Chapter 709 - 34: Failed Plan

Hearing her mutter, Drake put down the quilt. Then Angelo slipped into his c.h.e.s.t like a fish.

Feeling the warmth in his c.h.e.s.t, somehow, Drake's heart was on fire.

Just then, Angelo rubbed her head against his c.h.e.s.t and gave a happy smile. Drake, however, felt the change of his body.

He wrenched himself away from Angelo and hurried out of the room.

Feeling the cold of the night, Drake suppressed his d.e.s.i.r.e. He picked up the newspaper, but his mind had drifted away.

The last time Angelo slept with him in a drunken state, he was simply concerned about this younger adopted brother.

But just now, he felt strange, and his body had a s.e.x.u.a.l impulse.

He was upset. He knew it was abnormal and just kept it deep in his heart.

The following day, Angelo got out of bed and stretched, feeling her head dizzy.

She walked out of the room as she rubbed her head. When she saw Drake eating breakfast at the table, the memory of last night kept coming to her.

"Morning, Drake."

Thinking of what happened last night, Angelo felt a twinge of frustration. She walked up to Drake, smiled, and greeted him cautiously.

Drake made up his mind to keep a distance from Angelo after last night, so when he saw Angelo came to him, he put down the fork, stood up, and left.

Looking at the back of Drake, Angelo felt a growing sense of regret.

God, she must offend Drake badly this time.

Sensing Drake's alienation, Angelo felt like slapping herself when Absolon walked over.

"Mr. Angelo, Mr. Drake has booked a ticket for you to go back. I will send you to the airport after breakfast."

"Okay."

Angelo poked her fork at the steak, thinking Drake was trying to drive her back out of sight.

She knew she had no reason to stay. She had not only failed to please Drake but had made the relationship between them even worse.

After breakfast, Angelo packed her stuff and went to the airport with Absolon. Then she boarded the plane to fly home.

When she got off the plane, she remembered that she hadn't called Hale. Just as she pulled out her cell phone, it rang.

Looking at the unknown number, Angelo thought about it and refused to answer it. Later she found Hale's number and was about to call her when the number called again.

Angelo was upset for failing to please Drake, so she didn't answer it.

At this moment, she received a message.

"I'm Doris. I get your number from Absolon."

Shortly after Angelo left, Doris went to visit her and met Absolon. From him, she learned that Angelo had left. Then she got the number from Absolon.

When she read the message, the number called again. Angelo answered after thinking for a while.

Doris's soft voice sounded, "Why didn't you tell me you were leaving? I can go with you."

Angelo didn't know how to answer her. Even she didn't know she would come back today. Besides, she didn't have her number and couldn't tell her anyway.

Although she complained inside, she managed to answer Doris before hanging up.

Then, she found that her trunk was gone.

Except for the clothes, her passport and ID card would be troublesome if she lost them.

She was anxious. Stopping a passerby, she tried to ask in a gentle voice, "Did you see a trunk here? A black one?"

The man shook his head. Angelo got more anxious and went to the service center.

When she described the trunk and the stuff inside in detail, the worker took out a black trunk.

"Thanks so much!"

Angelo thanked the worker and took over the trunk. Then she sat on a chair and opened the trunk to check her stuff.

"Where's my ID card and passport?"

She rummaged through the trunk but didn't find them. When she was worried, a man walked to her.

"You seem to have my trunk, mister. This may be yours."

A man said in a low voice and put a black trunk in front of her.

Angelo looked up at him.

"Darren Adams?"

Angelo couldn't help standing up with surprise full on her face.

Darren Adams was a popular bachelor, second only to Drake in Boom. Angelo knew him because of Daisy, the number one fan of Darren. As her good friend, she had seen Darren's photos. That was why she recognized him at first sight.

"And you are?"

Darren asked after looking at Angelo up and down. He had no impression of this young man at all.

"Oh, I'm Angelo, Daisy's friend. She talked a lot about you."

As she spoke, she reached out her hand nervously because this man wasn't a nobody.

"Oh, you're the best male friend of Daisy. She talked about you."

Darren said as he shook her hand, but Angelo somehow sensed that Darren seemed to be hostile to her.

She took her hand back and looked at the black trunk in bewilderment.

"Oh, I deposited my trunk in the service center. When I went to pick it up, the worker said he confused it with another black one. Then I happened to see you have one here. So, here I am," Darren explained.

He handed the black trunk to Angelo. Angelo opened it and found her ID card and passport in it.

"Thanks," Angelo said, giving Darren his trunk. Darren took it over with a smile.

"You're welcome, we are Daisy's friends, right?"

It was said that Darren was different from Drake, he always wore a smile. Now it seemed that it was true.

Angelo wondered, looking Darren up and down. Seeing his delicate face and warm smile, she finally knew why Daisy loved this man.

"I heard you live in the Thorne family. Shall I take you back?"

Noticing Angelo's gaze, Darren glanced up and down as he spoke. Still, he was wearing a smile, but there was more hostility in his eyes.

"No, thanks. My housekeeper will pick me up," Angelo said, taking out her phone to call Hale. But suddenly, Darren took the phone from her.
