Chapter 136 - Bad Boy

Liu Xiaodan blinked. Guangru had said a lot of strange things, but he was very concerned when Guangru mentioned this one name. He then got up from his bed. His eyes were still on the child curled up next to him. He then spoke after a while. "What do you mean… Granny Qian? Mom is… like me, how?"

As if finding an avenue to show off, Guangru smiled and got up from his spot. He then reached out, but he seemed to have fished for something inside Liu Xiaodan. When his hand came out, he had the Mother's lamp with it. Liu Xiaodan's body shuddered at the feel of having something actually took out from inside him… especially one that he had forgotten about.

That lamp belonged to the Mother, and so Liu Xiaodan tossed away the possibility of using it again. He shouldn't be using something that didn't belong to him as he had no idea what it might consume from him. Therefore, he had forgotten about it.

However, Guangru held onto it right now. It looked rather big in the hands of a small child. He then took his father's hand, and the lamp lit. The surroundings blurred and then turned to black. After that, it morphed again and turned into a research lab.

Liu Xiaodan grabbed his mouth as he gasped at both the place and the coldness of the floor on his b.u.t.t. He quickly got to his feet and picked up the child with the lamp. Guangru let go of the lamp, and it turned into smoke again… only to enter Liu Xiaodan's body like before.

"Where are we, Guangru?" Liu Xiaodan whispered and saw that no one was around. The design of the place was like the laboratories in the movies he had seen before. Long tables abounded as well as computers and shelves of flasks and tall freezers. He walked around barefoot and seemed to have lost all his body temperature just to keep his soles from burning because of the cold.

"…there." Guangru pointed at the computer with a wide screen just against the wall. The computer looked unassuming, but seeing that it had no keyboard meant that the operations must be from tapped on the screen instead. Liu Xiaodan bit his lip as he knew things like those would need special permission to be opened. However, the light just turned on, and the computer started.

What marveled Liu Xiaodan was that, when the password dialogue box came up, asterisks appeared as if Guangru knew the password. At once, the interface showed up before folders started opening like Guangru was skillfully manipulating the machine… while knowing what he was looking for in the sea of folders and files inside. One file came up, and it showed Liu Xiaodan's data.

From weight, height, and physical appearance to his DNA sequence; it was all being displayed. Moreover, there were a lot of notes when it came to the blood work attached to his file. It looked very normal on the surface; besides being AB negative, nothing else on it made sense to Liu Xiaodan.

However, in the next diagram, it was a detailed report using strange methods. Ten percent was made of foreign contaminants that were responsible for his blood allergy. It's just that, when examined carefully, they seemed to be matched to certain mutagens that only Cherry seemed to have a record of.

"Traces of faded blood… precipitations of left-over power of numerous possessions by strong entities on a subject," Guangru whispered, but he spoke in such a tone that he was just repeating what he heard. The child then hummed as he made the computer close all those folders and accessed another file.

The next file shocked Liu Xiaodan… as it was…

"Mom?"

Wu Qianqian's blood analysis was in the computer, and it was analyzed through the same strange methods. However, the foreign contaminants were only resulting in three percent. Her blood also had a lot of seemingly deactivated mutagens from various serums injected inside her.

It's just that… none of those showed up on Liu Xiaodan… as if they were all filtered out.

"Is this what she meant by… 'it would have been better if I wasn't your mother'?" Liu Xiaodan frowned, but he was filled with sorrow rather than shock or anger. For such serums to be in her blood, she must have suffered from a lot of injections. It's a surprise that she didn't fear hospitals and injections yet.

Moreover, these mutagens were evidence of multiple experimentations...

"Baba, I saw them do this when you were sleeping. I completely forgot about it when you woke up." Guangru turned to his father. He felt free to say such a thing as if he knew Liu Xiaodan was also forgetful.

"It's fine…" Liu Xiaodan stared at the screen. "How did they manage to get a sample of Mom's blood? There's no way she would let them collect blood from her without a reason. We don't even have the same blood type."

Flick! The lights suddenly turned on, and Liu Xiaodan covered his eyes to save it from momentary blindness. When he came to, he saw Yun He standing by the door and holding onto the light switch. The nurse then walked towards him casually, aware of the killer child in Liu Xiaodan's arms.

Moreover, he even reached out to pet Guangru. "Bad boy. Who said you're allowed to use my access code without permission?"

He then stepped back and showed his pager with a code use alert. Yun He sighed and skimmed the files they were looking at. "Those are confidential. You shouldn't have taken a look."

"You knew what they were doing here?" Liu Xiaodan frowned at him.

"I had an idea before, but ever since you started doing things that they were hoping to see in their experiments, they forced me to join the project… to watch over you." Yun He chuckled with ridicule. "They said you'd trust me. Guess I wouldn't have enough of that now.

"It's okay. I don't know a lot, but I'll answer whatever question I can." Yun He sat on one of the desks. "I've always wondered about the things that they do to my patients. Now that I know, it's increasingly getting hard to lie to the patient's faces…"

Liu Xiaodan only looked at him. The father then took the seat and sat down. "Nurse Yun, you look and feel like a good person. Why did you agree to let them do this to your patients?"
