Chapter 842 - 167: Are You Awake?

The nanny looked at the blood on the floor and gave a sad look.

"I was cleaning the kitchen when I heard a scream from Miss Stella. I hurried out and saw blood full of her hands. Also, there was a knife in her hand. And Mr. McCoy was lying on the ground, looking unconscious."

After hearing the whole story, Angelo breathed a sigh of relief.

Since Stella screamed, it meant that she wasn't the one who wanted to kill McCoy. She might have happened to see it.

As for the details of the incident, then, even Stella might not know. So, the only one who knew it might be McCoy. But he…

Angelo didn't want to imagine what he was like now. The police used the word "attempted murder," which could only show that McCoy was still alive then.

What if he couldn't survive and died?

Angelo gritted, trying to stop imagining. But sometimes, things didn't go as you wished. The more you wanted to stop thinking, the more you couldn't suppress it.

Finally, Angelo went back with the wish of McCoy to survive.

When she entered the door, she heard a scream from Hale. Then her arm was caught by someone.

It hurt. Angelo looked up in surprise and saw the serious face of Drake.

She lowered her head and saw the blood on her clothes. It must be from Stella when she hugged her.

"I'm fine. It's not my blood…" explained Angelo. Drake might look a little scary, but she could sense his concern.

Sure enough, Drake let go of her after hearing her explanation. But then, Angelo was startled by his move because he just lifted the bottom of her clothes, where there was the most blood.

Luckily, he withdrew his hand when he saw her fair skin. If he lifted the clothes a little bit higher, he would see the corset around her b.r.e.a.s.t. But he finally missed it.

Angelo dragged her clothes tightly for fear of Drake did anything else to her.

"You got it in the Watts family, did you?" Drake soon guessed the source of the blood.

Angelo nodded and felt quite heavy. But it suddenly occurred to her that the Ivy family might not let McCoy survive if they had planned to kill him to frame Stella. McCoy was in the hospital now, so…

Thinking of that, Angelo felt so weak in her legs. She stumbled and almost fell. Drake hurried to support her.

She looked up to say, "Brother, McCoy may be in danger now. If he's died, Stella won't be clear of suspicion." Angelo held Drake's sleeve and said out of order, looking quite anxious.

Drake led her to sit on the sofa and then made a call.

Aiken got the mission and went to the hospital with several guys.

Angelo was then relieved. With Drake's help, anyone who wanted to kill McCoy wouldn't succeed.

Angelo had lived for two lives but barely seen such bloody things. She had been trying to support herself and cover her scare, but now she just couldn't hold it anymore.

Her face was pale, even her lips. The blood smell on her clothes made her feel sick. But she didn't eat breakfast this morning, so she couldn't vomit anything but feel uncomfortable.

Beside her, Drake stared at her for a long time, very worried.

"Angelo," he called her in a gentle voice.

Angelo couldn't see or think clearly. She looked at her with her eyes half-closed.

Next, Drake bent down to hold her up. The familiar fragrance on her covered the blood smell. Angelo held his neck and lay his head on his shoulder.

Like a lovely cat, Angelo was so obedient and cute now, making Drake's heart soft.

Near them, Hale watched Drake holding Angelo to her room. The picture was so loving. But then he reminded himself that they were brothers.

Gently, Drake lay Angelo on the bed. But her arms were still holding him and wouldn't let go.

"Drake…" mumbled Angelo, closing her eyes. But then, tears fell from her eyes.

Since she came back to life, the most she wanted to do was revenge.

But when she saw the blood scene in the Watts family, she suddenly realized that she was not quite strong.

She would never be as cruel as the Ivy family.

When Angelo woke up, it was already dark.

It was so dark in the room that she couldn't see anything. Just as she was about to turn her body, she felt a hand on her waist and held her.

Angelo froze there. After her eyes got used to the dark, she recognized the man holding her. It was Drake.

She was so nervous that she almost forgot how to breathe, and she just looked at her with her big eyes.

Drake was still sleeping. Angelo didn't dare to move a bit.

A few minutes later, Angelo was certain that it was her room. She was relieved. Luckily, she didn't get into the wrong room again.

"Are you awake?" Drake's voice suddenly sounded.

Angelo recovered and looked at Drake. Their eyes met. Finally, she smiled, "Yeah. Why are you in my room?"

Drake didn't answer her but get off the bed. "Clean yourself and come for dinner." After saying that, he left the room.

Angelo sat up and rubbed her head. Then the vague picture before she fell asleep came up: she was holding Drake's neck and wouldn't let him go; Drake couldn't do anything about her and could only stay here.

Bang!

She patted her forehead and felt regretful.

Why did she hold Drake? And they slept in the same bed. She wondered if Drake found that she was a girl.

She checked her clothes. There was nothing weird except the wrinkles after sleeping.

She might not be discovered. Angelo comforted herself. Drake wouldn't be as calm as just now if he found it.

Getting off the bed, Angelo changed her clothes. While washing her face, her stomach kept growling. Indeed, she was hungry.

At the dining room, Corrine asked her what happened in the Watts family as soon as she saw her coming.

Angelo didn't want to bother her and said, "I'm fine. They have done something bad. I believe the police will find it out."

"That's good," relieved Corrine.
