Chapter 779 - 104: Say It Again?

But when Drake realized what he was thinking, he wasn't happy anymore. Listening to the steps following behind, he felt remorse.

When Angelo saw Drake paced up and sensed his indifference, she was puzzled. He seemed fine just now.

"Wait for me, Drake," she shouted.

But Drake didn't answer her. So, she had to trot to keep up with him.

When they got to the room, there was already sweat on Angelo's face.

Seeing them come, Corrine put down the newspaper and said, "You all come back. It's time for breakfast. Let's eat together."

"Didn't you ask me to cook?" asked Angelo, pointing at herself. There was confusion in her eyes.

Corrine didn't follow her, "No. Drake had asked them to prepare breakfast."

Angelo looked at Drake when she heard that. Soon, she thought of something and couldn't help laughing.

Hearing her laughter, Drake looked away.

"I have to deal with something first, grandma. Enjoy your breakfast."

After that, he went to his office. Looking at his hurried back, Angelo smiled more happily. Was Drake jealous when he saw the captain talking with her?

But then she changed her thoughts. No, it couldn't be. She was a "man" now. How could Drake be jealous? Thinking of that, she was kind of disappointed.

Just then, she heard Corrine say, "I'm relieved to see you become reconciled."

She then came to herself and patted her face to make herself sober. What was she thinking about? What did it have to do with jealousy?

Seeing her actions, Corrine smiled. She just wished Drake could get along with his brothers.

The smell of the meal reached Angelo's nose. She sat down and said to Corrine, "Let's have breakfast, grandma."

Corrine nodded.

After breakfast, Angelo started to worry about Drake. He had worked all night long, and he didn't eat breakfast, she didn't think his body could bear that.

With the thoughts, she prepared a plate of fruit and went to Drake's office. The door was open, so she entered.

"Eat some fruit, Drake. It's good for your health."

Hearing Angelo, Drake stopped typing but pushed the plate away.

"Thanks, but I don't want to."

He then focused on the computer. He didn't want much contact with Angelo for fearing he couldn't control him impulsively.

"Well, all right."

Angelo knew Drake and thought that he was entangled about the issue just now. So, "Yeah," she answered and went out.

When she walked out of the door, she hid somewhere. Just then, Drake looked out of the door. When he saw no one there, he looked at the plate.

Then, he found a note on it. Out of curiosity, he took the note to check.

"I'm sorry, Drake. I prepared the fruit myself as an apology. Don't be mad anymore."

Below the words, there was an emoji of sadness, which reminded Drake of Angelo and cheered him up, he even raised his eyebrows.

Then he put the note aside and picked up a strawberry from the plate. Outside the door, Angelo was poking her head to peak what happened inside. Seeing Drake's action, she smiled.

"Angelo, you can enter if you want to go to Drake."

Corrine was surprised to see the furtive Angelo here, she warned her and was about to take her into the room.

Angelo knew she was screwed when she heard that. Hurriedly, she pushed Corrine in. Drake came to them at this point.

Seeing Angelo with a guilty face, Drake understood what had just happened. There was a flash of anger in his heart. He felt he had been made a fool of.

But Corrine was there, he had to hold his anger.

"I need to talk to Angelo, grandma," he said in a low voice.

After that, he entered the office. Angelo knew what he wanted to do and was quite down. But still, she followed him in.

"Bang!"

Drake closed the door heavily. Seeing Drake like this, Angelo was scared. There was fear on her face.

"I… I just passed in front of your office…. I didn't mean to… peak…"

The words were broken but finally finished. Drake could hear her guilt. But when he thought of him being fooled like a monkey, he was in a rage.

He grabbed the plate and smashed it on the ground. Angelo was startled. Since the karate incident, she had never seen Drake being so angry.

Seeing Angelo like this, Drake held his anger and said in an indifferent tone, "Get out. Don't ever enter my office."

Hearing that, tears filled Angelo's eyes. She raised her face with stubbornness on it.

No matter in her last life or now, no one ever said that to her. What was more, these words were from Drake. She felt that her heart was being stabbed.

"Say it again?"

She struggled to hold back the urge to cry.

The sight of her stubbornness rattled Drake. But when he thought of Angelo as his brother, he was determined to end the suffering. So, he looked away, "Get out!"

There was suppression in his tone, but Angelo was so hurt that she didn't notice it. The minute she heard the words again, tears fell from her eyes.

"All right, I'll get out!" she said. Then she opened the door and went out.

When she got out of the resort, she realized that she had nowhere to go.

At this point, she couldn't hold her sadness anymore. Tears kept falling from her eyes. She found a secluded spot and let her emotions out.

Here, Drake looked at the opened door and thought of Angelo's determined look. He clenched his fists tight. Somehow, he felt his heart was empty.

"What happened, Drake?" asked Corrine.

She saw Angelo got out and came to ask Drake. Seeing the scattered fruit and plate on the ground, she started to get worried.

She wasn't in the room then, so she didn't know what happened there. But she guessed that they might fight.

"It's all right, grandma. You don't need to worry about anything. I just want to be alone now."

With that, Drake closed the door again. As he looked at the note on the table, bitterness filled his heart. Why was Angelo his brother?! He asked inside.
