Chapter 782 - 107: Why Do You Care About Him?

As soon as Daisy heard Drake, she thought of Angelo's crying face when she saw her at the resort.

So, as Angelo was about to answer Drake, she grabbed the phone, hung it up, and took the phone card out of it.

Seeing her moves, Angelo got worried. She hurriedly took the phone back, but Daisy would not give the card to her.

"Give me the card, Daisy. What if Drake has an urgent?"

"He kicked you out. Why do you care about him? As a woman, Angelo, you should be independent and have your own thoughts. At least he has to coax you."

Although Angelo knew Daisy was right, she was still worried because the resort problem had not been solved yet.

"But he…"

"No, but. Before he looks for you, just be Angeline."

Daisy interrupted Angelo before she could finish her words. She picked up the suite Angelo had taken off, took out the phone card from the pocket, and stuffed it into Angelo's hand.

Hearing Daisy, Angelo hesitated but finally put the card into her phone.

"All right. But I have to call my friend first. You keep silent."

There was a note of warning in her voice. Daisy nodded. She would agree with any requests as long as Angelo didn't go to Drake.

From the contact list, Angelo found Lisa's number and dialed it after thinking for a while.

"Hello, who's that?" asked Lisa.

It was her private number and was known by just a few people. But now, the caller was an unknown number.

"Hello, is that Miss Lisa?"

The voice sounded familiar to Lisa.

"Is that Angelo?" she asked hesitantly.

Angelo nodded and gently answered, "Yes."

She didn't change her voice, so Lisa could hear her.

"Did you change your number, Angelo?"

Lisa's tone lightened when she knew it was from Angelo.

Beside Angelo, Daisy shook her head, thinking that it must be an innocent girl being captivated by Angelo's male look. Pathetic girl! She sighed inside.

Angelo knew what Daisy was thinking about just from her face and felt quite complicated. She pushed Daisy's poking head away and said seriously, "It doesn't matter, Lisa. I need your help. Could you please investigate a man named Buck?"

Lisa came to know what Angelo wanted when she heard her. While trimming her nails, she gently asked, "Is it about the resort? It seems that you can't leave me, Angelo."

"How do you know?" Angelo was surprised. She hadn't found anything yet, so the news shouldn't spread so quickly.

"Is it about the incident at the construction site? Mr. Thorne had dealt with it yesterday. They had spread the news to the company to warn those people who had been involved in it."

"Yesterday?" asked Angelo confusedly.

She thought about it carefully and was sure that Drake had given her the task yesterday.

"Yeah, last night. Everyone in the company was startled. The whole company is still in a panic now," explained Lisa.

Hearing that, Angelo gave a lame smile. After hanging up, she smashed the phone on the sofa.

Daisy was stunned to see Angelo like this. She picked up the phone and asked, "What's wrong, Angelo?"

Tears fell from Angelo's eyes. Thinking of her inquiring about the foreman this morning, she felt she was just a joke now.

"What happened, Angelo? Don't cry."

Daisy was worried when she saw Angelo like this.

Suddenly, Angelo hugged Daisy and lay her head on Daisy's shoulder.

"I was just a joke to him. Daisy, I was just a joke to him!"

With that, her tears wet Daisy's shoulder. There was bitterness full of her tone. Daisy knew whom Angelo was talking about.

"F.u.c.k him. I'll kick his a.s.s for you."

Daisy clenched her fists, let go of Angelo, and turned to go.

She didn't know what happened. But Angelo's pathetic look made her want to kill Drake.

"No, Daisy."

Being grabbed by Angelo, Daisy was confused. She turned her head back. Looking at Angelo's sad face, she felt pain in her heart.

"Don't worry, Angelo. Drake doesn't dare to do anything to me. I'll teach him a lesson," explained Daisy, thinking that Angelo was worrying about her. After all, she was the only daughter of her family, so she didn't think Drake would hurt her.

"He's my brother anyway," said Angelo.

Daisy was stunned and looked at Angelo in disbelief.

"You still regard him as your brother? Do you fall in love with him, Angelo?"

Daisy looked closely at Angelo, and there was a look of inquiry in her eyes. She didn't think Angelo's concern for Drake was because of their family affection. Besides, they were not related at all.

"Love?" Angelo mumbled. She felt the pain in her heart. Thinking of what happened before, she felt bitter.

"What should I do, Daisy?"

She looked at Daisy, bewildered. She had never thought of falling in love with Drake one day, but now it became a truth.

Daisy felt deflated at Angelo. She loosened her fists, went to Angelo, and fondled her head.

"Your crush on him will be gone in a few days. You said you love Clarence, but you don't love him anymore. It's not a big deal."

If Angelo loved Drake, Daisy couldn't interfere with their issues, she knew it. She had to keep a distance from Drake.

"Yeah. You are right."

Angelo nodded. But she still felt hurt when she thought of Drake. That was love, she thought.

She had never experienced such feelings. If she could choose, she didn't want to fall in love with Drake. But it was late now.

Angelo looked quite frustrated. Daisy sighed slightly, went up, and hugged her lightly, burying her thought in her mind.

About one hour later, Angelo calmed down. Daisy rubbed her head.

"After feeling better?" she asked.

"Yeah. I'm much better now."

Angelo rubbed Daisy on her palm and gave a gentle smile. She told herself inside that the most important thing now was revenge, and she shouldn't think about Drake now.

"Well, you are all right, but I'm still hungry. Let's order takeout."

Daisy finally relieved and looked relaxed.
