Chapter 777 - 102: Don’t Be Mad At Me

Sensing the coldness from Drake, the anger in Angelo's heart faded away. Quickly, she put on an ingratiating smile.

"Drake, I… I didn't mean it. I was just angry, so don't be mad at me. I didn't think properly before reacting,"

Picking up the pen from the table, Drake was thinking about the words Angelo said. He thought of his actions just now and frowned.

Just as Angelo said, he shouldn't meddle his emotions with the business. Thinking of that, he wasn't happy. He can't even explain himself too, recently, as something keeps bothering him.

Being stared at by the serious man, Angelo swallowed. She would be screwed, she thought and slapped her mouth lightly.

No one wanted criticism, let alone Drake. She knew Drake's temperament, this man hated to be humiliated. So, she definitely shouldn't say that.

"So, what do you want to talk to me?" said Drake with a cold tone.

Angelo, who's been beating himself up, was stunned.

"What?" She subconsciously asked and then realized what Drake meant.

Cautiously, she looked at Drake and was surprised that he didn't punish her. Finally, she told him about what she saw and heard on the construction site.

After hearing her, Drake clenched the pen tightly. There were some problems with the company, but he didn't expect to have such a problem.

It seemed that he needed to do something to teach those people a great lesson. He had a busy schedule most of the time, that's why he assigned personnel who he thought can be trusted to handle important tasks.

Seeing the blue veins on Drake's hands plump up, Angelo shrank back. Cautiously, she peaked at Drake and saw the anger on his face.

After a while, Angelo finally asked, "So, what should we do, Drake?"

She was afraid she would suffocate in the silence.

"You don't need to worry about it. I'll deal with it sooner," said Drake.

But then he thought he shouldn't say that. He brought Angelo here to train her, and now it seemed to be a great opportunity.

So, he put down the pen, folded his arms in front of his c.h.e.s.t, and glanced at Angelo.

"You will be in charge of it."

Angelo was glad that she didn't need to handle anything. So when she heard that, she just widened her eyes, and her face was full of confusion.

"You must be kidding."

She gave a lamely smile and said in disbelief.

"You are in charge of the resort, remember?" Drake reminded her.

Hearing that, Angelo knew that she had to take it. Helplessly, she nodded with a bitter smile.

"Don't worry. I'll figure everything out," she promised.

Drake nodded. Then he lowered his head and focused on the contract. Seeing that, Angelo had a cautious look on her face. She walked slowly around to Drake and shook his hand with a supplicatory look.

"Can you give me some clues, Drake? I don't even know where to start. I'm still new with this kind of responsibility," said Angelo.

Her voice was quite gentle, and there was even a smile in her eyes. It used to work every time she applied it to Drake.

While she was engaging in her acting, Drake suddenly swept her hands away. He looked at her coldly with a warning in his eyes.

"Don't touch me anymore."

Hearing that, Angelo felt cold in her heart. Tears filled her eyes. She had never expected Drake to treat her like this.

"Did I do something wrong, Drake?" she asked with a grievance.

But Drake just straightened his face and looked away.

"Get out!"

His tone was even colder.

Angelo couldn't even hold the tears in her eyes anymore. She quickly swept her eyes and calmly walked out.

When Angelo was walking straight out, Corrine saw her. She put down the newspaper, pushed her glasses, and asked, "Where are you going, Angelo?"

Angelo quickly turned back. "Drake asked me to do something," she said and forced a smile but couldn't cover her tearful eyes.

Angelo was in Drake's office, so Corrine knew it must have something to do with Drake. Lightly, Corrine sighed, "Drake has been like this. Don't be serious with him."

Drake had been indifferent to people. Corrine thought Angelo must have misunderstood Drake because he could tell that Drake indeed cared about Angelo.

"No, it's not like that. It has nothing to do with Drake. There is a fly in my eyes."

Angelo knew it was her eyes that exposed her, so she hurried to rub her eyes and explain with a smile.

"That's good."

"Yeah. Excuse me, I have to deal with something now."

Angelo paced her walking, worrying that she couldn't bear her tears if she stayed here longer. Even she didn't understand why she was sad to see Drake hate her.

"No. It's late now. You can deal with it tomorrow," Corrine chimed.

When Angelo opened the door, she found stars covering the sky now. She gave a self-mocking smile.

Then she turned back and went to her room.

"Grandma, I don't want to eat dinner," said Angelo in the room.

Just then, Drake came out of his office and heard Angelo. He frowned and went to the dining room.

After what happened at noon, the cook changed the meal. So, there was home-cooking food on the table. Drake ate some casually. While he was about to leave, Corrine said, "Drake, you and Angelo are brothers. I believe you can deal with things yourself. Talk with him tomorrow, all right? You should understand your younger sibling,"

Drake stayed when he heard the word "brothers." Bitter appeared in his eyes.

Thinking of what happened during the day, he couldn't help clenching his fists.

"Yeah," he answered lightly and then went to his room.

When he closed the door, he punched on the wall. His hand was hurt, but his heart was more bitter.

Yes, Angelo was his brother, but he just fell in love with him. How could he do that?

The more he thought about it, the bitter his heart was. It added more confusion to his mind, but on his face, there was still the cold expression.
