305 Chapter 305: It Was All Too Late

"Now, Daniel Brown, you are a liar," Spencer said calmly.

Shocked, Daniel reacted angrily, "You are insulting me. I didn't lie. I've never met people as rude as you two."

Spencer lifted his brows and questioned, "So you did see my wife slap this woman? You saw her raise her hand and slap her? Are you sure?"

It was obvious that Spencer was standing on Nathalia's side. He wouldn't even call Emma her name, let alone accept her as his aunt. 'This woman', he had addressed her as.

Daniel felt anxious suddenly, but he nodded and confirmed, "Yes, I'm sure."

"Alright. That's a shame. I've given you a chance, but you refused to tell the truth. You will receive a letter from my lawyer soon. I'm suing you for defaming my wife."

The crowd gasped.

"What do you mean? You are suing me?! Your wife insulted this lady, and you insulted me! Now you are suing me?!" Daniel was as enraged as puzzled.

I'm sure I've never met him, but the more I watch him, the more familiar I find him. Why? Nathalia wondered.

The manager of the café asked curiously, "Mr. Spencer Davidson, would you kindly explain, please? You seem very certain that he's lying."

A smile appeared on Spencer's face. "Sure." He said casually.

Now Daniel had a terrible feeling. He grew worried as he watched Spencer bend down and take out a small device from under the table.

Spencer held up the device so everyone could see it.

"What is it?" Daniel asked anxiously.

Emma sensed that things were going the wrong way. "Spencer, it's enough. Why don't we have a talk in private?"

It was all too late.

Spencer pressed a button on the device, and it repeated the conversation between Nathalia and Emma. It had recorded it.

"Aha. That's what happened!" the crowd exclaimed.

"How cunning!"

"Disgusting! Liar!"

"No wonder she's all alone. Proud Ms. Fashion!"

Spencer stared at Emma icily as the recording played. There was mockery, caution, and disdain in his look.

Emma collapsed into the chair, staring at Spencer and Nathalia, her eyes wide open.

"You have planned it." She muttered.

She thought she was the clever one and had set a good trap. It turned out that she had fallen into her own trap.

Nathalia looked at her with disdain. She's too arrogant. She thinks of people's life as a game for her to play.

After the incident, Nathalia had learned to be cautious, and this time she had talked to Spencer before going to meet Emma.

I feel like she's hiding more. It can't be just so simple. Nathalia wondered. What else has she plotted? What is it that she really wants?

Emma's face went pale. She opened her mouth a bit, but no words came out. She didn't think Nathalia would have prepared. She had underestimated Nathalia.

In a trembling voice, she murmured, "I... Spencer..."

"What do you want from us?! You set me up last time, and this time you targeted my wife. Why? Why are you doing this to us?! Why do you want to harm us?!" Spencer interrogated angrily.

"I..." Emma sobbed, for real this time, yet no one showed her pity anymore.

Spencer had always been cautious of people except for his family and a few friends as he trusted them and loved them. Emma took him as naïve, and now she had to learn her lesson in a hard way.

Spencer found Emma even more repulsive with her tears. "I've had enough!" he said sharply.

It startled Emma. She looked up at Spencer and questioned instantly, "What do you mean? What are you going to do?"

Just then, an impatient voice traveled from behind the crowd, "What's going on here? What is it this time?"

Spencer and Nathalia exchanged a look, and both saw the surprise in each other's eyes. What is he doing here? They both thought.

On hearing the voice, Emma quickly turned around, cleaned her face, and tidied her hair to make sure that she looked decent. "Curt, you've come just at the right time! Please help me. Talk to Spencer. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I was..." she pleaded.

Nathalia watched her carefully, and a thought occurred to her. Could that be why?! She wondered.

One of the bodyguards had informed Curt briefly of what happened. Enraged, Curt snapped, "What the hell are you doing? Get back to Italy. Have you not caused enough trouble here?!" He glared at Emma reproachfully.

Emma's jaw dropped. "No. No. Curt, you, you misunderstood..." she stammered nervously.

Curt seemed to have figured out something, and he looked even more annoyed. "Did you plan all of this? Did you plan that Spencer and I both show up here? What the hell do you want?" he questioned angrily.

Emma's heart was pounding. She felt hurt being told off and accused. Helplessly, she spoke up, "I want Spencer to leave that girl. Spencer deserves someone better."

Spencer trembled with anger. My parents never said no to Nathalia, to my marriage! Who does she think she is to interfere with?! Again and again, she played these evil games to set us apart!

Nathalia was rather calm. She held Spencer's hand and gave it a little squeeze to remind him that she was there for him, and everything was fine. Spencer held it tight.

Curt frowned and ordered, "Enough, get back to Italy and don't show up again. Our family doesn't want to see you!"
