Chapter 843 - 168: One Room

When she got up after the nap, she heard from Hale that Angelo came back with blood all over her clothes. She was indeed startled. When she learned that it was not Angelo's blood and Drake was with Angelo, she was finally relieved.

After dinner, Drake received a call from Aiken, saying that McCoy had been rescued and was now out of danger.

Drake told the news to Angelo. She requested to go to the hospital to visit McCoy. It was late, but she insisted on going. Finally, Drake went with her.

Outside the ward, Angelo stood near the window, through which she saw the thick gauze around McCoy's neck.

Aiken said that McCoy had woke up just now but soon fell asleep.

Angelo was finally relieved when she saw that McCoy was all right. She leaned against the wall, looking quite tired.

Yes, she was tired, especially her mind.

"But there was one thing I think quite weird," said Aiken suddenly. Angelo looked at him at once.

"When I came with my brothers in the afternoon, I learned that the blood packs were not enough. So, I asked them to take some from another hospital. The surgery then could operate fluently," Aiken paused here, showing a complex look.

Angelo stared at him, feeling that there was more of the story. As she thought, Aiken continued, "But just now, I went to the warehouse and found that blood packs of all types were well stocked. Besides, the last recording of the warehouse was this morning. And the nurse, who said short of blood, disappeared."

At this time of the night, the corridors of the hospital were quiet. When Aiken finished his words, Angelo seemed to hear her heart beating.

According to the date Aiken mentioned, the blood packs were fully stocked this morning. So, there couldn't be short of blood.

Besides, McCoy was sent to the hospital this morning, and his blood was not a rare type. So, how could the hospital be short of usual blood packs?

"Nurse…"

The more Angelo thought about it, the more scared she was.

When she was Angela, Parker and Rachel wanted to take her heart for Ivy. It was against the law if she was not willing to do it.

Angelo could guess that they would send her to the hospital and pay the doctor to take her heart if she didn't destroy her heart in advance.

The Watts had become used to such things.

"Find the nurse," said Drake.

Aiken nodded and turned to leave.

Angelo was still leaning against the wall and thinking about what to do next.

Luckily, Stella was at the police station and was safe. She needn't worry about what the Watts family would do to her.

Seeing Angelo losing in thought, Drake knew how much she cared about the matters of the Watts family. But also, he sensed something strange. Was Angelo close to McCoy?

She insisted on coming here to see him at such a late time, not for the truth but just worried about him.

From her words and actions, Drake could tell that she was concerned about him, just for this person, not anything else.

Thinking about that, Drake was kind of jealous.

The truth was, he didn't know the soul inside the body of Angelo had known McCoy for more than twenty years.

Angelo didn't seem to leave, Drake had to comfort her, "I've arranged people here. He won't be hurt. Let's go home."

Angelo, however, was still worried but didn't think Drake should be here accompanying her, "You go back, brother. I can stay here myself."

With that, she looked at the ward again but didn't notice that Drake didn't look happy.

"You can do nothing here," Drake still tried to persuade her even if he was jealous and angry.

He knew how much pressure Angelo kept in her heart. And he also knew that Angelo had been trying her best to handle everything.

He knew that when she held his neck and wouldn't let him go when she cried silently and when she mumbled.

Drake thought he could help Angelo secretly, but it was the first time he sensed her determination to win her belongings back.

"No. I can ask him who attempted to kill him when he wakes up," disagreed Angelo. When she looked at Drake, she found that he was indeed not happy.

Helplessly, Angelo let out a weak cry, "Brother…" looking quite aggrieved.

Although Drake was unhappy, he still tried to persuade her, "Go back with me. We can come here tomorrow."

That gave Angelo more nerve, but she didn't dare to offend him too much.

After thinking about it for a while, her eyes suddenly lit up. She grabbed Drake's hand and said, "Drake, let's go get a room."

***

There were many hotels around the hospital.

Somehow, Drake agreed with Angelo's suggestion. Even he wondered what was wrong with himself.

Angelo explained that they could get to the hospital soon if they lived near, also, they could take a good rest.

He thought he was crazy that he agreed with her.

Finally, they entered a hotel. One was a tall mature man with strong momentum, and the other was like a cute big boy.

Angelo put the ID card on the desk and said, "Check-in, please."

But the ID card was not hers but Drake's.

Angelo came out hastily and didn't take with her ID card. But Drake had used to put his cards in his car.

The receptionist was sleepy but soon became sober as she saw these two handsome men come in.

They looked familiar, and she finally figured out why when she saw Drake's ID card. It turned out they were Drake and Angelo.

After learning the identities of the two, the receptionist received them enthusiastically without hesitation, "Two presidential suites are available now. Do you want them, gentlemen?"

Angelo glanced at Drake and thought about it before saying, "No, thanks. One is okay."

One room?!

The receptionist was shocked when she heard that but maintained a calm face. Quickly, she checked in for them and then handed the room card to Angelo. With a smile, she said, "Your room is 2011. Good night!"
