265 Chapter 265: Better Than Her

A famous director noticed Nathalia and came over. "Mr. and Mrs. Davidson, your daughter-in-law, is stunning, and there's a unique air of elegance about her. I wonder if she's interested in trying acting, joining the film industry?"

Mrs. Davidson looked at Nathalia with a bright smile and replied, "She is indeed a beauty."

Curt nodded in approval as well. "Yes. And she's a smart girl. I'm really glad to have her as my daughter-in-law."

Spencer was rather surprised to hear what his father said. It was the first time his parents had agreed with each other. And of course, he loved hearing people paying compliments to his wife.

"Isn't my darling sweet?!" He added proudly.

How they showed their approval and affection to Nathalia made quite a few female guests jealous.

The Berry family, who was sitting within audible distance, were furious, especially Amy. "Dad, we need to do something." She whispered to his father. Nathalia's getting all the attention and love. What about me?!

Vincent frowned, thought it over, and said, "Amy, if you want to marry into the Davidsons, you'd better get along with Nathalia. It won't do you any good to displease her." Someone who's approved by Curt, his wife, and their son must be somebody.

Amy was so shocked that she was in tears. "Dad! I can't. I can't. She's awful. I hate her." She's embarrassed me so many times in public! To get along with her, impossible!

I've spoiled her too much. She has to learn to compromise. Vincent thought with a severe headache. "Amy, listen to dad. You can't fight with her. You don't know how smart she is. If she wants to beat you, she will beat you badly and easily."

Amy didn't expect that her father would think so little of her. What's about her that's better than me?!

"Dad, I'm your daughter! Shouldn't you be a bit more supportive instead? What's good about her anyway?! She's rude, arrogant, and mean! She's an awful person! And she..." Amy went on and on till Vincent couldn't bear it and had to interrupt her.

"Even if she's everything you said, her husband loves her, and her parents-in-law love her. Don't you see it? If you get support from Matt and both Curt and his wife, then you have the chance to beat her. If not, then just forget about it."

Spencer used to be known for his frequency in changing girlfriends, and now he was probably the most loyal man in the world. There had never been any rumors or gossips about him ever since he started dating Nathalia. One had to admit that there must be something special about Nathalia.

As with Curt, who had met all sorts of women and rarely paid any compliments to anyone, he had just spoken highly of Nathalia on such an important occasion. And what did that say about Nathalia?

Amy's jaw dropped, and she was speechless. She couldn't even handle Matt, let alone Curt and Mrs. Davidson. But what is it about her that's better than me?! She wondered and couldn't understand.

Amy noticed that Matt was carrying two plates and going towards the table where Curt and the family sat.

"Here, dad. I got you some oysters. It's cooked really nicely." Matt said gently, then he turned to Mrs. Davidson and went on tentatively, "Would you like to try some as well?"

Curt accepted it happily and said, "Thank you." However, Mrs. Davidson replied coldly, "Not for me." She said it rather loudly, and some people turned to look at them curiously.

It suddenly turned stiff and awkward. Curt looked displeased. "It tastes good." He said plainly.

Mrs. Davidson took a glance at Curt and was about to say something, but Nathalia cut in timely. "Mum finds the taste of oysters a bit strange. I remember last time when we ordered oysters, I had to eat them all myself. My tummy almost burst. Hahaha." Nathalia said it cheerfully and brought some laughter into the room.

Mrs. Davidson pouted her lips. She didn't like Nathalia's interruption.

Mum. I know how you feel, but let's wait another time. It's not the right occasion to be rude, especially with all these important guests here. Nathalia thought helplessly.

Matt laughed with Nathalia and apologized politely, "I see. Sorry, I didn't know." Then she turned to Nathalia and said casually, "Would you like some, then?" It was so casual that it sounded strange.

Nathalia knitted her brows and wasn't sure how to reply. Spencer pushed the plate away and said plainly, "She doesn't like oysters either." He didn't sound pleased at all, but he was calm.

However, Matt didn't seem to notice the warning tone in Spencer's words, and he continued, "Don't you? I remember you used to like seafood."

Nathalia replied indifferently, "People changed. You have changed, as well. You are not the Matt I used to know anymore, are you?" If he wants to make it awkward, then I will make it more awkward for him. Nathalia thought.

This time Matt realized the sarcasm in Nathalia's tone. He was shocked, "Nathalia..."

Curt also noticed the unfriendliness expressed. He frowned for a bit but quickly dismissed it.

"The steak is really nicely cooked. Here. Oh, which sauce do you prefer?" Spencer said gently as he forked a piece of steak for Nathalia. He knew that Nathalia loved both mushroom sauce and peppercorn sauce, and he had both ready.

"Mushroom, please," Nathalia replied instantly.

"Here you are." At the very same time, Matt passed Nathalia a small bowl of sauce, and it was mushroom.

Spencer glared at Matt, annoyed. Mrs. Davidson was surprised to see the coincidence.

"Thanks," Nathalia said without thinking. As she was about to accept it, Spencer took the bowl of sauce and put it aside. He was obviously displeased. Then he took the bowl of peppercorn sauce and spooned a bit onto Nathalia's plate.
