Chapter 887 - 212: Who Was The Man?

After a long day in the evening, Angelo told Cindy about what happened in the day, saying that she didn't think Christina was rebarbative as before.

"But Angeline…" Cindy disagreed with her. She hesitated to say, "Christina is different from before, but she is with Mr. Thorne every day. Do you want to make friends with your rival in love?"

Cindy's words stunned Angelo, and it took a while for her to come back.

"How do you know they meet every day?"

"Her assistant said that. You have been working with Christina these days, so we chat a lot."

Cindy looked at Angelo cautiously while talking and noticed that Angelo's face looked weird.

Angeline still loves Drake. She thought. So, she hurried to comfort Angelo, "Don't overthink, Angeline. A wealthy and handsome man like Drake must have seen all kinds of women. He couldn't love a changeable woman like Christina. He's not blind, isn't he?"

However, what Angelo focused on was, "Has Drake… seen a lot of women?"

Cindy quieted down, didn't know how to answer her.

"If you love Drake, why do you break off the engagement with him?" asked Cindy, confused.

Angelo suddenly recovered, "I have never liked him before, never!"

The Thorne house.

Just as Drake got home, he sneezed.

Hale was surprised, "Drake, it's colder now. Do you get a cold?"

"No."

Drake knew her health condition, and he usually didn't get sick.

"Is someone cursing Drake?" said Zoey, getting down from the upstairs. Obediently, she said, "I have to go to a classmate's party. Can I go out for a few days, Drake?"

"Go. Remember to call to report your safety."

Since the kidnapping, Zoey told Drake about her leaving every time. As the only daughter of the Thorne, she felt the sweetness of family caring for the first time.

Drake got back to the study. As usual, he asked about Angelo's whereabouts. As before, the news he got was "can't find him."

Angelo seemed to disappear from the world that Adams couldn't find her even though they tried all the means.

"Someone must be helping Angelo avoid our research. Miss Christina said that Angelo might have left France, or there couldn't be any clue about him."

Aiken reported, standing beside. Drake thought for a while. Finally, he pinched his eyebrows and murmured, "Maybe I should ask Angeline."

Angeline might be the only person who could reach Angelo.

"Miss Angeline is off tomorrow. Shall we visit her?"

"All right."

To show his sincerity and get reliable news, Drake thought he'd better go to Angeline himself.

***

Angelo slept till noon. Her face was kind of bloated. Luckily, she was off today and didn't need to think about how to get it down.

When the doorbell rang, Angelo thought Cindy came. While opening the door, she said, "Are you forgetting the key again?"

However, standing outside was Drake and Aiken.

Angelo stayed and had an impulse to shut the door off.

"Excuse me, Miss Angeline. I want to ask you something about Angelo. Are you available now?"

Hearing the word "Angelo," Angelo started to worry about being exposed. Subconsciously, she said, "I've told you. I don't know where my brother is."

"You know!" Drake suddenly uttered with inquiry in her eyes.

Angelo's heart almost jumped out, and she felt he might see her through.

"I…" Angelo to deny it when another voice sounded, "What a coincidence! You are here, Mr. Thorne!"

McCoy suddenly came from the back with a file in his hand.

Enemies are encountered often. The last time when Drake asked Angeline about Angelo, McCoy interrupted them. This time, it was McCoy again.

"How come you are here?" Angelo looked at McCoy, confused. McCoy entered the room and asked, "I want to talk with you about something. Are you available now?"

"Yeah?"

Angelo hesitated to look at Drake, feeling guilty.

McCoy looked at Drake and said, "You've broken off your engagement to Angeline. Now you come to her. Don't you care about her feelings?"

Drake moved his eyes from Angelo and lay on McCoy. When their eyes met, it seemed like a war in silence. Finally, McCoy seemed to give in because he looked away first.

"If you don't want to say now, I'll wait."

After saying that, Drake turned to leave.

"Goodbye!" said Aiken. Then he followed Drake up.

When Drake disappeared from Angelo's sight, Angelo finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then she thought of another trouble in the house.

"Go ahead. What do you want to talk about?"

For Angelo, facing McCoy was more relaxed than meeting Drake because she didn't need to hide so many things from McCoy.

"Look at this."

McCoy put away his casual look and put the file in front of Angelo.

Angelo opened the cover to check and then stayed there.

"This is…"

"Remember the hype between you and Clarence and the slander of you are gay?" McCoy reminded her in time.

How could Angelo forget it? The cyber-violence was so violent that she would get mad without her abundant living experience.

"Well, it seems that I don't need to remind you." McCoy continued, "Christina is the one behind all those things. I didn't plan to tell you because I didn't want to affect your mood. After all, it would be best if you worked with her. But I didn't expect that you are closer to her. So, I have to remind you in case you're hurt by her again."

McCoy's words were quite sincere, but Angelo didn't seem to hear him. All her attention was on another thing in the file.

Christina's rapping was because of Drake. He had asked a man to find out the person behind the cyber-violence and teach him or her a lesson. Then the man traced back to Christina and got her. When he received Drake's order that did not hurt her, he left Christina outside alone. Then it ended as a disaster.

"Who was the man?" asked Angelo.

McCoy shook his head, "I don't know his name. I only know that he just came from abroad and is close to Drake."
