312 Chapter 312: No Wonder She’s Acting Like This

Nathalia was pleased to see the fear and worries on their faces. Casually, she continued, "If the company isn't run the way I like, then I would rather give it all up and step away. Just like what you said when you threatened me the other day, Ben Johnson, that I don't lack money anyway."

The shareholders all turned to look at Ben angrily. Is he mad?! He even dared to threaten Nathalia Davidson?! What's wrong with him? No wonder she's acting this way. This arrogant man threatened her!

In a way, Nathalia was the real leader in the company. Though she was not at the company often, she meant a lot to the success of the company, to the staff who saw her as the real owner.

If the company lost her, then it would not last long. Shareholders will be doomed to a bad ending and, in fact, lose their money as well.

Ben felt helpless, useless. Nathalia took him by surprise again. Defeated, he pointed the finger at her and said angrily, "How can you be so cruel?! As you said, it's your family business, it's your family inheritance, how can you even think of selling it?! You're a selfish person I've known,"

"Hahaha! Selfish person? Me? I think you should tell that to yourself," Nathalia laughed, "Just want to make it clear that I DID NOT inherit the shares. I'm sure you all know very well how I got the shares. I never owe the Carters anything, or anyone anything. I have the right to do what I think right with the shares I have."

She had earned them. She had gone through a lot to earn them. And, of course, she had the absolute right to do whatever she wanted with them. No one had the right to accuse her.

Ben wanted to retort, to shout at her, but realized that it would be useless. She doesn't care about the company; she doesn't care about money, or benefits, or how others think of her! Nothing can hold her back. I can't do anything about it!

The shareholders were now truly worried, especially Richard. He said anxiously, "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, we don't intend to dismiss you at all. You will always be the president of the Board."

"Yeah. Surely. It's a family business, and you are the only family member here."

"I agree." The others chorused.

Nathalia remained calm. One couldn't tell if she was pleased or not and grew more worried. They regretted agreeing to have the meeting, agreeing to Ben's plan.

Nicolas spoke aloud, "I suggest that as long as the company runs on, Nathalia is the president and can never be dismissed. Do you agree?" he looked around the table, seeking support.

"I do."

"So do I."

"And I."

Ben listened and watched furiously. "I disagree! You are not thinking logically! If we don't dismiss her, how are we going to get the proposal approved? We are losing a huge amount of money!" He had worked so hard, spent so much time persuading each of them. All his effort was now turned to nothing.

He thought he could finally get rid of Nathalia this time, and he could please his real boss. However, Nathalia had changed the whole scene within just minutes.

"Or we are avoiding a disaster," Nathalia commented calmly. "Ben Johnson, if you are capable, and it's a good proposal, I will surely approve. But you haven't really proved yourself to be. Now you have wasted everyone's time holding this unnecessary meeting. As the CEO, don't you think you have better and more important things to do? Or you are not a qualified CEO."

Her tone turned threatening. Ben was shaking with anger. "Nathalia! You can't..."

Nathalia took a look at her watch, noticed the time, and cut him short, "I guess that's the end of this meeting. Dismiss." I don't want to waste more time here. Spencer's waiting for me. She thought.

Enraged, Ben retorted, "You can't take it personally. I know you don't like me much, but this is about the whole company! It concerns all the shareholders' benefits." He had spent a few months preparing and planning this. He was not ready to just give up yet.

Some shareholders nodded in approval, some looked at Ben with contempt, some looked helpless, and all remained quiet, awaiting Nathalia's reply.

Nathalia smiled. "I thought that having me as the president has brought the best benefits to everyone."

It was not an answer expected. It took them some time to comprehend. Some did and exclaimed, "That's true. It's because we have Mrs. Nathalia Davidson as the president that people trust the company."

"I see! Indeed. I totally agree. Those proposals are offered because of our president."

"Yeah. Who would think of working with us if it wasn't for Mrs. Nathalia Davidson?!" Now they realized how fortunate they were, and they had almost dismissed the most important person in the company!

For Nathalia, she could do without the Carters Company, but the company and these shareholders couldn't afford to lose her.

"Right!"

"Very true." Everyone agreed excitedly.

"Yeah, Mrs. Nathalia Carter, please don't ever leave the company. We need you."

"You are very important, in fact, the most important to us."

Ben glared at everyone in disbelief. Now he had learned better how strong Nathalia was. She seemed quiet most of the time, but she would throw a sudden and powerful strike at the most crucial moment and defeat him completely. But how did she do it?!

All the efforts he had made seemed just like a kids' game that she could see through and destroy straight away.

"Don't worry. As long as I stay as the president, the Carters will only thrive." Nathalia said with a smile.
