Chapter 823 - 148: Was Drake Mad At Me?

Angelo smiled sincerely. Clarence had been like this. He had been a polite person and always talked with others equally.

In her last life as Angela, she cooperated with him a lot and then fell in love with him because of his good personality.

"By the way, where are you going, Angelo?"

Angelo didn't take anything and didn't look like going far.

"France," replied Angelo.

Clarence was surprised, wondering why Angelo took nothing with him.

"Yeah."

Angelo nodded and guessed the reason why Clarence was surprised, so she showed a relaxing look.

"Everything is arranged there. I don't need to take anything with me."

Clarence got it – he was a rich kid!

While Angelo was glad that there was a man who knew her who went to America, Clarence suddenly asked, "I happen to go to France. What time is your flight, Angelo?"

Angelo paused, then she exhaled and forced a smile, "What about yours?"

She couldn't go to France.

"Six," replied Clarence and showed his ticket to Angelo.

Angelo smiled even more and lied, "Too bad. I'm on the plane at eight."

As she said that, she put her hand behind her back, in case Clarence saw her ticket, also at six o 'clock.

"Eight? Then why are you here so early?"

"You know, the traffic jam. So bad. So, I'd better come earlier."

While Angelo was making up excuses to avoid being suspected by Clarence, there was a sudden click.

Paparazzi!

That was the word that popped up in her mind instantly. Her experiences of being a celebrity for two lives gave her a sharp sense of the noise, and she could even tell the direction of the camera.

But she didn't stand up to stop it but let the paparazzi shoot.

After all, she and Clarence were men, and it didn't matter being shot together. Instead, it could prove that she would get on the plane to France later, which would help her switch her identity back.

When it was near six o'clock, Clarence said goodbye to Angelo and went to check-in. With the excuse of walking Clarence out, Angelo got out of the airport lounge. When Clarence entered the ticket barrier, she then walked back slowly.

On the way back, she found that that paparazzi was already gone.

Then she made a call to Daisy, who then prepared herself and came to the airport in a dress later.

In the bathroom, Angelo changed her clothes and walked out as a girl. With hats and masks, she and Daisy left the airport quickly.

A few days later, Angeline came back. The Watts branch families all arrived at Boom.

Angelo went to see them and repeated the words she had said to the couple: as long as they supported her, they didn't need to hide or changed names anymore.

When Angelo got out of the Watts House, it rained slightly, just as her mood now.

The Watts compromised because of Drake, but they still entangled with her identity, not because of her career anymore but her gender.

They agreed that only Angelo, Angeline's brother, there that they would agree.

Angelo was speechless about the idea of women being inferior to men. Now she thought about it and came to understand why Angelo's grandfather disguised her as a boy.

And she didn't expect that she just became Angeline and now she needed to switch to Angelo. She wouldn't sneak out of the Thorne house if she knew that.

"Drake…" Angelo looked at Drake and tried to feel him out, "My brother seems to go abroad, did he?"

"Right."

With a calm face, Drake took the umbrella from Aiken and held it to cover himself and Angelo, "Get in the car."

Angelo wanted to see if he was angry about her sudden leave but couldn't say anything.

There was no change in Drake's face. Wasn't he angry? Angelo wondered. Then she got in the car with Drake.

In Green.

Angelo thought about it and said, "Thank you, Drake. I'll call my brother to come back."

"Yeah," Drake still replied calmly. But Angelo felt anxious as if it was the peace before a rainstorm.

"Well, I… should go home."

Angelo could only turn with trepidation. As she started to walk, she heard Drake say, "Tell him that Grandma is worried about him."

Angelo paused but soon nodded, "All right. I'll tell him about it."

After that, she entered the community. But when Drake's car drove away, she walked out. Looking at the leaving car, she felt so complicated.

That night, Drake was finally relieved when he learned that Angelo bought a ticket back. He had thought that Angelo didn't want to see him and he would never come back.

Two days later, Angelo switched her identity to the sixth young master of the Thorne. It was risky, but she had done it many times and was used to it.

When she came out of the airport, Hale was still waiting for her outside.

"Hello, Mr. Angelo," Hale greeted her.

She nodded and cautiously asked, "Was Drake mad at me?"

Hale didn't answer her but looked towards the car. Angelo suddenly realized something. She stared at Hale rather than looking towards the car.

"He's… in the car?" Angelo felt like she couldn't breathe.

"Yes."

Hearing that, Angelo stumbled, almost fell.

Just then, the door opened from inside. Angelo was afraid when she saw Drake.

She wasn't afraid of him so much when she was Angeline, but why was it like that when she switched into Angelo?

She thought about it, and there was only one reason: she sneaked out of the home.

"Get in the car," said Drake.

Angelo did as he said.

"Safety belt," warned Drake and glanced at her.

Angelo fastened the safety belt.

"Where did you go?" asked Drake.

Angelo answered honestly, "France."

Then there was silence. Angelo peeked at Drake, feeling that he wasn't angry.

Until they got home, Drake didn't say anything more, not even ask why she suddenly went to France.

Just as Angelo got out of the car, she heard a scold, "How dare you come back, Angelo?"
