313 Chapter 313: We Are Fortunate To Have You

"Thank you, Mr. Nathalia Davidson."

"We are very fortunate to have you as our president."

"Thank you, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson."

Ben was utterly defeated. He felt helpless. She's just a young girl! Why?!

Nathalia waved her hand casually and said, "Dismiss."

She walked out of the meeting room with everyone watching. Ben suddenly stood up and quickly followed her.

"Nathalia, I'm impressed! You changed the scene within just a short time." Ben said sarcastically.

Nathalia paused and replied mockingly, "You are too dumb, Ben. Who do you think you are to defeat me? And with what? Just those shares you have? You are kidding yourself."

"One day, I will defeat you. I will. I will." He swore to himself. His eyes spoke of determination and hatred.

"You are daydreaming." Nathalia shrugged her shoulders. He's just a puppet.

"I won't give up the company! You and I are..." he yelled at her emotionally. "Bang!" someone suddenly rushed over and hit him on his face. He lost balance and fell heavily.

"Ouch! Fuck!" he screamed, blood gushing out his nose, lying on the floor. "Spencer Davidson!"

Spencer wrapped his arm around Nathalia's shoulder protectively and smiled, "Oh, sorry, I didn't see you then." He said indifferently.

The shareholders had by then gathered around. All watched in astonishment, but no one wanted to help Ben.

"You hit me intentionally!" Ben retorted angrily and painfully. Pain, anger, and embarrassment were swallowing him. He realized that he was far behind his competitors. The support he had behind him was nothing to them.

"Oh, did I? Perhaps I did." Spencer made a funny face, and Nathalia burst out laughing. He looked at Nathalia affectionately and asked, "Babe, do you prefer French or Thai for lunch?"

Nathalia tilted her head, pouted her lips, and thought for a while. "Let's try Thai." The couple walked away holding hands.

Ben struggled to get up. He watched them leave furiously while thinking of his next move.

In the car, Nathalia's phone rang. She answered, and it was an unfamiliar voice. "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson."

Nathalia frowned, "What's that?"

"It's me, Daniel Brown. We met a few days ago." He sounded a bit annoyed.

"How can I help you, Mr. Brown?" Nathalia asked plainly. How did he get my number? She wondered. Daniel was fined for accusing Nathalia but spared from prisoning. And Nathalia had forgotten about him since the incident.

"I heard that you rejected the proposal? I wonder why." Daniel questioned, a bit angrily.

She could hear the anger in his voice, and she showed him no respect. He doesn't deserve it.

Just the fact that he helped Emma accuse her annoyed her. When she disliked someone, she showed them that she disliked them. She did not pretend.

She had no time for people like him, anyway.

"You are still so arrogant!" Daniel yelled.

Still? Nathalia found his wording rather strange. She questioned, "Did we know each other before?"

As if frightened, Daniel denied immediately, "No. No, we didn't."

"Are you sure?" Nathalia grew more suspicious, and she even felt a bit uneasy. She said tentatively, "Actually when I met you, I thought you looked quite familiar to me."

"Well, well, err, perhaps I look like someone you know before. Anyway, bye." Daniel said nervously and quickly hung up.

Nathalia frowned. A thought troubled her.

Spencer brushed her brows with his finger gently and asked, "What is it? What's the matter? You look concerned."

She suddenly thought of something but couldn't grasp it. "We shall check his background. I feel like I've missed something."

Spencer pecked a sweet kiss on her forehead as he assured her, "No worries, babe. I will get it done."

Tom Jones, Anna's father, had flown to Miami to plead Spencer to forgive Anna, but it was in vain. Spencer refused to see him. Helplessly, he went to see Sue, Mrs. Davidson, though Sue was slightly persuaded, she couldn't decide for her son and daughter-in-law. In the end, he had to go to see Curt.

No one knew what they talked about and how they settled it.

Time flew by. Nathalia lived happily every day, spending her time on study and with Spencer and Mrs. Davidson. The lovely couple grew even closer, and Mrs. Davidson was very pleased to see them, hoping she would be a grandma soon.

At an Italian restaurant

Nathalia hurried in, glanced around, looking for the familiar face.

"Hey Nathalia, here." Sophie stood up, waved her hand, and called out at her with a smile.

Nathalia replied with a grin, yet as she went closer to the table, she noticed that a man was sitting opposite Sophie, with his back facing Nathalia, and she paused.

The man turned around, and his handsome face took Nathalia by surprise. Why is he here? Why is he with Sophie? She wondered.

Matt smiled at her warmly as if he was the same old Matt, and nothing had changed. "Long time no see, Nathalia. How have you been?" he asked gently.

Nathalia hesitated. "What are you doing here? Sophie, why didn't you tell me?" Spencer didn't get along with him, and I don't want to have anything to do with him either. He has changed, so have I. We aren't what we used to be, and it can never be the same again.

Sophie heaved a sigh and thought to herself, if I told you, you would not come to see me then. She didn't understand why her friends had to end up like enemies, and all she wanted was that they get along peacefully.

"Come, Nathalia, I didn't mean to 'trick' you, but Matt was worried..." She stood up, pulled out a chair to invite Nathalia to sit down.

Matt said with a bright smile, "It's me. I asked Sophie to help. Please don't be mad at her."
