Chapter 258 - Do You Believe Him, Xiaodan?

Burned?! Twisted?!

Sun Yinxie felt strange as he did know that burning an entire hall was not something any of them should do unless they're part of the saboteurs. He didn't know why Song Qixi thought that he was actually free to feed humans to a king at the expense of burning an entire hall. However, he couldn't deny that there was a burning done by Song Qixi… and that they weren't there with him.

"F.u.c.k..."

Sun Yinxie dropped the knife, but Liu Xiaodan continued holding onto it. The soldier then curled up and grabbed the sides of his hair. After a while, he just murmured, "How about the director? Is he dead, too? He's rather tight with that sergeant."

Since Du Zhizhuo and Mian Qingtao were with them, Liu Xiaodan hoped that someone else could have answers for him. Of course, Du Zhizhuo spoke up… especially when Liu Xiaodan glanced his way. "Director Sun is not with Sergeant Song during that time. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't dare to kill the director without orders. I just don't have a confirmation from any—wait."

Du Zhizhuo turned around and fiddled with his watch. His brows frowned at the messages that he failed to read before keying in his own question. The brows then lifted before the soldier turned to Liu Xiaodan instead. "Director Sun is currently with Mr. Wu and Master Qiao. He should have been taken away, but he's quite insistent on staying. I guess I know why."

"...tell me what you know about the Black March and that Mr. Wu. I won't ask you again." Liu Xiaodan looked down at the soldier on the floor.

However, Sun Yinxie only chuckled and laughed out. He went for the knife that he left on Liu Xiaodan's hand. With a slip from the grip, blood spurted from Liu Xiaodan's hand as Sun Yinxie claimed the knife. Sun Yinxie actually placed the knife against his neck. "Hey, look… this is my dad's blood, sweat, and tears. You really expect me to help you destroy it? So long, suckers."

Bang! Sun Yinxie struck the blade against his neck, causing the two other soldiers to be alarmed. However, the blood on the blade moved towards him faster than his own hand. Before he could stab himself, the blood hit his neck like a punch. Sun Yinxie choked and dropped the knife, his hands wrapping around the neck that radiated with pain—but it wasn't enough to kill him.

"Sun Yinxie, I understand your reasoning." Liu Xiaodan moved his hand, and the blood brought the knife to him. He held onto the blade with the wounded hand, and the blade actually rusted on his touch. "Give me a reason to give you back to your father alive."

"Xiaodan, I give up, I give up..." Sun Yinxie choked out as he stayed on the ground. He then started acting like someone was beating him up and held his hand out as if asking for mercy. "I don't know a lot about the contingency. If we're going to talk about the moles in the bodies of the nurses in the Administrative Hall, I can help you. Look, Dad is not handling the contingencies so we're really both clueless.

"That Mr. Wu is the occultism consultant of the facility. He's the main man between the Qiao family and Dad. He knows more about this Black March than anyone." Sun Yinxie actually didn't want to dislodge his useless information; he was scared that Liu Xiaodan wouldn't be happy and would feed him to a King so he tried to kill himself. It's just that… he could not even do it. "Yeah, he and Sergeant Song as in charge with the Kings!"

Sun Yinxie then prostrated in front of the father. "…Mr. Wu has his own private army and this… this beautiful daughter. If she was ten years younger, I'll totally hit on her, too. That daughter is like the original Project Hades." The man couldn't help but blabber useless things, hoping that Liu Xiaodan would just stop asking and start sending him away. He couldn't stop talking unless Liu Xiaodan said so…

The soldier continued: "The daughter… ah… right, the daughter is like close to the Li family. Mr. Wu wanted to have her back so he wanted to crush the Li family as a consequence of her rejection of him. The Qiao family has his support as well. T-That's why they're at odds with that Li Heilong guy. Wait, this is already so personal..." Sun Yinxie realized that this might not be really helpful at all.

"Continue. Did the daughter come here to the facility even once?" Liu Xiaodan asked, and the man shook his head. "Never. I only saw her photos. If I was her dad, I'd want her back, too. Hahaha… wait… uhm… right, Mr. Wu doesn't have power over the Qiao family so… if you want to stop the Black March, you talk to that Master Qiao."

Liu Xiaodan only nodded. The man's words were very messy, but at least there were things to be picked up from. It's just that Mian Qingtao pursed his lips before speaking. "His daughter is the original Project Hades? Is that why they needed Qingwei? Because Mom's blood was the actual activator of that project..."

"Why didn't they opt for you then?" Du Zhizhuo turned to him. Mian Qingtao only twisted his lips. "Qingwei inherited all of Mom's abilities. She left shit for me. Anyway, as much as I remember… Project Hades is a genetic project that started with Auntie Lengleng. How did it become his daughter? Are there two projects? Erm, that doesn't matter now though..."

"Do you believe him, Xiaodan?" Chuan Nayi walked behind the men and looked down at Sun Yinxie on the ground. "That this is all personal?"

"It had become personal to me no matter what happens. I just feel better knowing why Mr. Li decided to involve himself. I thought it was just because of Feng." Liu Xiaodan nodded. He then turned to her. "Do you think otherwise, Nayi?"

Chuan Nayi shook her head. "He also told me the same thing. That he just wanted Auntie Qianqian to come back, and he's willing to spill the blood of his daughters' friends for it. Moreover, he also thought he's protecting his grandson this way… letting him know what he has become… in a controlled environment like the facility."

A chuckled came from Liu Xiaodan. "Is that why you agreed to help him?"

The three soldiers couldn't help but dart a look at this woman. However, Chuan Nayi didn't care about them; she only felt a little guilty towards Liu Xiaodan. "You don't know what's waiting for us out there. Not only the Qiao family will be after walking artillery, but even the other big families are willing to do things. The Mian and Li families cannot protect you on their own. For a moment, I thought it's best for you to exercise it."
