316 Chapter 316: Wedding Is Cancel

Matt said thoughtfully, "Apologies to them."It wasn't a suggestion. It was an order, a non-negotiable request.

It took Amy by surprise and brought tears to her eyes. "What?" she couldn't believe it. "I beg your pardon!" She felt as if needles were poking her heart. It hurt her. Shouldn't he be standing by my side? Shouldn't he be apologizing to me?

"Apologize to them, or I will cancel the wedding," Matt said icily.

There was a gasp of surprise from the crowd. Wow! The whole world knows they are getting married. Is he really canceling it?

Nathalia lifted her brows but remained silent and observed carefully.

Sophie was worried, trying to think of a way to help. As always, she disliked confrontation and arguments.

"Are you crazy?! Huh? I love you with all my heart. I've comprised so much for you! Why are you treating me like this? Why are you doing this to me? For these two girls?! I'm your fiancée!" she screamed as she punched Matt's chest angrily.

There was hurt and pain in her voice.

Sophie finally took up the courage to speak up, "Matt, it's ok. Really, I'm fine. We're fine. I feel sorry for Miss Berry. She..." Sophie actually envied Amy as she would be Matt's wife soon, the person that would spend her life with him. It was what she dreamed of. But she was also happy for him as long as he was happy.

"You feel sorry for me?!" Amy snapped. "You are the pathetic one! You are a bitch! You are seducing my man. How dare you!"

Sophie was startled. She shook her head frantically, trying to explain, "No. No. It's not like that. Please let me explain..."

Seeing how nervous Sophie was, Amy somehow grew even angrier. "Fuck your explanation. Don't you admit that you fancy Matt?! Huh? You like him from the very beginning, don't you? You are trying to steal him from me!"

Sophie took a look at Matt, opened her mouth slightly, yet no word came out. She tried again, looking terrified and tortured, "I, err, I..."

She couldn't lie to herself about her feelings for Matt, yet she couldn't admit it in public either. She blushed terribly, biting her lips.

It drove Amy mad. "Why?! See, you are coveting my man. You are seducing him! Don't you dare let me see you again, or I will..."She was so angry that if Matt had not held her still, she would have jumped at Sophie.

Sophie's face turned pale. She hid behind Nathalia, shivering. Nathalia lifted her chin up, looked at Amy into her eyes steadily, and said, "Or what? What will you do?"

Nathalia had made it clear that she was protecting Sophie and sent a warning to Amy.

Her accusation and wording got the crowd murmuring. Some were astounded, some angry, and some disdainful.

Nathalia didn't appear irritated at all, instead, she replied with a smile and her chin up, "Shame? What for? There's nothing to worry about, Spencer and me. We trust each other. I wish you could see yourself crying, yelling like a madwoman. Get a grip. Live your life. Don't you have better things to do than follow your fiancé all the time like a controlling freak?"

There seemed to be a hidden power in Nathalia, and it would explode when someone irritated her. She said it so eloquently and fastened that Amy was speechless. She couldn't find a word to retort.

Consciously, she turned to look at Matt for help, only to see Matt smiling, looking at Nathalia affectionately. It stabbed her heart. No way! He can't be! She exclaimed silently. He is in love with her?!

Nathalia was oblivious to Matt's gaze. She went on, "Huh! You know what, I start to think that you Are mental. You must have some mental illness." Then she turned around and said to Sophie, "Sophie, have you called the police yet?"

Sophie stared at Nathalia with wide eyes, "I...err. It's unnecessary..." she replied timidly, worried that it would only make things worse.

Nathalia rolled her eyes at her, disappointed. Silly girl. What's to be scared about? She sighed. Then she turned around, glared at Amy, arms crossed at her chest, and demanded, "Amy Berry, apologize to Sophie."

"Apologize to her?! No way! What is she? A nobody! I will never..." Amy retorted furiously, yet a stern voice cut her short.

"Our wedding is canceled. I will have it sorted and announced. We are not getting married." Matt said icily.

It struck Amy like thunder. She stared at Matt with a silent gasp. Then, all of a sudden, she found her tongue and screamed, "No! I disagree! Matt, you are mad!" She was terrified.

Matt remained silent, looking serious. It seemed like he had made up his mind. The murmuring in the crowd grew louder and louder. That's quick. They only announced their wedding not so long ago.

Sophie was in tears, terribly worried. She pleaded, "Matt, don't be silly. Please just explain to Amy nicely. It's all just a misunderstanding. You two are perfect for each other." It was meant to be a happy gathering with Nathalia and Matt, as friends. How did it end up like this? Oh. What shall I do?

"Shut up! Don't pretend to be nice. I don't need your sympathy." Amy shouted at Sophie, then turned to Matt, "You! You come with me!"

She grabbed Matt's arm, trying to drag him away with her, but it was obviously in vain.

"Let go of me!" Matt snapped.

Startled, Amy retreated her hand, and instantly, tears streamed down her face. She glared at him resentfully, turned around, and ran out of the restaurant. She stumbled a few times and almost fell. It seemed like she was really upset.
