Chapter 184 - Good Opportunity to Stir up Trouble

Not only did the growl make Li Feng's body shudder, but it was also laced with negative intent. He instantly kicked off his blanket and looked around to find where it was coming from. Even the psychics and the closet shamans that were a bit close to Li Feng's level felt the rattle that was brought by this growl. Since they didn't see anything around them, they figured it was just their imagination—

Chuan Nayi's high-pitched scream echoed from the toilets, and Li Feng was the fastest one to get to the door. However, the door burst from inside as someone forced it to open.

"Help! Help!" He screamed, but the rest was too horrified to pay attention to his words. His right arm was missing, and his side was evident of an attack. Big, sharp claws had carved through his body and made him bleed so much. He even fell down without reaching the door, much to everyone's horror.

Li Feng wanted to help, but he was more concerned with Chuan Nayi. When he tried to proceed inside, a human-sized black bear squeezed itself through the door frame. Another person was trying to get away from its mouth, but the blood loss from his injuries was weakening him.

Spat! The black bear spat the man in front of Li Feng… before vanishing.

Everyone didn't know how to react. They all clearly saw a monstrous black bear, and yet it was gone just like that. The strange presence vanished alongside its image, and so they figured it was truly gone. Li Feng skipped the other man and went to see Chuan Nayi on the floor. She was curled up and trembling; her clothes were bloodied, but it didn't look like the blood was from her.

"Nayi!" Li Feng kneeled down and pulled her by the shoulder. She lifted her face to find him in front of her, and she moved through the slippery bloodied floor and grabbed onto his arms. She didn't hug him, but she felt safe within those strong arms he's got. However, Li Feng wasn't paying attention to her anymore… as he stared at the dead body seemingly stuck on the wall.

The body, however, moved forward and fell with a soft splatter. Li Feng looked away before attending to the trembling woman. "It's okay now… it's okay now…"

Chuan Nayi only lifted her face to meet his gaze… before smiling despite having tears flood from her eyes.

It's just that Qiao Shan didn't even bother. She only stayed on her bed and kept to herself. She was still staying in the Lodging Hall even if she was about to be removed from Red Scales Noah. Ruan Jin couldn't help but actually leave her since she was practically safe when everyone else actually left the room. What could happen to her?

Ruan Jin wanted to get closer, but the mediums were barred by the management to do so. From the stairs, he could see that three body bags were being taken away from the room. The mediums started to whisper, but they were quite silenced when two soldiers in tactical gears escorted Chuan Nayi in her wheelchair. Her clothes were drenched in blood, but she looked radiant under the vanishing light from inside the room.

The horseman watched her wheeled away by a nurse, and he gulped down the lump in his throat. Since he was a known associate of that woman just now, the rest of the medium suddenly felt apprehensive. However, they had seen how powerful his companion was. It wouldn't be easy to defend against him if ever. Ruan Jin took advantage of the gazes and made his way closer, just enough to see if anyone else was harmed.

As for Li Feng, he was trying to vouch for Chuan Nayi while negotiating with the supervisor. However, the supposedly seductive eyes of Qiao Yun were replaced by anger. Perhaps because it was the middle of the night, and she was supposed to be asleep? Moreover, she was wearing a rather unflattering thick fleece jacket.

"I swear she has no reason to do something like this… or the capability! You saw—!" Li Feng was shocked when Qiao Yun growled lowly and grabbed his mouth to stop him from talking. "Listen here, Young Master Li. The facility has rules, and we're not skipping that for your little mother. Go back to bed."

The supervisor then eyed the mediums by the stairs and clutched at the fleece jacket. "All of you, go back to bed! We will be giving sanctions to those who are not in bed after ten seconds! Ten!"

Everyone rushed back, but Ruan Jin tried not to be taken away by the raging sea. He endured the pushes of the mediums rushing up the stairs before actually walking down. Qiao Yun only eyed him while he tried to do his best mean face. For some reason, the horseman wasn't f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y taken back.

"Dude, what happened?" Ruan Jin met with Li Feng outside the door, and Li Feng narrated what he had seen. The horseman then frowned and whispered at Li Feng, "Ling actually said that it was Old Xiong that came. Judging from the state of those guys, it was plausible that a bear would be behind it."

"Don't be ridiculous. Old Xiong is supposed to be a guardian. Guardians don't do something horrendous like this." Li Feng looked back and find some staff trying to clean the floor. He then turned to Ruan Jin again. "Listen to me, Jin. It can't be a guardian."

Ruan Jin frowned deeper, but he knew that Ye Ling couldn't be mistaken. "Yeah, but that's a guardian that followed a demon baby so… what else could it not be, yeah? Okay, let's talk about this tomorrow. Try to get some sleep. We need to rescue Nayi if she gets in trouble… I mean, the more Xiaodan interferes, the more trouble he creates. Good opportunity to stir up shit and escape."

The young master opened his mouth, but he just closed it after a second. Ruan Jin was right. Even the black horse had adapted to a ghost-like presence rather than a strong saintly one for being a guardian. He only said goodbye to Ruan Jin and walked back to his bed. Ruan Jin only watched him go away before turning around to head back to his room. However, by the stairs, a pair of soldiers stopped him.

"Ruan Jin, follow obediently."
