285 Chapter 285: Perhaps It’s Beneficial To Me

Curt's face went stiff, but not too astonished-looking. Matt covered his mouth with his hand, pretending to be coughing, trying hard not to laugh. And the bodyguards were giggling, though as quietly as they could, and it was audible, thinking Mrs. Nathalia Davidson is witty. Hahaha.

"My goodness! Did you hear that?! What an insolent girl! Does Spencer know how terrible she is? Susan, Curt, did you know?" Emma exclaimed, her cheeks were red with anger, her voice trembling.

Mrs. Davidson smiled brightly and said with pride, "My Nathalia is the best, unlike some pretentious superstar. Come, Nathalia, let's go get lunch, my treat."

"Wow. Thanks, mum. Shall we go to the French café?" Nathalia replied happily.

"Wherever you like." They two walked out arm in arm, without taking another look at Emma or Curt.

Emma glared at them, then turned to look at Curt, took a deep breath, and smiled. "Curt..."

Curt turned around to leave, paying her no attention. Matt followed quickly. He turned around to look at Emma and said to Curt, "Dad, aunt Emma seems to have something to tell you."

I wonder what happened in the past. There must be a story behind aunt Emma. Perhaps it's beneficial to me.

Curt said icily, "Just ignore her."

The journalists were surprised to see Mrs. Davidson walking out of the court with a smile. She looks happy! What happened? Why?

Again, Mrs. Davidson kept her mouth shut as she walked through the crowd with the help of the bodyguards.

Spencer had been waiting in the car. As soon as he saw them, he pulled over. Mrs. Davidson and Nathalia got in quickly.

"Mum..." Spencer hesitated. He wanted to ask her about the court but was worried that it might upset her.

Mrs. Davidson patted his head affectionately and said cheerfully, "We are going to the French café to get lunch. My treat."

"Yeah!" Nathalia exclaimed excitedly. "I love that café! Aww, just thinking about the food..."

"and dessert!" Mrs. Davidson added.

Spencer was shocked, staring at his two favorite women, wondering what had happened. Haven't they just been to court?

The journalists noticed that Curt was also smiling, nothing like how he looked an hour ago, and we're even more surprised.

"Mr. Davidson, have you and Mrs. Davidson come to an agreement? You seemed pleased."

Curt didn't reply to any questions. He went straight into his car, drove away, and left everyone wondering.

The public had been expecting some big news, but most of the media could only say that it was a mysterious case. No one knew what had happened in court and what was the current situation with the Davidson couple.

Nathalia pouted her lips and tapped his cheeks, "Why? Are you angry with me for being rude to aunt Emma?"

Seeing her innocent face, Spencer couldn't help giving it a peck of a kiss. "Of course not. Mum and dad are cool about it. Mum's even happy about it. Why should I be angry at all?" He believed every word Nathalia said. She was too proud to lie. And he had seen how aunt Emma behaved, so he wasn't too surprised.

Nathalia was relieved to know that he wasn't angry. It seemed that she had grown to care more about his feelings since they got married.

"Spencer, you know what's strange, though. Mum doesn't like aunt Emma, and neither does dad. But why is he helping her with her business?" If he doesn't like aunt Emma, why is he helping her? It doesn't make sense. He's too business-like. He only sees profits. It's very unlikely that he will help someone simply for the sake of helping them. There must be a reason.

Spencer thought it over and realized that he had never noticed. There are a lot of things I need to find out. "It is strange." He nodded, deep in thought.

Just then, his phone rang. He saw the name of the caller on the screen and knitted his brows. Nathalia saw it as well. She pouted her lips and was about to stand up and leave. But Spencer held her hand. He pressed the speaker button.

"Hi, Aunt Emma."

Aunt Emma exploded angrily, "Spencer! I was so embarrassed today! You have no idea what your wife is like! She insulted me right in front of everyone! I was..."

Spencer heaved a sigh and cut her short, "Aunt Emma, you have been away for quite some time. I think it's time for you to go back to Italy."

Emma lived in Italy and spent most of her time there when she was not traveling.

"I beg your pardon?!" She exclaimed in disbelief. Is he asking me to leave?! This is not the Spencer, I know!

Calmly, Spencer said again, "I think it's better you go back to Italy, Aunt Emma." She and mum dont get along. Dad doesn't seem to like her, and me, myself, have a lot of work to do. There's no point in having her stay here. She can't help with our family issue anyway.

Aunt Emma closed her eyes in despair, took a deep breath, and defended herself clearly, "Spencer, do you not want to see me anymore? Do you think I'm causing trouble? You have to trust me. I am telling you the truth. I'm only here to help..."

Spencer knitted his brows, thought for a little while, and decided to make it more clear. "I trust my wife, and I will always stand on her side."

In fact, Spencer had never really got to know aunt Emma very well. He only remembered that she took care of him when he was little, and for that, he was grateful and respected her.

But what is aunt Emma like? I've never really got to know her. Spencer thought to himself. Her arrogance, her pride, her pretentiousness, her lies...I didn't know any of these. I can't allow her to treat Nathalia this way.
