Chapter 110 - A King was Awakened

A strange shiver came to Li Feng's body all of a sudden. It was as if something was very wrong with something he couldn't put a finger on. It's just that he was driving Mian Tianyu, Li Yunru, and Kang Jun to Ting University. It was just five in the morning, and the sun was not even out yet.

"What's wrong, Feng'er?" Mian Tianyu noticed the change in Li Feng's facial expression.

"Nothing really. I just had a hunch that something bad is happening, but I can't tell what it could be." Li Feng answered honestly, knowing that he wasn't a clairvoyant like some other shamans.

"I see. Well, until you find out, try not to be distracted by it. I have a feeling that the residents would be resisting a cleanse." Mian Tianyu nodded at his own readings. "The kind of ghosts the dorms reared seemed to be powerful enough to pose a challenge even to some of our newbies."

Li Feng only stared at his grandfather before nodding in agreement. He didn't know what kind of atmosphere there was in their school now. It would be bad if he assured them that they wouldn't be strong and ended up mistaken.

The car then pulled up in the parking lot of the girl's dorm, and the shamans were struck awake by the all-time high record of negative energy coming from the building. Li Feng's eyes quivered and grew very worried. Even if Mian Tianyu was the one cleansing it, what if something attacked the police?

"What the f.u.c.k happened here?" Li Yunru couldn't contain her swearing as she was terrified by the negative energy. It was ten times the ones she remembered… before Li Feng was kicked out and she decided to drop out.

"Master, the readings were peaking. There's no question if a greater ghost is located here..." Kang Jun pushed up his glasses and grew solemn. Of course, Mian Tianyu could easily cleanse this place, but that meant that it would be impossible for someone else to enter with him.

Li Feng and Li Yunru were too valuable to be left on their own to deal with greater ghosts. As for him, he was mostly a clerical man and just a shaman in paper. The most he could do as a shaman was to protect someone from low-level attacks and possession.

Hung Guangjian had no idea of these, and so when he saw them, he just greeted them casually. "Thank you for arriving on time. You said that the cleansing would be the most powerful at sunrise?"

"Yes." Mian Tianyu was somber as he glared at the building. "Where is the person from the school?"

"Master Mian, greetings." The director of the university walked closer with his secretary. He was smiling as he extended his hand for formalities. "I'm Director Chu. Thank you for coming and putting an end to the madness in the dorms. Ah, this is Manager Yan of the girl's dorm."

"Master Mian." The manager bowed a little and didn't really lift her face all that much. She was already talked to by the police about the problems in her management, and she was already looking for a way to peacefully resign. She just wanted to make sure the tragedies would stop first before she leaves.

However, these two could only spare half a look at Li Feng who was reportedly dead. He had even caused the school to take a hit from his actions… even if it was the school's fault for forcing him to take the blame. Even after Liu Xiaodan was thrown into prison, they didn't rest their eyes on him.

"Director Chu, Manager Yan." Mian Tianyu went with formalities, but he couldn't prolong it. He then looked up at the building oozing with negative energy. "Let's start the cleansing. It would take—"

"Get your hands off of me! Let me go!"

Li Feng jerked upon hearing a familiar voice. When he turned to look at the person who interrupted them, his eyes widened as he recognized the man being dragged away by the police. "W-Wait! Please wait! Let me talk to him first!"

The director controlled his face as he glared at the troublemaker… seeking the company of another troublemaker. If only he knew that these young masters from big families were all trashes—one and the same, he wouldn't have accepted them into his school.

The man being dragged away then recognized that voice calling out to make the officers stop. He then turned and saw a ghost running to them. It's just that, as a young master, he was aware that it's normal for big families to hide their sons from shame.

Tang Ernian then yelled, "Feng! Holy shit, you're really alive!"

"Ernian, what are you doing here?!" Li Feng managed to talk to him upon Hung Guangjian's cue at them.

"Bro, listen to me. Shao shit is acting very strange these days like he wasn't even sleeping. T-Then, when I told him I saw the Weeper yesterday, he kinda flipped out!" Tang Ernian then grabbed Li Feng's shoulders. "Bro, Shao shit even tried to stab me! Just today, he told me to meet him here!

"He said he wanted to burn the dorm down!" Even the officers were shocked by Tang Ernian's words. It's just that it wasn't the biggest thing about it. "I said I'm not doing it… then… then something came out of the dorm, bro. Bro, it's a monster! It took Shao shit! I barely evaded it!"

"Okay, okay, just stay in the mobile. You're safe there." Li Feng shot his hand at Tang Ernian's head to block his friend's head against the car's roof and even pushed him inside the mobile gently. "I'll find Shao Yi—"

"No, dude, if he sees you, he'll kill you for real, man!" Tang Ernian wasn't even cuffed yet, but he was already cowering inside the mobile. "Bro, he has a gun. He has a gun, don't go."

Li Feng's eyes widened at the problems that sprouted all of a sudden. Was this the trouble he felt was coming? Then again, he only assured Tang Ernian before leaving to meet his grandfather and the detective. "Detective, the black thing just kidnapped someone who planned to burn the dorm down.

"I don't know what's going on Shao Yi's mind, but I don't think Grandfather should start before I don't see that bastard and his gun out here." Li Feng gritted his teeth. Xie Canrong and the others had gone insane, but Shao Yi wasn't even that close to those guys.

If he was going insane, it's probably because of Mo Ruyi. This, in itself, seemed to prove to Li Feng that he was there when his girlfriend died. Then again, why did he even escape?

Hung Guangjian was about to call for a sweep, but Mian Tianyu objected to it. "The person inside is generating so much energy for the ghosts to feed on. It'd be dangerous for your officers. Li Feng, stay here. I'm going in. It's faster to deal with a shooter if the ghosts are gone."

"Grandfather, Shao Yi is armed. What if he shoots you?" Li Feng gritted his teeth. "There's no way I'm staying down here if you're coming up without a sweep."

"If there's an armed man inside—hostage or not, we have to neutralize him." Hung Guangjian removed his coat, checking the bullets in his service firearm. He then eyed Mian Tianyu. "Master Mian, I'm going to have to bother you with my presence."

"It's okay." Mian Tianyu petted Li Feng's head before the two men went to enter the building.

Li Feng only watched as his grandfather and the detective entered the place along with two more officers. His fingers curled as he glared at the building that seemed to be morphing before his eyes.

If the place wasn't this bad, they would still be investigating the secret route. However, the readings were already so shocking that Mian Tianyu decided to cleanse the place first. Moreover, there was this deal with Shao Yi. Could it be that he had also been affected by the miasma?

"Jin? Why are you here?" Officer Yu's voice broke Li Feng's reverie. When he turned, Ruan Jin had run to their group and looked up at the building. Li Feng sighed at him. "I didn't know it's this bad now. I could have—"

"Shut it. It wasn't like this two days ago." Ruan Jin snapped at him without even sparing him a gaze. "Do you know? Lingling is cowering in fear again. Most entities in the city were also doing the same. They were saying all the same thing…

"A king has awakened."

Li Feng's eyes bulged out, same with Li Yunru and Kang Jun who was establishing a connection with Mian Tianyu. If this was days before, he would have been so clueless. However, he had been looking into more and more about ghosts and their hierarchy.

A simple chat with Qiao Shan had given him answers that even probably Mian Tianyu wouldn't say. Whenever the ghosts gathered or quivered, it was because a ghost king was nearby. Moreover, they do all refer to the entity as 'king'.

The man grabbed Ruan Jin's collar. "Tell me you're lying! There's no way a king would awaken in one night! That black thing was not even a greater ghost from the last time I had felt its presence in the dorms! It can't become a—"

Ruan Jin grabbed his hand on his collar. "F.u.c.k, Li Feng! Listen to me first!"

Silence and a loosened grip were Li Feng's reply. Ruan Jin then continued, "Ling said that some entities saw a few people break in the closed dorm last night, and they seemed to have shaken up the residents. Then, the big boss of the dorm was also disturbed. They said that—"

"The black thing was eaten?" Li Feng completed Ruan Jin's sentence.

Ruan Jin's nod sent Li Feng running to the mobile where Tang Ernian was. He then tapped the glass, and the officer rolled down the window just so they could talk to each other. "Ernian, the thing that took Shao Yi… is it black?"

"No, man… it's a girl but huge and long-armed like… really long arms!" Tang Ernian curled down. "Dark hair, no eyes… what is that? Is that even worse than the Weeper? I felt like I shat myself twice just thinking about it."

"F.u.c.k, it's really a king..."

Li Feng then ran off again, but he didn't come back to where everyone else was. He went directly behind the dorm and looked for the opening of the secret route. He found out that it had been sealed from the outside. The desperate man then used his hands to pry off the boards.

His blood drew on the edges of the board as he forced his entry. "I have to warn Grandfather. There's no way a cleanse could kill a ghost king."

Piak! The board broke, and his fingers burned at the wounds. Li Feng cried out in pain, but he tried to do it again. "F.u.c.k, dammit! Xiaodan! I'm begging you! Help me!"
