Chapter 824 - 149: Can You Help Me Or Not?

She hadn't heard this voice for a long time. Looking towards the direction of the voice, she saw Zoey.

Zoey went to school before. She lived at school and didn't come home often. Now she came back for a holiday. She then learned that Corrine couldn't sleep well or eat well because of Angelo. And Corrine even said that Angelo was more like her blood grandchild than them.

"Hello, sister," Angelo greeted her. She wondered if Zoey had hatred with her that she was like seeing an enemy every time she saw her.

"Shut up! You are just a bastard, don't think…."

Zoey didn't find Drake in the car until she got nearer, so she swallowed the words she was about to say.

"Oh, you're back, brother," said Zoey.

But Drake looked at Angelo and said, "Go to see grandma."

Angelo nodded and turned to leave.

Zoey wanted to leave with Angelo but was stopped by Drake.

"It seems that you didn't learn anything good in this school but behaved rudely."

"No, brother, I just…."

Drake didn't give Zoey a chance to explain, "I'll change a school for your next term." After that, he closed the door. The car turned and drove out of the house.

Zoey stood there for a while. Finally, she stomped with tears in her eyes.

Angelo went to see Corrine and was relieved to learn that she would go somewhere else in a few days. Then she needn't worry about Corrine if she disappeared again.

When she exited from Corrine's room, she gently closed the door. The moment she turned, she found Zoey standing behind her. She was startled, thinking that Zoey came for trouble.

But Zoey just glanced at her and then walked up to knock on the door, "Grandma, Zoey comes to see you."

Seeing Zoey pushed the door to enter, Angelo finally noticed something. Zoey's eyes were red as if… she had cried?

Was she scared to cry by Drake?

Angelo shrugged and walked away. Not long after she got back to her room, Zoey came to her.

The girl standing at the door had no arrogance now, but she looked stubborn and tried to hold on to her last bit of dignity.

"What's the matter?"

Angelo found that her eyes were redder. Did she cry again?

"It's my fault…." Zoey uttered as though she was gnashing her teeth.

Angelo was puzzled, "Then?"

"Then…" Zoey looked at her with a flash of determination in her eyes, "Can you ask Drake not to transfer me to another school?"

"What?"

Angelo couldn't understand it. Did Zoey cry because Drake wanted to transfer her to another school?

"Can you help me or not?" Zoey didn't lower herself down even if she was asking for help.

Angelo felt it was funny. She leaned against the door and said, "It's Drake's decision. What can I do about it? Who dares to disobey his decision in this family?"

Tears welled up when Zoey heard that. Her watery eyes made her look so pathetic.

Angelo didn't expect her to cry. She stood straight and was anxious, "Are you all right?"

The age of her body was younger than Zoey, but she was much older than Zoey in her last life. To her, Zoey was just a spoiled girl, and there was no need to be serious with her.

"I don't want to transfer to another school."

Zoey sounded calm, but tears kept falling from her eyes.

Angelo felt guilty. Did she make her cry?

"Why?" she asked.

Zoey didn't answer, nor did she wipe her tears. She just stood there and wouldn't give up.

Angelo felt helpless. She turned to get a bag of tissue and handed it to Zoey.

Just now, she had some guesses. Seeing Zoey wipe her tears with the tissue, she asked, "Do you love someone at school?"

Zoey's face suddenly changed. Angelo knew she was right.

But Zoey tried to cover it, "Don't talk nonsense!"

"Then tell me why. How can I help you if you don't tell me why?"

Zoey lowered her head and kept silent. Angelo patted her head and said before she got angry, "I'll talk to Drake about it. But you have to promise not to trouble me for no reason."

Zoey looked up in delight, "Really?"

"Yeah," replied Angelo helplessly. Suddenly, she recalled the days she was Angela when she treated Ivy like this, giving her everything she wanted. However, she didn't expect it to end like that.

Drake came back in the evening. During the dinner, Zoey kept making eyes at Angelo, who pretended to see nothing.

After dinner, when Zoey thought Angelo fooled her, she saw Angelo entered Drake's study, where she had never been to.

Zoey walked to the door of the study. But because of the good soundproof effect, she couldn't hear anything inside.

In the study, Angelo suddenly regretted agreeing to help Zoey. She had forgotten that she had just made a mistake, and she wasn't sure if she would be forgiven.

Since she agreed to help, she could only have a try, "I heard you are going to transfer Zoey to another school, are you?"

"She told you about it?" asked Drake without looking up.

"Yeah," Angelo thought about it before continuing, "Well, maybe it's not a good time to transfer. You know, she can't adapt to the new school, it will be a waste of time."

"She can't be Thorne if she can't adapt to it," replied Drake indifferently, didn't seem to change his mind.

"Brother," Angelo had to walk up to him, crouch down and grab his arm, "Can you please not transfer schools for Zoey? She is just a little girl, and she doesn't know anyone in a new school. That's too bad."

With that, Angelo puffed up his cheeks in grief. She would doubt if Zoey was his sister if he didn't change his mind.

But Angelo didn't know what she was like in Drake's eyes. Her watery lips, pleading eyes, and the warmth from her hand on his arm all made his body start to burn.

He was going crazy!

By magic, "All right," Drake agreed.

Angelo was so surprised that she couldn't help opening her mouth, then it became a big smile.

"You are the best! Love you, Drake!"
