Chapter 763 - 88: Who’s The Lucky Girl?

Hearing Angelo's words, Drake was confused. He looked at Angelo and asked, "What do you think it is? Am I not suitable for your sister?"

Angelo then realized what she had just said. Filled with remorse, she vowed inside that she would think carefully before she spoke.

"Nothing. My sister called me and told me about it, so I kinda know about this one," she hurried to change the topic.

Thinking about Angeline's leaving figure, Drake frowned and asked, "What will she think? Did she say something about me? I mean, what did she had told you? "

"Ah... She just said it's to know that you confessed to her,"

"Really, aside from that she said nothing at all?"

Angelo scratched her hair with guilt in her eyes. She was Angeline, and all she had for Drake was fear. She shook her head to let Drake know no other words are coming from "Angeline" at all. "Brother, can I go back to my work now?"

"Yeah, go back to your work," said Drake.

But he didn't feel happy when he heard the answer from Angelo. Instead, he cared more about Angelo than Angeline.

He turned with a pair of complex eyes, wondering if it was because he didn't contact much with Angeline.

Angelo was so happy to hear the words.

"Yeah, Mr. Thorne," she answered and withdrew from the office.

She didn't relieve herself until she arrived at the secretary's office. Luckily, Drake didn't find anything about her.

But when she thought Drake told her about the confession, she felt complicated. Did Drake really love her? She wondered.

The more she thought about it, the more she was embarrassed. Her face blushed, and her heart raced.

"Are you in love, Mr. Angelo?" joked Lisa.

When she entered the office, she saw Angelo's burning face.

"No. What are you doing here, Lisa?" Angelo hurried to deny.

She loved Clarence. Drake was her brother. She couldn't love him.

But when Lisa saw her look, she gave a face as if she knew everything and laughed.

"Who's the lucky girl? I have to say, and she's so great that she can get the heart of handsome Angelo. You know, the girls in our company all have a crush on you."

Lisa told the truth. Since Angelo entered the company, many girls went to Lisa for Angelo's number, but Lisa didn't give it to anyone.

However, Angelo wanted to stop the topic. She rolled her eyes, and an idea came to her. She approached Lisa and gently raised her chin.

"Are you one of them, darling?" asked Angelo in a seductive tone, which she had learned from Patrick.

Lisa had never been flirted with by a man like this and blushed at once.

She retreated a few paces and opened the door.

"There are some files in the archives. Sort them out later," she arranged and then fled.

Angelo then breathed a sigh of relief. She touched her face and sorted out the files before going to the archives.

But what she didn't know was that Drake had witnessed the whole flirt.

Angelo had known the positions of different departments, so she soon found the archives.

What she needed to do was to compare the file and the name on it and deal with the inconsistent ones.

It was not under the secretary's charge, so Angelo guessed that Drake wanted her to know more about the company.

This work was kind of boring but calmed Angelo's heart. She checked the files one by one and found some mistakes.

"The Watts's?"

Suddenly, she saw a drawer named "Watts's Files" and couldn't help twittering a sound. Then she took out the file and started to read it carefully.

It recorded the contracts between the Thorne and the Watts's. From it, Angelo learned that the Watts used to be as powerful as the Thorne.

However, when the present Watts's family took over the business, the Watts were soon weakened. Now, they were just an average wealthy family.

When she flipped to the last page, she noticed that several pages had been torn out of the file. Out of curiosity, she took the file out of the archives.

Carelessly, Angelo handed the wrong files to different departments by mistake. Then she got back to the secretary's office with the file of the Watts's.

She looked carefully at the torn mark but couldn't figure out why. While she was trying to find out something, Drake's cold voice sounded, "What's that in your hand?"

Subconsciously, Angelo hid the file behind her. What she did was steal the classified doc.u.ment.

She shook her head and said, "Nothing. It's just a file." But her voice shivered.

Of course, Drake didn't believe Angelo, but he pretended not to care and turn to leave.

Just when Angelo was off guard, Drake suddenly took the file from her. Angelo then knew that she had been duped.

Looking at Drake's cold face, Angelo knew that she might suffer. Just as she was about to explain something, Drake said, "Come to my office."

Angelo could only follow behind Drake. Looking at his back, Angelo sighed that it was indeed a tough day.

Inside the office, Drake put the file on the bookcase and then sat on the sofa.

Looking at him, Angelo got more nervous. She thought for a while and finally decided to say something to forgive herself.

"The file is incomplete. I saw it and wanted to fix it. You know I am from Watts. I know I am wrong, brother. I didn't mean to do that."

Drake didn't believe Angelo's words, but her apologizing look pleased him.

He picked up a contract and slowly flipped through it.

"You want to know the missing part of the file, do you?" said Drake, getting to the point at once.

Angelo nodded at once but was quite surprised.

Why didn't Drake punish her but ask her the question?

"Grandma said the missing part was about you."

While Angelo was entangled, Drake told her the content about the missing part. Angelo's eyes lit up when she heard that. Could that file prove her a member of the first Watts's family?
