303 Chapter 303: What Does She Want Now?

Every morning, Nathalia woke up to a present of pretty roses from Spencer. The morning dew still decorated the petals, and it's pleasant fragrance greeted Nathalia's nostrils. What a beautiful way to start a day!

Spencer hardly went out for business meals or meetings after work, but would go straight home to spend time with Nathalia and his mother, to enjoy dinner together, to go for a walk in the garden, to watch the moon and the stars at night. The couple had grown closer and built a deeper relationship.

Now that they had their own floor of space and privacy, Nathalia felt more open and free to be kissed and to kiss and to make love with Spencer. There were nights when they would make love passionately, and there were nights when they would simply visit their dreamlands cuddling and welcome the sunlight in the early morning. Life was peaceful and full of love.

It was another lovely day. Nathalia had a nap after lunch and just woke up. She stretched her slim body and got up. Her phone rang. It was a strange number.

"Nathalia, I need to talk to you. There's something I want to tell you."

Emma? What does she want now? Nathalia pouted her lips, wondering. "I don't have time for you." She replied plainly.

After the incident, Emma took the flight and went back to Italy. It was said that she had some hard time being followed by the paparazzi for some time, and it was on the news in Italy even. However, she was, after all, Ms. Fashion. It didn't affect her business much.

In the past years, she had been a popular topic in the tabloids anyway, and she had grown used to it. Gossips, rumors, be them true or not, did not shake her arrogance.

Emma said in a warning tone, "Think twice. You don't want to regret it. I know that Spencer still sees me as his aunt."

Nathalia sneered, "Does he? Why don't you speak to him instead then?" Has she got no sense of conscience? Does she not feel guilty at all after what she's done to Spencer?

Emma clenched her fists. She was enraged, but she managed to speak calmly, "Meet me at the Royal Café, or you will regret it."

So she's back in town. Nathalia thought, and an idea occurred to her. "So you really want to see me. Alright, meet me at Garden Café down the road from Royal café at 3 p.m. Bye."She hung up.

Garden café was, as its name implied, a lovely garden. There were about thirty different species of plants and flowers around. Butterflies, bees, and birds were regular visitors. There were tables outdoors surrounded by pots of plants and also a few private rooms inside with a view of the garden.

At three ten, Emma came in. As usual, she was extravagantly dressed up, in an expensive fancy dress, with heavy make-up and wearing sparkling crystal jewels.

Nathalia took a glance at her. She didn't stand up to greet her but poured herself some flower tea and had a sip. It's her who wants to see me. I don't want to see her. Nathalia thought.

Emma was annoyed. "How rude! You have no manners, do you? Well, you never had a mother to teach you properly..." she remarked.

Nathalia cut her short sternly, "Talk to me about manners, mama-san! You are worse than the prostitute you hired, cunning, pretentious, and to call you a bitch is too nice to you."

Utterly enraged, Emma couldn't find her tongue for a while. "You! You! Dis... disgraceful!" she stammered.

Nathalia checked the time on her phone and said proudly, "I have twenty minutes for you, and you have wasted ten minutes."

Emma rolled her eyes and took a few deep breaths. Then she sat down and very calmly, she said, "Nathalia, let's make a deal."

"A deal?" Nathalia lifted her brows. "What kind of deal?" she said with a sneer.

The waiter came to take the order. Emma ordered a latte quickly, and impatiently she waved her hand at the waiter to indicate to him to leave them alone.

"Tell me how much money you want and stop this nonsense." Emma offered.

Nathalia knitted her brows and wondered why Emma was compromising. She thought of various possibilities and was cautious, but she remained calm. "Why? I really look forward to seeing you in court. I'm sure it will be fun."

Emma seemed to have expected it. She didn't look surprised. "Alright, I've given you a chance. Now you are going to regret it." She said threateningly.

Nathalia had a sip of her tea and played with the cup very casually. She took a look at Emma indifferently as if she didn't hear what she said.

Emma had met and dealt with all sorts of people, and she could usually see through them, but with Nathalia, she couldn't understand her at all. She decided to give it another go. "Nathalia, let's be sensible. Neither you nor I want to make a big scene of it. Also, Spencer is my only nephew. He's to be my heir. All that I have will be his..."

She went on for a while, trying to persuade, to threaten, to argue but missing the point. Nathalia was cautious. This woman has no morals, no conscience. She's lived a life too easy to ever consider others. Pure selfishness. The fact that she can build and manage an enterprise so successfully says that she's not someone to be underestimated. She's even set up Spencer.

"Get to the point," Nathalia said briefly with a calm smile.

"For the sake of Spencer, let's forgive and forget. And you will share some of the heritage..." Emma said gently with a pretentious smile. I don't like the calm look on her face! She thought.
