Chapter 217 - Insider

The eyes of the possessed man turned to Liu Xiaodan, and the ghost inside shuddered uncontrollably. This man was a lot more fearful than his King. Since it was given the chance to run, it dashed out of Min Ye. Its body even looked like it was made of paper softly blowing in the wind. The ghost ran to the other side, but it spotted Guangru at the corner of its eye.

Liu Xiaodan carried Min Ye back to his bed, and Nurse Miao operated the machine. She quickly intubated the man again as if racing against his impending death. "...I'm sorry, Xiaodan," Nurse Miao spoke. She figured those people on the fourth floor had grown on Liu Xiaodan already despite the short stay he had with them. To see them pass away like this? "I should tell Nurse Yun. If only I could contact him, it would have been better."

"Nurse Yun's dead." Liu Xiaodan murmured. He only heard Guangru say it, but he knew someone as cold and hateful as Wu Zhong would be able to pull the trigger just like that. Moreover, it felt real. Liu Xiaodan walked out of the room and let the nurse close the door. She then ran to the other room and used her key card to open it. She had also heard that a patient was inside. Nurse Miao hurriedly went to check up on Meng Guo as Liu Xiaodan flipped the lights on. The room seemed to be designed to hold patients that would soon receive the red seed. Guangru entered along with Nine and Mian Qingtao. The two put Li Feng on the bed and sat on the floor. At last, they were able to take a break from the dangers. The glass door closed from Guangru's pull, and the lock automatically engaged. That way, they wouldn't be attacked by anything that just decided to jump out of nowhere.

Nurse Miao left Meng Guo on the floor to check up on Li Feng. Liu Xiaodan then went close to her and sat down next to her. "Sorry about earlier. Your voice couldn't reach me."

"You're an a.s.s for pretending not to see me." Meng Guo, however, still embraced the man as if she was looking for something warm to ease her fear. It's just that she pulled back slowly; this man was actually like a cold, dead body. "Those scary things from outside wanted to eat me."

She then sighed as she concluded her check on Li Feng. "He's not a normal child. He's actually—" Nurse Miao then paused as her words resounded in her head first before she spoke. She turned to Guangru and had a gaze filled with pity. She then passed the gaze onto Liu Xiaodan. "Does he know about Nurse Yun?"

"…I do." Guangru's expression changed for a split-second. He then tugged on the soldier again, but his words were for the female nurse. "That's why I broke the maze. I figured that, even if I can't kill Mr. Wu, I must be able to destroy what he treasured the most—this facility."

His mouth then broke into a malevolent grin. "Isn't that what Big Brother Feng's Daddy thinks, too?"

Nine twitched. The demon actually knew about Li Feng's father? Wait… he… the child knew about their plan?! His body trembled under the ghostly gaze of the demon child as he recalled the phases of the plan. There was no way things would be so smooth if no one was helping them from inside. Even the doctor joked that they did have an insider, but it's just a small child.
