219 Chapter 219: Will You Let Me Live?

Anne swayed the knife around, looking very pleased with herself. "How are you feeling now? Huh? What is it like feeling helpless, seeing the end of your life? Why don't you beg me? Huh? I might let you live." Anne felt a sudden sense of excitement, the victorious feeling of being the one in charge again.

I've suffered so much, all because of this bitch! She thought as she recalled the past glory days when she was the respected Mrs. Carter that everyone would fight to flatter. The more she thought about it, the more she hated Nathalia, and the more she wanted to torture her.

She grabbed some of Nathalia's hair and cut it off. "How about shaving your head and slicing your face? It must be fun." She laughed as she dropped the hair in front of Nathalia. It drifted down to the darkness and disappeared.

On hearing so, Nathalia grew stiff. Psycho! A gust of wind blew and brought Nathalia swaying. Her hair was a mess, just like how she was feeling. Beg you? Will you let me live? Hahaha. What a joke!

She refused to give up, just like she always did. "I'm not scared of dying. You know what, this is what you are capable of doing, playing such childish games. No wonder you've lost. I hope you've realized your incapability. When you chose to sleep with my father and kill my mother, you should have known Karma would come to find you."

Nathalia's words somehow triggered something in Anne, and she turned furious. "Karma?! I only did what I wanted to do. What's wrong with wanting to change my own life? What's wrong with wanting to be with a successful man? Huh?"

I'm better looking; I'm smarter; I'm better in every way, but I wasn't lucky enough to be born in a rich family. Why can they wear nice clothes, enjoy all the fortune they want while I can only be looked down upon?!

She retorted loudly and self-righteously.

Nathalia sneered and said, "There's nothing wrong in wanting a better life, but not at the cost of someone's life. When you hurt others, you are sowing the seed of sins. You are in debt, a debt that must be paid off. What I've done was just making you pay."

Nathalia's tone was calm, but the effect of her words was like a bolt of lightning cutting through Anne's mind. Is it true? Anne questioned herself. No! No! Impossible. And quickly dismissed her doubt. "Bullshit! I never regret what I've done...Never!"

Her voice quivered. There was fear. Is it true? Does Karma exist?

Nathalia could hear the doubt in her voice, and she added, "What you've done has brought you to what you are now, and your kids. Your daughter and son now have to pay for you. You are the one to blame. You are the one that's asked for it. You are the one that deserves punishment."

"My spirit will come back and haunt you forever. I will get revenge." Nathalia said, threateningly. Her voice was so cold that it made Anne shiver.

Somehow Anne changed her mind, holding the knife up, her face looking maliciously excited, and all of a sudden, she slapped Nathalia on her face with her other hand.

She laughed as she went on slapping hard. "Hahaha. I'm not scared of spirits! I can kill you, and I can kill your spirit. I'm going to slap you so hard that no one can recognize your face!"

Though she claimed that she wasn't afraid, it was actually fear that turned her hysterical. Her eyes were red with rage. A voice in her head kept telling her, "Kill Nathalia Carter! Kill Nathalia Carter!"

I'll revenge on you, for all the pain we have gone through because of you!

Nathalia's face was burning with pain, and it quickly turned bruised and swollen, but she didn't cry or utter a sound. She could feel her head heavy, her face burning, yet she refused to feel weak.

Spencer should realize that things have gone wrong by now. Please come find me. Please. She prayed.

After a while, Anne finally stopped slapping Nathalia from tiredness. She sat leaning on the railing, a vicious smile on her face.

Death was coming closer and closer. Nathalia once again felt the helplessness of not being able to fight, not being able to live. A sudden feeling of regret gripped her heart. I shouldn't have said yes to him just then. I shouldn't have.

If this is meant to happen; If I knew, I would have avoided meeting him in the very beginning. I would have stopped him from falling in love.

How is he going to live when he sees my body fall from the 28th floor? How much pain is he going to go through?

These thoughts brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't bear to imagine the pain Spencer had to suffer from.

Anne lifted the knife up again. Just as she was about to strike, a sudden violent sound echoed in the dark and empty rooftop. Bang! The door was pushed open fiercely.

"Anne Carter, stop!" It was a screaming voice of terror and anger.

It awakened Nathalia instantly. "Spencer." She uttered feebly. He's here finally. Tears streamed down her face.

Astonished, Anne turned to look at Spencer and still holding the knife in her hand, and she threatened, "Don't come close, or I will cut the rope, and she will be dead." She was panicking, thinking shit! I got found out! It's Spencer Davidson. I will be in trouble.

Spencer froze, his face pale, his heart aching. He dared not move any farther. It was just a few minutes' time. I should have gone with her. He regretted it terribly.

He had been so cautious and prepared so much. He had been watching the suspicious ones all night, yet never had he suspected Anne was sneaking in dressed as a cleaner.

Anne was actually scared of Spencer. Encountering him in person was the last thing she wanted. She had not expected that he would find out so soon.

"Spencer Davidson, there is plenty of fish in the sea, you know, lots of great women in the world, why get yourself stuck with this one..."

Spencer was looking right at Anne as he stated, "Listen. I will say it once and once only. If anything happens to Nathalia, I swear to God that you and your son and daughter will die miserably." His voice demanded no questions but only obedience.

He meant what he said. He had already decided that whatever it would cost, he would take revenge on Anne and her children.

If the Davidsons wanted to get rid of a few lives, it was a piece of cake.

Anne was shaking. She wasn't prepared for this. She tried to calm herself down and think.

"Don't you dare? I only need to cut this rope, and she will be gone if you want to save her, sure, money. Exchange her life with all your money." She was rambling, uncertain of what to do. However, there was one thing that she was sure to kill Nathalia Carter. As long as she's alive, we can't have a good life.
