Chapter 752 - 77: Fragments Of Memory

Thinking of what happened just now, Angelo was confused. She didn't believe Drake wanted her to take a good rest at home.

"Take a rest."

To her surprise, that was Drake's answer. Angelo spouted, thinking that Drake didn't want to tell her the truth.

Following behind Drake, she noticed that many people looked at Drake with awe and admiration, so she couldn't help looking at him again.

"Look, it's Angelo." A voice came from the crowd.

Angelo looked in the direction of the voice and saw a group of men coming towards her.

Looking at the boys, Angelo wondered in her heart, "Am I so popular that even boys are obsessed with me?"

But subconsciously, she took a few steps back. She didn't think these people came for something good.

Soon, the men surrounded Angelo. Drake was outside the circle. He looked at Angelo, being surrounded and squinted.

But then he thought that Angelo was going to take "his" responsibility and would face such a situation one day, so he decided not to interfere in it.

"Good morning, guys."

Looking at the crowd, Angelo forced a smile. She didn't remember messing with them.

She scratched her head and looked for Drake but failed.

Suddenly, "She is the person who framed Abby. Without her, Abby would have won the acting award," shouted a man among the crowd.

It turned out that they read the newspaper and thought that it was Angelo who framed Abby.

They didn't dare to do anything to Drake. But Angelo was just an adopted son of the Thorne, so they wanted to vent their anger on "him."

Angelo came to understand why they were so angry. These people must be stupid fans of Abby.

Looking at their fierce faces, she regretted meeting Abby with Drake.

But no matter what, she had to figure out a way to solve the problem. So she hurried to explain to them, "It's not what you think. You take it wrong..."

"Beat him."

The men didn't even listen to her explanation and went up to hit her. Angelo hurried to fight back.

"Drake!" shouted Angelo while fighting with those men with the moves taught by Railey.

Drake then realized something was wrong. Looking at Angelo getting beaten up, he was in a panic and hurried over to her.

Angelo was surprised to see Drake make his way through the crowd. Just then, a man held a brick and slapped her in the back of the head.

"Help, Drake."

Those were the only words before Angelo lost her consciousness. Then, she fell to the ground.

The man holding the brick looked at Angelo lying on the ground in a panic. "He's dead," he muttered. The brick fell from his hand.

Seeing that, the crowd dispersed. The man slumped to the ground. It was the first time he had ever seen anything like this.

Just then, Drake kicked the man away and lifted Angelo to give her first aid.

Looking at Angelo's blood, Drake was fl.u.s.tered and shouted to the stunned man, "Call the ambulance!"

The man dialed 911. Soon, the ambulance arrived. Before getting in the car, Drake glanced at the man coldly.

Angelo was soon sent to the emergency room. Looking at the red light on the door, Drake closed his eyes.

Angelo's bloody look was the only scene in his mind. Thinking about it, he clenched his fist. Later, he gave a call to Aiken.

After a brief talk, he hung up.

After a long time, the red light of the emergency room was finally off. Angelo was pushed to a VIP ward.

Drake then stood up and walked to the doctors. When he saw the smile on the doctors, he was finally relieved.

When the anxiety disappeared from his face, there was the usual cold look.

"What about Angelo?" asked Drake quietly.

The doctor took off his facial mask and said, "Fortunately, it was a blessing in disguise. The blood clot in the back of his head melted because of that strong hit, plus the timely rescue, and he is out of danger now. His memory may recover after he wakes up."

With that, the doctor handed the diagnosis to Drake, who answered in a low voice, took it over, and signed his name.

"You can see him now, Mr. Drake."

The doctor put the diagnosis away, looked at Drake, and went back to his office.

After some time, the effect of the anesthesia wore off. Angelo opened her eyes slowly. Then she felt the pain in her head.

"Ouch! My head."

Subconsciously, she reached for her head.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her hand. She squinted. Under the dim light of the ward, she finally saw the person clearly. It was Drake.

"Drake," she muttered, looking aggrieved.

Drake's face softened. He looked at Angelo and said lightly, "You just had an operation. Don't move."

Angelo nodded. Suddenly, she felt a tearing pain and couldn't help frowning. A few fragmentary images popped into her mind.

In the images, she was just a little kid. She saw a man drugging her brother and ran to save him. But the man pushed her away violently, hitting her head on the table and knocking her back into a coma.

"The doctor said the blood clot has disappeared from your mind. You should be able to remember everything soon."

Drake's words drew Angelo back to reality. But looking at him, she had been thinking about the images.

Then, she felt a cold touch on her forehead. When she raised her head, she saw Drake's eyes.

Looking at Angelo's big eyes, Drake's heart was racing. He withdrew his hand and looked away.

"You don't have a fever."

He coughed lightly, trying to cover his embarrassment. But Angelo didn't notice that at all. "Yeah," she answered and was lost in her thought.

Somehow, she felt that the images were related to her real identity. She tried to remember something but only brought more pain.

"Ahhh…"

Finally, she couldn't bear the pain and shouted.

"What's wrong?"

Drake frowned, sounding anxious.

"It's all right. I just think too hard."
