349 Chapter 349: Sounds Good

"Well, she has to apologize first, then cover all the loss and pay us a million." The driver said arrogantly.

The second request seemed reasonable, the third negotiable as it was an expensive car after all, but the first one was impossible.

The bodyguards refused without hesitation. Their driver had apologized, and it wasn't Nathalia's fault at all. "Are you kidding me? Our mistress does not need to apologize for anything."

She was a passenger. She was sitting at the back. This guy is ridiculous!

The driver lifted his chin up and said stubbornly, "She can't leave if she doesn't apologize."

Nathalia was upset about Spencer going away and was in a hurry to the meeting. She wasn't in a good mood, and now that the guy was being unreasonable, she lost her patience.

"Alright. So you want an apology from me?!" She lifted her brows and smiled.

"Correct." The driver said, noticing the unkind smile on Nathalia's face. He didn't like it at all. "Don't you think about running away without an apology..."

Nathalia went over to the Maybach, took out a knife from her bag, and stabbed the front tire, quick and sharp. Then she went to the back tire, again, stabbed it. After that, she put the knife back in her bag, looked at the two flat tires, and smiled brightly. "There. Perfect."

She looked at the driver with a content smile. She did it so swiftly and with such peculiar elegance. Everyone was shocked, including her bodyguards. They were utterly impressed and amazed. She seemed a sweet and delicate girl, but how she behaved could be the exact opposite of how she appeared.

An invincible heart and a strong mind were hidden behind the cover of an innocent face. She put her hair behind her ears gently and said rather cheerfully, "Apologies. I meant it." She winked at the driver and turned to the bodyguards. "Got a taxi?"

Just then, a taxi pulled over.

"Yes." It took the bodyguards a few seconds to react. They shook their heads to wake themselves up from the shock and quickly went to open the door for Nathalia.

The driver was dumbfounded. He watched them leave, with his eyes wide open and his jaws dropped. Later he kept thinking to himself, what a girl! I've never seen anything like it. She's in the wrong, and she acts like she's God or something. And man! She acted so swiftly. Who the hell is she? She looks innocent and harmless, but she is not at all!

Someone burst out laughing from the backseat. The driver said timidly, "Boss."

It was difficult to tell if the man was annoyed, but his voice was very pleasant to the ear. "Get it fixed."

"Yes, boss." The driver answered. His face had gone pale, his heart racing fast.

She apologized straight away with no excuses. Her sincerity and frankness were respected, and her apology was accepted. They even thought that it was probably because of something important, something profitable to the company, that had delayed her arrival.

Ben Johnson was utterly disappointed in them. They were constantly complaining before she arrived, and now they were like dogs wagging their tails. He grunted but didn't say anything.

Richard spoke first, rather cheerfully, "Nathalia, as you know, I believe, it will be the company's 100-year anniversary soon. It's a once-in-a-century celebration. We are thinking of having a grand party and wonder what your opinion is."

He needed help with money not long ago, and he asked Nathalia, tentatively, for help without much hope, but to his surprise, Nathalia lent him the money without hesitation. He was grateful and had trusted Nathalia more since then.

He knew that though Nathalia was impulsive and could be too daring sometimes, she had a good heart. As long as you did not annoy her, she would help you when needed. And she always remembered the favors one offered her.

Nathalia thought about it and had only realized that it had been one hundred years how time flies. She was the fourth generation now. And how things have changed.

"Sure." Nathalia nodded.

It was as Richard expected. It doesn't cost her money or anything. Surely she will agree. He thought. He had learned that as long as one respected her and did not cross the line, she would not make things difficult for you.

"Great. We are also planning to have a charity auction, and all the proceeds will go to your education foundation."Richard added confidently. It helps the company and pleases her. What a wonderful idea!

"Sounds good." Nathalia nodded approvingly.

Richard smiled happily while Ben glared at him. Is he doing it intentionally? He said all the rubbish, but missed the only one important thing?! What a cunning old man!

He held back his anger and said with a smile, "So, would you please write the invitation letters then and invite those you think are appropriate to the party?"

Nathalia frowned. Me?

"I believe this is your job. I shouldn't take it from you." She said calmly, with an air of authority.

She was the president of the Board, but she was also Mrs. Davidson. Invitations sent from her would imply a different meaning. There were people of importance that Carter's Company could not invite, but Nathalia could. And she didn't want to get involved yet. She didn't want to have too much attention on her.

Ben cursed silently as he was hoping to use this chance to expand his social network, to get close to some of those people of real authority and power.

"Well, it's your family company, after all, and it's an extraordinary event. I'm afraid I'm not qualified to take such an important job." He said with pretentious humility.

Nathalia looked at him into his eyes and smiled. It was as if she could see through him and knew what was in his mind. "If you are not qualified to take the job, I suggest you resign." She replied casually.
