360 Chapter 360: Desperate

Though Vincent Berry seemed to be apologetic, his tone betrayed his real thoughts. Nathalia heard the sarcasm, and she snapped, "Don't make it sound like I'm the one that's being unfair to you! You know very well what you have done. Why? Are you trying to deny it? Coward!"

I have been defensive and very patient with your ridiculousness. But now you are implying that it's me that caused all this nonsense?!

Wendy finally burst out chuckling. Bravo! She's definitely the best girl I've ever met! These people need to learn their lessons, not to irritate her.

Having made sure that she looked perfectly fine, Kelly stepped out and said, "Mr. Curt Davidson, would you not be fair and just? Nathalia is insulting us all. She's so mean."

Curt had a sip of the champagne and said casually, "I believe Nathalia knows very well what she's doing, and it seems she doesn't need my help here yet."

Now everyone was clear of Curt's attitude. He had been watching and listening and judging when or if he needed to interfere to help Nathalia.

The crowd had suspected that the Davidsons were tearing themselves apart within the family, with the disagreement between Curt and Spencer as well as the coming divorce of Curt and his wife. Now it seemed that such suspicion was unnecessary.

Whatever happened, Nathalia would still be Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, and she would become the mistress of the family in the future.

Kelly was too angry to give up so easily. "Mr. Curt Davidson, my sister Amy respected you and cared for you very much. She died so young. Don't you think you should at least say something to her? Don't you think you are being unfair?"

Matt frowned at Kelly's questions.

The crowd shook their heads in disapproval. She's so dumb.

As expected, the smile on Curt's face disappeared, and he said seriously, "Unfair? Didn't your sister kill herself? That's a stupid and selfish thing to do. I'm glad that my children understand life better and have more sense."

Since Amy Berry committed suicide, a lot of journalists had tried to interview Curt to find out his opinions on it, but they were all rejected, and Curt had not said anything about it till now.

The Berry family was shocked to hear Curt's comment on Amy's death. Kelly gasped in disbelief. "What? No. You can't say that. She was in a despairing state. She had to end her life this way only because she was forced to because she was desperate. Oh...poor Amy..." she started sobbing in an exaggerated way.

Curt looked at her sternly and questioned, "Are you implying that I'm to blame, Miss Kelly Berry?"

Though he wasn't loud, he stated it clearly and sounded threatening.

"No. No. I was, no..." Kelly stammered. How dare I ever blame you at all?

Curt lifted his brows and said icily, "Desperate? Who forced her? Did I not treat her well? Did she lack anything?"

Everyone could sense that Curt was annoyed, and surely the Berry family was now in big trouble. To be fair, it's nothing unusual that couples divorce or separate nowadays. Amy Berry didn't have to make such a big deal of it and even ended her life. Stupid. Also, if the Berry family should blame anyone, they should blame Matt Davidson instead of Nathalia Davidson. The crowd thought. They probably think she's an easier target, which is not at all.

"I'm, I..." Frightened, Kelly's jaw dropped, and she lost her tongue.

Vincent Berry stepped out to help immediately, "Mr. Curt Davidson, please don't get angry. Kelly didn't mean to upset you. We sincerely apologize."

Curt ignored him and looked away, for which Vincent Berry's face went pale. It was not a good sign at all. He panicked.

Just then, there came a commotion at the gate, and some people murmured that Nate Morgan had arrived.

Everyone turned to look with excitement. With the escort of a few bodyguards who all dressed smartly and expensively, Nate Morgan entered and walked straight into the center of attention. His incredibly handsome face, tall and slim figure, impeccable attire, and manner charmed the crowd immediately.

The hosts greeted him warmly, but Nate appeared a bit cold. It seemed like he wasn't easy to get along with; however, his charm had made a lot of ladies and girls blush and exclaim.

He was soon gathered around by a large crowd. Curt and Matt remained seated and watched the excitement indifferently. Nathalia leaned on a tall table, looking a bit bored, while Wendy tried to ran over to Nate but had to retreat as she couldn't get through the crowd.

"Nathalia, Nate Morgan is so handsome! He's my cup of tea for sure!" Wendy exclaimed.

Nathalia played with her hair casually and said, "Not sure if you are his, though."

Wendy rolled her eyes at her, discouraged by her comment and at the same time amazed at her indifference. Everyone's so excited to see Nate Morgan, but she's like it has nothing to do with her. "Why? You are so discouraging, Nathalia. Who knows? I'm probably his kind of girl."

"Alright. Good luck." Nathalia teased. Wendy was speechless. Anyway, she's Nathalia. Her way of thinking isn't what normal people can understand.

Nate Morgan glanced around the room, and when he looked in Nathalia's direction, he smiled gently. Kelly, who was standing close to Nathalia, exclaimed, "Oh, my god! He just smiled at me!"

It was such an unpleasant shriek to the ear that Nathalia frowned and thought, what's wrong with her?

Wendy was so curious that despite her contempt for Kelly, she asked, "Why? Do you know Mr. Nate Morgan?"
