220 Chapter 220: You Have To Live

Worries and thoughts bombarded her head. She couldn't think of a solution.

Spencer answered instantly, "Sure. I promise you I will give you all my money as long as Nathalia is safe." Nothing mattered compared to Nathalia's life.

Money was just a number. With the capability Spencer had, he could make money easily. Even if he had to start from scratch, he would still be able to build a business empire within a few years.

However, there was only one woman that he loved, and he could not risk losing her.

Nathalia heard what he said and thought he meant what he said. She was in tears.

However, Anne was taken aback. She sneered in disbelief, "Do you think I'm an idiot? Promise? Huh. I'm not that naïve..." Nothing is more important than money! Nothing! She thought, without money, there's no dignity, no fame, no luxury. It's horrible to work so hard just to survive.

Spencer kept his eyes on the rope, his heart racing, his mind spinning, trying to figure out what he should do. Suddenly, he noticed something, dashed into the dark corner, and dragged out a fancily dressed woman.

It was Nancy. She had been hiding in the dark watching. Spencer looked at her resentfully and kicked at her calf. "Was it you that sent the bodyguards away?! How dare you!"

I have underestimated these women. He regretted it terribly. And Nathalia has to suffer because of my mistake.

Terrified, Nancy's face turned pale. She was shaking as she answered, "No, no, I didn't. I..." she muttered nervously. Shit, shit. It's all over. Curt will never forgive me. What should I do?

Spencer himself was actually panicking as well. He was trying hard to stifle the rage in him and dared not act rashly. "If anything happens to Nathalia, you two won't live, neither will your sons!" He said threateningly. His tone was one of hatred, extreme hatred.

On hearing so, Nancy panicked and immediately shouted at Anne, "Anne Carter. Stop this. I don't want to die." She knew Spencer well enough that he meant what he said. She had seen how he treated his own father, and surely he would not let her and her son off.

Anne herself was also panicking, struggling to make a decision on the next move. She had kept the knife right on the rope, ready to cut it.

"Useless. You just can't manage. No wonder Curt Davidson left you." Anne yelled back at Nancy.

Enraged by her comment, Nancy exclaimed angrily, "Shut up! Just get her back up now. I don't want to die."

Sweats were dripping down Anne's forehead. "You shut up! Don't you dare tell me what to do! Spencer Davidson, you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You will never understand our pain..."

Nathalia Carter has made us suffer so much! I have to get revenge! Even if I let her live this time, Spencer Davidson will kill me anyway.

That made her decide.

She lifted the knife and swung it at the rope.

Spencer saw it coming, and without hesitation, he dashed forward. Fortunately, the knife went down at the side of the rope and didn't cut it thoroughly.

Anne raised the knife up again, ready for a second attempt, but Spencer just kicked at her wrist on time. The knife went flying off the balcony. Anne lost balance and fell over.

Just then, the rope broke, Nathalia felt a sudden lightness of falling. Everything went blank. Is this the end?

However, the feeling stopped as quickly as it appeared. Spencer had just managed to grab the rope. He was terrified. "Nathalia, give me your hand." He reached the other hand towards Nathalia.

Nathalia could feel her heart pounding so fast as if it would pop out at any moment. Her body froze for a second before she could react and slowly lifted her hand up towards Spencer's. Her hand was shaking.

Spencer grabbed it tight. Her hand was so cold that it made his heart ache. "Hold on, babe. I've got you. I've got you. I will get you up here. You're safe."

He had got her. Luckily. Luckily it wasn't too late!

All of a sudden, Nancy, who had been left aside, came up with a malicious idea. She ran to Spencer and pushed him from behind, yelling, "I'm going to kill you, too!"

Spencer was completely focused on Nathalia. He ignored the pushing and kept pulling Nathalia up, one hand holding the rope, the other Nathalia's hand.

Nancy pushed harder, kicked and punched, ferociously. The sudden change in her had shocked everyone. Nathalia shouted at her, "Are you mad? Aren't you scared of Spencer's father? What if he finds out?"

Is she trying to kill Spencer for the heritage? What a vicious woman!

Nancy thought there was no way back now, but she was too weak to do it on her own, so she shouted at Anne, who was still in a daze.

"Come, help me! As long as they are both dead, then no one could be in our way! We can get back what we had..."

It was like an alarming awakening Anne suddenly. She looked around, picked up the bat, and hit as hard as she could at Spencer's back.

Spencer leaned forward at the sudden attack and pain, but he quickly steadied himself, his hands still holding the rope and Nathalia's hand tight.

"Spencer, watch out! Let go of me. Let go." Nathalia sensed the danger approaching Spencer, and she shouted at him demandingly.

He has to let go of me to protect himself. He's in danger.

How could Spencer let go? It was the woman he loved the most. He had just proposed to her and promised he would look after her all her life.

"No. I'm not letting go. Never." He said calmly.

He couldn't bear the thought of not being able to see her again, the thought of living this life without her.

Tears streamed down Nathalia's face. She sobbed, her heart in stabbing pain. "Please, Spencer. I was meant to die, but not you. You have to live. Please, let go. I want you to live in."

If this is what fate has decided for me, I'm willing to accept it. I don't complain. But he can't suffer because of me. He has to live.

He's young. He's got the world. There's so much he can do. I won't allow him to give it all up just because of me.
