Chapter 259 - Where is Safer?

Liu Xiaodan didn't get mad at all. Chuan Nayi had always been smart and thoughtful. It's just that… she didn't know that Wu Zhong was repeatedly trying to kill Liu Xiaodan. This method… would never bear good rapport despite the results. He only reached down to pull Sun Yinxie up. "I don't know how you can arrive safely, but I can send you to the Lodging Hall. Find your way to your father on your own."

"You're really letting me go?" Sun Yinxie was shocked. Then again, since Liu Xiaodan had indeed done this a lot, he wasn't really surprised. It's just that… he didn't say anything worth his life.

"I promised to let you go, didn't I?" Liu Xiaodan took out his old lamp. "Besides, I need you to send a message to Mr. Wu. Tell him… that his grandson is not happy with him no matter what happens next. The grandson hopes that Mr. Wu would surrender his life as soon as possible." Liu Xiaodan then smiled. "I don't really want him to lay his filthy hands on my mother ever again."

Sun Yinxie didn't know what exactly those words mean, but he was more attracted by the faint light that shone behind him. He turned around to face it, trying to decipher what it was. Before he could say something, Mian Qingtao actually kicked the poor man into the light. As it was a portal, he was only absorbed by it.

When the light vanished along with Sun Yinxie, Mian Qingtao laughed out. "Man, I've always wanted to do that."

"Glad to help." Liu Xiaodan only hummed as he hid the lamp. "You mentioned an Auntie Lengleng?"

"...yeah, that's my mom's elder sister. I heard that she and Mom actually underwent these strange projects in the Qiao family, but it seemed to have failed… or not. Auntie Lengleng actually just disappeared one day while Mom was killed. Since we carried Mom's blood, we were taken by these people. I was just… I was just thrown out like garbage because I didn't fit their project." Mian Qingtao glared at the floor. "They didn't even care I returned."

"Probably because they thought you're too powerless to be minded," Du Zhizhuo spoke, but Mian Qingtao was actually mad for hearing those words. As for Liu Xiaodan and Chuan Nayi, they only remained quiet. Mian Qingtao then reached out to pat Liu Xiaodan. "I want to apologize on my auntie's behalf. This Project Hades shouldn't have been hers alone. Now, two more people got implicated..."

Liu Xiaodan then turned to the soldier. "Tell that to my mom if you managed to meet her. She's the one with the most guilt in her heart about this." He then smiled. "I barely know anyone from Mom's side of the family. I guess with everything like this, it's not very strange for us to meet here at all. Ah, I should start calling you 'Uncle'..."

Mian Qingtao froze. What was this baby monster saying?

"Xiaodan's mother's name is Wu Qianqian, she's born to Wu Zhong and Mian Lengleng." Chuan Nayi explained for Mian Qingtao. "You heard that Project Hades started with your auntie, right? Well, it seemed that the serum more likely evolves the more it gets passed on from one generation to another."

"...oh..." Mian Qingtao only laughed dryly, not knowing if he should feign his 'glad to meet you' or be blunt about his unwillingness. Then again, it was already here. Moreover, he didn't want to deliberately make Liu Xiaodan less caring about him so he just rubbed his head in apology. "Erm, yes, yes… I'll be 'Uncle' from today… but it will be weird since Feng'er calls me by name. You know what, let's just stick to our names."

Liu Xiaodan didn't mind. He never called anyone Uncle anyway. Liu Li had no siblings and live parents, and Wu Qianqian lived on her own until her mother died from her illness. At the very least, the Liu family was quite very small—just the three of them. The idea of his mother returning to the Mian family felt so weird, but that was her decision to make. If anything, Liu Xiaodan would be happy they wouldn't be lonely anymore.

Then, he remembered something. "Ah, Qingtao… have you seen Feng? He made off with my child."

"Made off with Guangru? Can't you use your other ghosts to look for them? I mean, they should all be connected since they draw power from Guangru, right?" Mian Qingtao lifted his brows. He just saw one of the friends, and so he was positive they were around.

"...I… forgot." Liu Xiaodan was so fixated on looking for Li Feng and Guangru that he forgot about the other ghosts. To think about it, everyone else was outside his body. He then looked around as if wanting to spot anyone. "I'll look for Ming and the rest. Stay here, Nayi."

However, before he could leave, Chuan Nayi actually held onto his arm. She then frowned. "I'm not leaving your side again. Let's look together. It might be dangerous for me, but where exactly is safer?"

Liu Xiaodan's eyes flickered, and he could only give in to the woman's demand. 'Where exactly is safer?'

He just reached out his hand, and Chuan Nayi walked to hold it. She blushed faintly before Liu Xiaodan turned to the two soldiers. "Please be alert. I don't know when the Black March is coming or if they would be able to get here. Try to protect the people and yourselves. I'll see you around."

He walked hand-in-hand with Chuan Nayi, soon jogging away to look for the source of welling negative aura at the end of the floor. They were watched by the two until they vanished in the darkness.

Du Zhizhuo then laughed out. "How does it feel to be blood-related to Hades?"

A faint white light showed itself in the bridge in between the Lodging Hall and the Treatment Hall. The group of soldiers watching that place felt a fear treading through their veins as they thought a strong King would show up. However, their leader only told them to not shoot until he said so. In the end, a figure fell out of the light that quickly vanished after delivering the man.

Sun Yinxie rolled out of the portal, his hand on his back where Mian Qingtao had kicked him. He never thought that that stupid man would even dare to kick the son of their boss. However, when he lifted his face, he stared at all those nozzles facing him. He then looked up some more and saw a familiar uniform approaching.

Seven looked down at Five, his raised brow hidden in his helmet. "Say something before I get you shot."

"S-Seven, you're still alive! Wait, no, wait… I have nothing to do with what Sergeant Song did! I swear, I swear!" Sun Yinxie raised his hands in front of his face as if very scared that he would certainly be shot. However, his invisible dog ears then perked up when Seven took out his radio. It's just that some soldiers jumped on him and pressed on the ground. "Control, this is Seven. We have Sun Yinxie in custody."

"Dad! Dad, save me!"
