's seriousness. "Now, you sound really serious." He tapped her lips affectionately.

Though she could feel a heavyweight on her heart, she disguised it perfectly. "Aha, got you. I was just joking." She pushed him down, playfully, and sat on his tummy.

"Cheeky thing. You attacked me. How dare you..."

Ben asked to meet Nathalia. As it was for work's sake, Nathalia agreed.

The scent of coffee greeted Nathalia's nose pleasantly. She held her chin with one hand, elbow on the table, and watched Ben, who was seated opposite her, emotionlessly.

Ben was in good spirits. It seemed like he had been doing well. He handed Nathalia a gold plated invitation card.

Nathalia opened it casually. Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed the date. "The induction ceremony is on the 15th? Who set the date?" How can it be so coincidental? Is this fate?

It was her birthday.

She looks a bit strange. Ben wondered. "I did. Why?"

"Why the 15th?" Nathalia asked icily, and her eyes fixed on him. What does this mean? Is it pure coincidence? Or is it intentional?

Ben was confused. He could sense that Nathalia cared about the date, and he tried to guess what it was about, but he didn't show it. He noticed the four tall and muscular guys seated next to the table. They were Nathalia's bodyguards.

"It's a good date. Why do you want to change it? I just thought the date didn't matter too much. We have already sent the invitation. It might be a bit inconvenient to change the date..."

"Alright. The 15th is fine." Nathalia took a deep breath and agreed. If it's meant to happen, then I will just have to fight it.

As soon as Spencer got home, he noticed that Nathalia looked worried. He lifted her off the sofa, sat down, and put her on his lap. "What's the matter, babe? Tell me what happened. I'm here for you." He said softly.
