284 Chapter 284: She’s Not Changing I

Mrs. Davidson looked up at Matt, stunned, then a bitter smile appeared on her face. "Will you? No, you won't. Neither will I." she answered clearly, her eyes on Matt, focused and steady.

Matt lost his tongue and didn't know how to react. Curt waved his hand and said, "Sit down, Matt." He sounded helpless. She's made up her mind, and she's not changing it.

Mrs. Davidson's attorney handed in some files. They were photos of Curt being intimate with various women. The judges were not surprised as it was known publicly that Curt had a reputation with women. The presence of Matt was obvious proof. There was no doubt that Mrs. Davidson had the very right to request a divorce.

About an hour later, the judge announced that that was the end of the first court day. The next time would be crucial as that would be when the result would be announced.

Mrs. Davidson felt numb. She had been sweating from nervousness the whole time. Nathalia held her hand and said gently, "Mum, it's all good. Let's go home now." Mrs. Davidson felt supported and nodded her head.

It must be hard for mum. Nathalia thought sympathetically. The best thing she could do was to be with her, to make her feel supported, to make sure that she knew she was not alone.

They walked to the gate slowly, Nathalia holding Mrs. Davidson's arm. Curt watched them, knitted his brows, and suddenly ran after them.

"Sue, let's talk, please," Curt said helplessly, almost pleading.

"Let's talk?" Mrs. Davidson glared at him and snapped angrily, "For what? So that you can hurt me again?!" Now you've finally noticed me. All these years, you would never even take a good look at me.

What's the point in continuing this marriage when we have turned strangers? It's just a joke.

Curt felt like his heart had just been stabbed. "I'm sorry. I apologize, and I want to make it up..." he said remorsefully.

Mrs. Davidson turned around, with her back facing him, and she said icily, "It's too late. It's been over twenty years. I won't accept your apology."

Looking at the back of his wife, for the first time, Curt noticed how fragile she looked. He felt like he had never known her. "You have made up your mind, haven't you? There's nothing I can say or do to change it?" He asked one last time.

"Nothing." Brief and determined her answer was.

She had her point delivered clearly. It wasn't attention she was seeking. It wasn't a game she was playing. She meant it.

"Don't you..." Curt felt as if something got stuck in his throat. With great effort, he continued, "Don't you...love me anymore?"

Her laugh had somehow given Mrs. Davidson the courage to stand her ground. "Whether I love you or not does not matter anymore. I don't want to be your wife. I don't want to be the cowardly Mrs. Davidson anymore. This is the end, the end of us." She said it calmly and clearly.

Curt was shaken. There was so much he wanted to tell her, but he only heaved a heavy sigh and said, "You have really changed."

Aunt Emma came over, looking very concerned, and persuaded, "Susan, why are you doing this to yourself? It's been over twenty years and you've been fine. Why are you making it difficult for everyone?

Nathalia was speechless. What completely bullshit she's speaking! Making it difficult for everyone?! She doesn't give a damn how mum feels at all.

Mrs. Davidson took no notice of her. Aunt Emma blushed awkwardly for the lack of response and went on. "Susan, I'm concerned about you. You shouldn't listen to someone's mean and rebellious suggestions…" She looked at Nathalia disdainfully.

"Who's this someone? Huh? Why don't you just say their name?" Nathalia snapped angrily.

Aunt Emma shrugged her shoulders innocently and said, very timidly, "I didn't say it's you. Why are you so angry?"

She has called me insolent, mean, and rebellious. Nathalia thought angrily. Look at her pretentious look! Alright, she asked for it.

"Why did you look at me with disdain then? I wish you could see your own face now, so pretentious. Huh. Pretending to be frightened by me now, aren't you? Don't think people are stupid. Who doesn't know that you are the arrogant and aggressive Ms. Fashion?! And by the way, you aren't very good at acting at all." Nathalia said loudly, clearly, and eloquently.

She then pointed to Matt and Curt. "Can you tell she's acting? Huh? Can you tell me how pretentious she is?"

Curt and Matt didn't expect themselves to be involved. "Ye, ye, yes." They both stumbled. They had seen what Nathalia was like when she was really annoyed, and they had learned not to cross the line.

Mrs. Davidson watched Nathalia in amazement, and when she saw the defeated face of her sister Emma, she felt pleasure and relief. She herself was a bit slow in responding, and when she got in a fight, she usually found it frustrating not being able to retort quickly enough. Hahaha, now Emma knows how it feels. Mrs. Davidson thought.

Emma gave up acting pitifully. She glared at Nathalia and retorted angrily, "You are so rude! I have no idea why Spencer married you at all! The Carters didn't know how to educate their children, do they?! I would have given you a good slap if you were my daughter!" This girl is horrible! My gosh! She made me so angry!

On hearing so, Nathalia smiled and replied very casually, "That's why you're childless. Thank god."

"Hahaha." Mrs. Davidson burst out laughing. Nathalia is incredible.
