Chapter 597 - 184: Tell Me The Truth

Catherine's hair was l.u.s.trous, shimmering with a silk touch. The red dye faded from the root of her hair. Sean could smell the faint fragrance of shampoo.

Sean crossed his fingers in her hair with a focused look, like there was nothing more important.

Catherine saw the reflection of his good-looking face in the mirror. His look was cold yet gentle. As he crossed his fingers among her hair, she felt his devotion.

Catherine wished this moment could last forever. She had Sean who loved her, vice versa, she loved him.

Catherine felt sweetness springing up in her c.h.e.s.t and gave Sean a gentle look. As they exchanged looks, they were both moved.

"It's okay." Sean's voice was a bit gruff.

"Alright."

"Finish your hot tea and lie down."

"Okay."

Sean found that Catherine didn't talk back this time. She listened to whatever he said.

As Catherine took sips of the tea, Sean looked at her in a way that made her nervous.

"What's wrong?" asked Catherine.

Sean said, "Why didn't you tell me?" Catherine didn't tell him anything when they talked on the phone days ago. She told him everything was okay. But it wasn't.

"Well?" asked Sean.

"It's not a big deal. I can take care of it."

"That's how you handle it? By giving up?"

"I don't know if he is a man that hold grudges. I thought everything would be fine after the training. But my period came."

"Will you keep this from me as long as I don't show up?"

Catherine said, "I can't trouble you all the time with my own things. It'll make me look incompetent."

"You do seem so."

Catherine admitted she underestimated Hunter and overestimated what she was capable of. She had to put up with the fact he was right.

One second earlier, Sean was sweet. Then he started asking questions. Catherine knew she couldn't get away with it. It was typical of Sean.

"I'm sorry."

Catherine thought by making an honest apology would make Sean go soft.

"Really?"

"Yes."

Sean knew he was a must to be blamed as Catherine. He asked Geoffrey to come back, or he would know sooner. He failed to protect her.

"My tummy hurts," Catherine said.

"Lie down."

Sean tucked her in and lowered the temperature, "Close your eyes and go to sleep."

Catherine closed her eyes and smiled. Her trick worked. Sean didn't purse.

Sean looked at her and saw through her thoughts. But he went along with it knowing she wasn't feeling well.

Catherine didn't wake up until seven at night. She got her phone, and there were several calls. Her phone was set on mute. Sean must do it while she was asleep.

Knowing Catherine got back, Sophia asked her to take plenty of rest and don't overthink.

Ethel tried to find out her relationship with Sean. But Catherine didn't tell her.

"Hey."

Sean opened the door and saw Catherine sitting on the bed and staring at the blankness.

"Are you still in pain?" asked Sean.

Catherine said, "I feel much better."

"Tell me the truth."

"I'm in a little pain, just a little."

"Get downstairs and have dinner."

"Okay."

As Catherine was about to sit up, Sean held her up. She hurried to cross his neck with her hands. She found Sean enjoyed doing this.

Susan didn't wake Catherine up and kept dinner warm for her. Seeing Catherine got downstairs, she brought it out.

"Mrs. Blair, have some soup."

"Okay."

Catherine didn't feel like eating. She stopped after taking a few bites.

Sean stopped too.

"Are you finished?" asked Catherine.

"I'm stuffed."

Catherine only saw him eat a little. She didn't believe him.

"But-"

"It's honey."

"Okay. Honey."

"What's it?" asked Sean.

Catherine rolled her eyes. She said, "I didn't ask for sick leave."

"You don't have to go to school these days. Have some rest at home."

"What about the training?"

"You don't have to go."

Sean's look wasn't good when he said it. What happened with Catherine shocked him.

He knew Catherine would pass out on the ground without telling him if he didn't come by. The thought made him mad.

"That's better. I didn't want to do it anyway. It's exhausting. Hey, check and see if I get sunburnt."

Sean didn't respond.

"Just tell me." Catherine wouldn't give up.

Sean kissed her.

Catherine was a bit frustrated since Sean treated her like a fragile doll. After dinner, he asked her to lie down. Without his permission, she couldn't leave the bedroom nor use her phone or computer.

Catherine thought she got a lot better. But Sean still thought she was pale, which upset and made him feel bad. He really didn't know what to do about her.

It was four in the morning when Catherine woke up again. It was quiet in the room.

Catherine took a look at Sean, who was in sound sleep next to her. He breathed into her neck. His cold appearance got gentle, and he looked so harmless.

Catherine crept out of the room at an idea. She made a quiet trip outside and came back with a medicine kit.

Catherine dipped the Q-tips into the medical potion to release the swelling pain and applied on his knuckles gently. She knew this was nothing to him. But she felt bad.

It was because of her that Sean got into a fight. He might be beaten up if he didn't have such great fighting skills.

Catherine blew at the swelling knuckle as she applied the potion as if it would release the pain. She was too focused to notice that Sean has opened his eyes.

Sean stared at Catherine's lovely face as warmth was springing up in his heart. He frowned because of the stinking medicine smell. The atmosphere was nice.

Sean's hands were both swollen. Catherine looked up, and Sean closed his eyes instantly.

The medicine was too smelly for Sean. He wished he could squeeze his nose, but he tried to spare her feelings.

Catherine was finally done. She put away the kit and stared at Sean. He was too good-looking that Catherine was never tired of looking at him.

Suddenly, Sean held Catherine up on the bed, "Do you have enough sleep?"

"Did I wake you up?"

"It smells."

Catherine felt a bit guilty, "I applied something to help the pain."

Sean held her tightly, buried his head around her neck, and smelt the fragrance. "Are you feeling bad?"

"Yes."

Sean felt a bit hard to breathe smoothly. Then he turned her head around and kissed her on her soft lips.
