330 Chapter 330: This Is Karma

She yelled after him, "Curt Davidson, how does it feel to have your lover's daughter as your daughter-in-law?"

Everyone froze as if time had just suddenly stopped to allow the message to sink in.

"What?"

"What does that mean?"

Nathalia shook her head to wake herself up from astonishment. This is impossible. It doesn't make sense. Mum and Curt?!

"Don't worry, babe. I'm here with you." Spencer said gently as he put his arm around her shoulder. His words calmed her down. Yes, whatever happens, Spencer's with me.

Curt looked a bit annoyed. "Nonsense. What game are you playing now, Emma? Have you lost your mind? Didn't I ask you to fuck off and go back to Italy? Don't make me force you..." he said sternly.

Emma cut him short in a mocking tone, "I found something amongst mum's personal items, and it's about you. Meet me at the cemetery." She said it slowly and clearly, paused for a bit, and waited to make sure everyone heard it clearly.

"That's the message I sent. And here you are! Didn't you hurry here straight away, huh? You thought that was from your daughter-in-law, didn't you? I am actually a bit surprised that you believed it, clever and cautious as you are." She continued and grew more and more emotional as she felt the pain of jealousy stabbing her.

"What does that mean, huh? It means you care about her! You love her! You didn't even think if it's true or not and came here immediately. It's been over twenty years, and you are still crazy about her. Why? Why? What's about her?" She questioned him as if she was the wife being betrayed.

Curt remained calm as he always was. He retorted indifferently, "Who are you to question me?"

His calmness angered Emma tremendously. He's never changed. He has no emotions. He's so indifferent, so cold.

Mrs. Davidson asked quietly, "What about me? Am I allowed to ask you the same questions? Is it true what Emma said?"

"I..err..." Curt hesitated, "The message is true, but..."

"Why is it Nathalia's mother?! Why?!" Mrs. Davidson screamed emotionally. I'm the most pathetic woman in the world. My life has been a joke, a tragedy! She felt betrayed. She felt pain stabbing her heart fiercely.

Perhaps she would feel less painful if she didn't love Nathalia so much.

Tears filled Nathalia's eyes instantly. She didn't know how to think, what to say, where to start to understand it. Is this a joke you are playing with me, God? Why? Again and again. Where is the end? Is there an end to these brutal surprises and challenges in life?

Spencer was too shocked to react. He looked at his parents like a lost child.

That was why. That was the truth.

I wish I never had to know the truth! Spencer screamed inside.

It was too cruel to accept. The shadow of the love and hate amongst their parents had now fallen on them.

Curt heaved a sigh and tried to patiently explain, "Sue, it's a long time ago. She passed away eighteen years ago." There was still a pain in his voice.

"Eighteen years! She's gone, but you haven't forgotten her! Hahaha, I had no idea that Curt Davidson is actually capable of loving so deeply and with such loyalty!" Mrs. Davidson laughed in tears. How ridiculous is this?! What a great joke!

She was so emotional that she almost fainted. Curt went forward, intending to hold her, but she gave him a slap instead. Worried, Spencer quickly went and held his mother's arms. "Mum, calm down, please. Mum." He said gently.

Now standing there alone, her hand free from Spencer's, Nathalia felt a sudden chill in her heart.

"Spencer, oh, Spencer, I'm the foolish person in the world. I've been played like a fool by this cruel man! And that girl! How stupid I am!" Mrs. Davidson buried her head in Spencer's arms and cried hysterically.

She took a resentful look at Curt. How can he do this to me? What am I to him?! Then she looked at Nathalia. And this evil girl! I've loved her like my own daughter, even more than my own son! But she's the daughter of... Ah ah, ah!

She couldn't take it anymore, crying and screaming. I've lived in lies all my life. I've been the biggest joke!

Nathalia felt a sharp claw gripping her heart as she watched Sue cry bitterly. She couldn't believe that this was true. She could not accept it. Mum loved Frank Carter, and she married him. What had she got to do with Curt? What had actually happened twenty years ago?

"Mum, please calm down..." Nathalia tried to comfort Sue, worried that she grew too emotional.

"Don't you call me, mum! It disgusts me!" Mrs. Davidson screamed at her angrily. It drove her mad as soon as she thought of Nathalia's mother.

Nathalia staggered, shocked by Sue's reaction. She bit her lips tight, trying to fight back the tears. Spencer was taken aback too. "Mum, this is not Nathalia's fault! She's innocent."

"Innocent? What about me, then? Do I deserve to have lived twenty years in lies and pain?! Huh?" Mrs. Davidson questioned tearfully.

Nathalia felt like she was going to collapse. She covered her face with both hands and turned away so as not to look at Spencer and Sue. Despite how strong-minded she had been, this was too much for her to take.

Emma watched quietly, taking delight in everyone's pain secretively. You deserve this! This is karma! The more they cried, the better she felt.

Curt knitted his brows and tried to come closer to Sue. He wanted to explain and comfort her. "Sue, there was nothing between her and..."
