308 Chapter 308: It Was Instinc

Emma stared at Nathalia with her eyes wide open. She retorted frantically, "Bullshit! What kind of nonsense are you speaking?!" She was trembling, her voice in a high pitch, looking a bit nervous.

Nathalia watched her carefully, and maintaining her casual tone, she said, "Why? You seemed excited and nervous. It looks like I've spoken the truth. But it's too obvious not to notice."

Now the crowd was rather puzzled. I didn't notice. How?

A waiter asked curiously, "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, would you please explain? How can you tell?"

Nathalia pointed at Emma, then tapped the corner of her eye gently, and said with confidence, "The way she looks at my father-in-law. People's eyes don't lie, especially when a woman is in love."

Everyone turned to look at Emma, at her eyes, including Spencer as he was curious. It's unlikely, but Nathalia seems very confident about it.

Curt didn't look surprised at all. Nathalia observed.

Emma had very beautiful eyes with long and talkative eyelashes, yet now, one could only see the anger in them. "Listen to yourself. You are ridiculous, nonsensical!" she shouted, too furious to compose herself.

"I believe Nathalia." Spencer supported instantly. He chose to stand by Nathalia's side unconditionally, be her right or now and especially now with the crowd watching.

He said it with such determination that Nathalia smiled at him brightly. Calmly, she added, "There's another thing. I don't know if any of you had noticed when Curt came in, Emma quickly turned around to clean herself. I believe when we see someone we love, it's a subconscious reaction."

Women cared about how they looked, especially when their loved ones were around. It was natural. It was instinct.

A female customer commented, "Yeah! I did notice! She looked miserable before, with tea dripping down her hair and that, but as soon as Mr. Curt Davidson showed up, she appeared very presentable."

So, that's why!

That isn't very pleasant. She's been coveting her sister's husband! How shameless! It's immoral!

I wonder what she's done to Mrs. Davidson behind her back.

What a cunning and evil woman!

The crowd thought and couldn't help wondering how Curt and Spencer were thinking. Curt seemed calm, as if it had nothing to do with him. That's strange that he looks so oblivious.

Spencer still appeared surprised and perplexed.

With everyone looking at her with disdain and doubt, Emma looked both worried and calculating. She glanced around, then retorted with a sneer, "Aren't you being childish?! That's what your assumption bases on?! Are you serious? You are merely accusing me, insulting me by making up nonsense. People with a brain won't believe a word you say."

She spoke loudly at the crowd, yet when her eyes met Nathalia's, she stopped. She felt like someone had slapped her cheeks hard, and they were burning red. There was pity in Nathalia's eyes.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She questioned. Is she pitying me?

That would be the worst insult to her.

I'm Ms. Fashion. Everyone worships me and respects me! I'm the goddess! I don't need anyone's pity.

Nathalia bit her lower lips slightly. She seemed to hesitate for a bit, then looking at Emma into her eyes, she said calmly and clearly, "I feel sorry for you. Not everyone can be with whom they love, but you don't even have the courage to admit your feelings. What's worse is that you want to control. You hire someone to watch him, to follow him, to report back to you everything he's doing..."

Emma's face went scarily pale as Nathalia went on.

"You are jealous that he has a happy family, so you try to harm this family. Your mind is twisted, twisted by jealousy. Your heart has grown merciless, controlled by the devil called jealousy..."Nathalia went on, saying every word clearly.

Emma collapsed into the chair. She looked frightened and helpless.

Spencer watched her reaction and understood. What Nathalia is saying is true! It's all true. What has Emma done behind my parents, to their relationship?!

He had to stop himself from thinking. It's too much. All these years! Is this what my parents have been hiding from me?

Emma shook her head frantically, and all of a sudden, she screamed, "Shut up! Stop! It's not true! I..." she looked like she was going to break down.

Nathalia smiled and replied, "Even though you are successful, you have fortune and power, you are the most pathetic person." Then she turned to Spencer and said gently, "Honey, shall we go home?" She took Spencer's hand and led him away.

"No, no, no," Emma screamed emotionally from behind. No. I am not pathetic! I have everything, everything!

Without pausing or turning around, Nathalia said slowly, "You don't even dare to express your true feelings. That's pathetic."

It hit Emma like a bolt of lightning. She knew that it was true. In the screaming crowd, she fainted.

Spencer followed Nathalia quietly, though he held her hand tighter and heaved a heavy sigh.

Nathalia felt much better after revenging on Emma. She grinned and asked, "Why? You look upset."

They got into the car, and both sat at the back, next to each other. Spencer stroked her hair gently and asked, "Is it all true, what you said? I'm feeling a bit lost." He was still trying to understand what had happened. It felt like a nightmare.

How he used to understand the past was now all demolished. Aunt Emma wasn't the aunt Emma he had thought to be. Fortunately, I have my love, my wife still. He comforted himself.

Nathalia turned to face Spencer, cupped his cheeks with her palms, and looking at him into his eyes, she said softly and confidently, "Honey, it doesn't matter if it's true or not. If it's a problem, it's hers, not ours. It has nothing to do with us, has it?"
