350 Chapter 350: Don’t You Want To Meet Him?

"Huh?" Ben was stunned and lost his tongue for a while. Defeated, he heaved a sigh and said, "Oh, well. I just thought it would be better if you...I mean, surely, I'm capable of doing it. It's not a..."

"Alright. That's sorted then." Nathalia cut him short and said indifferently.

Ben was furious, but he had to hold back his anger. She annoys me every time!

"And there's one more thing." He took a deep breath to calm down and added. "Nate Morgan is in town, and a few tycoons are holding a party to welcome him. You will have to attend as well." There was excitement and jealousy in his eyes when he mentioned the name of Nate Morgan.

That was the most crucial thing in this meeting.

None of the directors had heard the news, and they were all surprised. Everyone sat up with their back straight, and their faces said excitement.

Nathalia recalled that Spencer mentioned the Morgans before. They were possibly the most mysterious family with great power. Everyone had done research on the family, and all were disappointed. They couldn't find out anything. They didn't even know where the family lived.

What everyone did know was that the family had businesses all over the world, for instance, the world's most famous hotel, Hotel Magnificent, which was the favorite of politicians and tycoons, the internationally best-known film company, Epic Film Corporation, which was the hotbed of successful movie stars and celebrities.

It was also said that the Morgans owned over ten islands in the world. The fortune they possessed was unbelievable. The only family that could match with them was the Davidsons, the only one.

But the Davidsons and the Morgans aimed in two different directions, or even the very opposite directions, especially with the Morgans doing everything underground, staying a mystery to the world.

Everyone was surprised and very curious about the sudden appearance of Nate Morgan, the son of the Morgan family.

Nathalia, however, wasn't much interested. "Nate Morgan? What's he doing here? Have you found out the purpose of his visit?"

It took Ben some time and effort only to get the news that Nate Morgan was in town. "Not sure. Investment, perhaps." He said.

Nathalia thought it over and requested, "Find it out then."

"Will do," Ben answered naturally, overwhelmed by Nathalia's air of authority, and as he said so, he realized and blushed awkwardly. Stupid me. I reacted like she was the real boss here! Now I can't reject it. Then he thought of something and asked aloud, "By the way, I've heard that your brother is back in town. What are you going to do with him? Poor kid, having lost his parents so young."

"As you care about him so much, why don't you take him in and look after him yourself?" Nathalia replied casually.

Ben's face went stiff instantly and quickly refused, "You are kidding me. He isn't anybody to me. Why should I look after him? But you, you are his sister. It's only natural that you take care of him, right?"In fact, he disliked Zack very much himself.

Nathalia smiled, "Well, you were almost his brother-in-law. You loved his sister, Sally, and you seemed genuinely concerned about him."

I loved Sally?! Ha-ha. Never. Ben thought to himself. He smiled sheepishly and said, "Anyway, I just thought he's your brother, and I heard that he had suffered a lot. Poor kid. I mean..."

He felt so defeated that every time he thought he could embarrass her, he was embarrassed instead.

"It's very kind of you to feel concerned about someone who isn't anybody to you, as you said so yourself. Don't you think, gentlemen?" Nathalia cut him short impatiently and looked around the table at the other directors.

The board of directors chuckled. Now that they were invited to speak, everyone took the opportunity.

"Mr. Johnson, I'd suggest you mind your own business."

"Yeah. I'm sure Mrs. Nathalia Davidson knows what to do. It's personal."

"If you have the time to care about others' family issues, why don't you spend more time doing your job better?"

Ben was enraged, but he tried to pretend that he didn't care much and said with a smile, "Well, gentlemen, I was simply showing concern about Mrs. Nathalia Davidson."

Nathalia rolled her eyes at him. "It's none of your business. I wish you showed concern when it's actually needed."

Ben was about to retort when his phone rang. He took a look at the screen sneakily and excused himself.

The board of directors was not fond of his secretive behavior at all.

Nicolas shook his head, thinking, to be honest, Ben Johnson has managed the company quite well, and he does have potential. The thing is, Nathalia is way more competent and talented than him. He isn't very lucky, having Nathalia as a competitor and contrast.

He then looked at Nathalia and said politely, "Nathalia, I've heard that Spencer's away on a business trip. You are very welcome to come to the company more often if you have time."

Leaning back in the chair lazily, Nathalia said casually, "Nah. Ben Johnson and I walk a very different path. It's better we don't meet often." The directors appreciated her frankness.

Ben had just finished the phone call outside the meeting room and was about to come in when he heard Nathalia's comment.

He looked hurt.

Richard happened to catch sight of the look on his face and was surprised. Really! He actually cares about how Nathalia thinks of him.

"Mr. Johnson, is everything ok?" He asked, referring both to the phone call and Ben's reaction.

Ben quickly resumed his serious look as the CEO and said clearly, "It's confirmed that Nate Morgan's welcoming party is tomorrow night. Nathalia, please make sure that you attend."

Nathalia had a yarn, which would have been a very unprofessional and rude reply, but somehow, she made it seem natural and even elegant. Casually, she said, "You can attend on behalf of the company. It doesn't matter much if I'm there or not."

She had never been interested in such kinds of parties. People go to these parties with all sorts of intentions, build their so-called social network, and gain another business opportunity. It's tiring. She still recalled how exhausting it was last time. She would rather stay home and read.

Also, now that Spencer was away, she was not in the mood of socializing at all.

Everyone was surprised by Nathalia's reply. This is a great opportunity. Is she not interested at all? Not everyone has the chance to attend the party, only the local tycoons and business elites.

Ben exclaimed, "Don't you want to meet him?"
