310 Chapter 310: What Do You Think?

None of the shareholders liked the new CEO, but considering that Ben did have some talent in running the company and had brought some profits, they decided to leave him be.

Nathalia was quiet. Richard watched her carefully and sighed. "You know; I really think that it's unnecessary. I mean, do you want to be dismissed? Why don't you just agree with this proposal, just once this time, so Ben Johnson..."Richard said timidly. He couldn't understand why Nathalia rejected the proposal, yet he didn't want to annoy her anymore. Somehow he had a feeling that the Carter Company would be hers one day, and he was cautious with how he behaves.

Nathalia lifted her brows and said, "If I'm not determined this time, there will be another time and another time. Ben Johnson will think that he can take advantage of me. Have you not known him well enough to see? The secret shareholder chose Ben Johnson to be the representative because of me."

She had seen it through. It was because of the past between her and Ben that Ben was chosen. Both Nicolas and Richard were shocked. "Are you serious? Perhaps you are overthinking?" Nicolas asked. He then recalled the incidents that happened before and seemed to get Nathalia's point. But who is this secret shareholder?! He wondered.

"Better safe than sorry," Nathalia said plainly.

Richard said with a smile, rather awkwardly, "Well, even if you have to be dismissed, not that I want that to happen, it's not such a bad thing. I mean, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson has got The Trend and more than enough to spend. Hahaha."

Nathalia looked at him for a few seconds and said, "Is that so? Anyway, I know what I'm doing. I might give you some surprise that you never expected," Her voice was calm, yet there's something she wanted to emphasize.

It sent a shiver down his spine, and he dared not utter another word.

When they left The Trend, Richard asked Nicolas, "What do you think? She's too stubborn." And too calculating. I can't even try to guess her thoughts. She frightened me just then. She's totally a different person than before.

She looks like a normal young girl, but she's not simple at all. Other girls of her age are still enjoying their parents' protection while she is Mrs. Davidson and the president of the Carters Company and the owner of the Trend!

This is what we know now. Who knows what else she's hiding. She's so calm that it's scary sometimes. I should have to be more cautious when I act in front of her.

Though Richard needed money, he felt more assured after hearing Nicolas's thoughts. "True. True. Let's see what happens."

"Yeah. Hopefully, she can stay as president, and something better will come out."

That the Board of Carters Company was to hold a meeting to decide on dismissing Nathalia was on the news, yet no one paid much attention. The public was more interested in the case of Curt Davidson's divorce and the hotel incident involving Spencer Davidson.

Even if Nathalia was not the president of the Carters' Company, it would not change how the public thought of her much. What was important was that she was still the mistress of the Davidsons. And she was meant to be somebody. It is known to the public that Spencer Davidson has always been supporting his wife.

Ben Johnson wasn't so calm, though. He had called Nathalia a few times to remind her, which Nathalia rarely answered, and when she did, she sounded so calm and indifferent that it angered Ben. He was losing his temper when he thought about Nathalia's change.

"Nathalia, you have one day left to change your mind," Ben warned her.

The meeting was to be held tomorrow, and some changes were to come.

It was a quiet evening. The moon was high up and bright. Standing at the balcony, looking at the night sky. Nathalia felt peaceful. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Very much," she answered with a smile.

Ben could even hear her smile. Angrily, he snapped, "You are too proud, Nathalia. You're going to fall very badly! Don't think you can defeat me," His anger showed that he wasn't confident.

In fact, he had been finding it difficult to sleep in the past days. He had been having nightmares when he did manage to fall asleep. He felt terribly stressed and worried. So far, he hadn't won once; instead, he was miserably defeated by Nathalia every time, yet his ego can't accept it.

Though this time, he had prepared the best he could. He spoke to each shareholder and got them to agree to his plan, but he was still concerned. He felt as if something bad was going to happen, or it was only because he had not won once. He can't let another losing battle against Nathalia.

It even got to the point when he became nervous as soon as he heard someone mention Nathalia's name. This is not good at all! I should find a way to win over her this time! He thought to himself but the more desperate it cause him. He was so annoyed thinking about how Nathalia had planned everything ahead of him. He also knew that Spencer Davidson was helping her.

Nathalia could hear his worries and uncertainty. She couldn't help laughing, "Hahaha, let's see who falls. Take care, Ben. I just thought if you could soundly sleep at night. Ah, maybe a nightmare occurred to your sleep," She quickly hung up, tired of his voice.
