Chapter 764 - 89: You Knew Whom I Love

"Grandma" was Corrine, the most respectful woman in the Thorne family.

"Where's the missing part, brother?" asked Angelo. She rubbed her hands, and there was hope in her eyes. She had been in distress to find the proof to prove her as the daughter of the leading Watts's family.

"Grandma has it."

Drake flipped the files and answered casually. But then he thought of something and became serious.

"You'd better not go to grandma."

Drake's words brought the old memories in Angelo's brain. The previous Angelo had tried to please Corrine but was always being treated indifferently by her.

Corrine was a tough woman, so she didn't like Angelo's weak character. That was why she couldn't get anything good from her before.

But now, it was different. She was in this body rather than that weak girl. She was confident that Corrine would like her.

"Yeah," Angelo answered obediently. But in her mind, she was thinking about getting the missing part of the file from Corrine.

When Angelo walked out of the office, Drake stared at her back. After thinking for a while, he took out the file. He read it carefully and then realized Angelo's intention.

The time during work passed quickly.

After a brief shower, Angelo threw herself on the bed. Though there wasn't much work, she still felt sore.

While she was rubbing her shoulders, Daisy called. She answered and stuffed the phone between her ear and shoulder.

"Daisy, why are you calling so late?" asked Angelo casually, rubbing her ankle.

"I knew it, Angelo. I knew Drake loved you. See? He confessed his love to you on your first girl day."

Daisy chose to call at this time because Angelo worked in the company during the day, and others might hear their talk.

Daisy sounded quite excited. That was Daisy. Angelo couldn't do anything about her. But in her mind, she thought of the scene in which Drake said he loved her. Somehow, her heart raced randomly.

For a moment, Daisy heard nothing from Angelo. She then realized something and said, "You must be thinking about the confession, do you?"

When Darren confessed his love for her, she used to be in a daze. So, she knew what a girl in love was doing now.

"No. How's that possible? You knew whom I love?"

Angelo didn't come to herself until she heard Daisy and hurriedly refuted. Daisy, however, was disappointed when she listened to this. She almost forgot about it.

But still, she preferred Drake, and she could sense that Angelo cared about him.

Anyway, she decided to match Angelo and Drake. The only problem was she hadn't decided how to do it yet.

"Seriously, what do you call me for, honey?"

Angelo knew Daisy must be thinking about the nonsense and could only remind her. Daisy then remembered the reason she called.

"I bought an apartment in Green. I'll give you the key tomorrow."

Angelo was shocked when she heard that. The apartment of Green was very expensive, but Daisy just sent it to her.

Angelo didn't want to take such an expensive gift and refused, "Honey, I can't take it. It's too much."

Daisy understood Angelo and knew she would refuse to take it, so she had thought of an excuse in advance.

"Dear, it's not a gift but an investment. When you get famous, you have to shoot advertis.e.m.e.nts for our company."

"I'll do it without the house. You know what you meant to me. Besides, how could you know I will be famous?"

Angelo smiled and was so touched. She knew Daisy just made an excuse to make her accept the apartment.

"Since you know how close we are, you can't refuse my kindness. I spent a lot on it. It'll be a waste if you refuse it."

There was a note of pity in Daisy's voice. But then she added, "It used to be Angela's apartment. I tried so hard to get it. Live in it and take her good fortune, you will be as popular as her."

When Angelo heard that, she stayed and then remembered that she used to buy an apartment in Green. She had planned to live there after she retired, but she was murdered before she could retire. Now, even the apartment was sold.

She knew it must be sold by Ivy. After all, she only gave the key to Ivy.

Thinking of that, she clenched her fists. The fire of revenge was burning stronger in her heart. But she knew it was not the right time. She had to get the file first.

As for the apartment, she loved it. After hesitating for a second, she decided to take it.

"I'll pay you when I get famous, honey."

Hearing that, Daisy knew Angelo agreed to take it and was very happy. But she didn't care about the money Angelo wanted to pay her.

"Yeah. Bye."

After the short answer, Daisy hung up.

Angelo put the phone down. Thinking of the apartment, she clenched her fists tightly. The revenge day would not be far off, she believed.

The next day, after working for the whole morning in the company, Drake went to the shooting site on time. Soon after he left, Angelo went to the coffee shop.

After she changed, Daisy gave the apartment's key to her.

Angelo held the key tightly, thinking that it was doomed. She had to get her things back one by one.

"Thank you!"

She raised to look at Daisy with tears in her eyes. The apartment meant so much to her, so she felt fortunate to have Angelo.

"It's all right. You helped me a lot."

Daisy was shy when she saw Angelo like this. Then she looked at her eyes and said, "All right. Go to the shooting site or Drake… no, Clarence will be worried."

Angelo nodded, stuffed the key into her pocket, and took a taxi to the shooting site.

As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Drake's serious face. She forced a smile, tried to walk around him but was grabbed by him.
