Chapter 888 - 213: It Won't Take You Much Time

Palmer!

A name came to Angeline's mind at once.

He was close to Drake, and he just came back from abroad.

Angeline recalled the details. Suddenly, she remembered that Palmer had come to her when gossips about her and Clarence were full of the internet, but later, however, Drake came and left with him.

Did everything happen at that time?

Oh, Gosh! Who else could take Christina out of her house except for Palmer?

The new movie was on air at Christmas and won a big score. Later, the team arranged a meeting with the fans.

At the meeting, Angeline and Christina had a happy interaction, which won the fans' hail.

When the meeting finished, the two walked out together.

"Long time no see, Miss Watts!"

A familiar voice sounded nearby.

Angeline stayed and turned back in surprise.

"Pal… Palmer! What are you doing here?"

Then, she saw a familiar figure near the door.

"Mr. Thorne."

"Drake!" Christina's voice sounded excited.

Drake stopped in front of Angeline, "I can take you home, Miss Angeline."

"Thanks for your kindness. But my assistant will do her job well," replied Angeline calmly.

Then, she turned to Palmer. A hint of complexity flashed across her eyes, "I want to ask you something. Can we have a minute?"

"Me?"

Palmer turned to look at Angeline and then at Drake, quite confused.

Angeline nodded, "Yeah. How about the parking lot? It won't take you much time."

Drake was still in a daze for being refused, and his face didn't look well. Seeing him like that, Palmer agreed and walked to the parking lot with Angeline.

"You know, Mr. Thorne is here, Christina. Why don't you go to him but come here?"

In the parking lot, Christina and her assistant sneaked behind Angeline.

"Angeline must have something dirty with that man. If I find it, I'll kick her out of the game forever," replied Christina calmly. At that time, she turned her phone to the video set.

Angeline and Palmer slowed their steps. The parking lot was so spacious that a slight sound could be magnified several times.

"What do you want to know, Miss Watts?"

Angeline looked down at the ground and took a deep breath. "Did you take Christina out of her house and leave her outside… that's why she suffered…"

While speaking, Angeline clenched her fist and then looked at Palmer with a complicated look.

She had been trying to ask him, but he had been on the move. Surprisingly, she didn't expect to meet him here.

Behind a car, Christina heard Angeline clearly. Shocked, she couldn't help lowering her phone and facing the camera to the ground. She just forgot she was shooting.

"Christina…"

The assistant lowered her voice to call Christina, worrying about her. Christina, however, still looked in the direction of Angeline and Palmer.

"Yeah," Palmer admitted honestly.

Angeline's eyes started to lose concentration, and her breath became a little disoriented. She didn't know what to do.

When McCoy told her about it, she had doubted whether it was Palmer. Now since she heard the answer in person, she just couldn't accept it.

"But I…"

Palmer tried to explain when he heard a hasty series of footsteps.

Christina walked out from the back of the car and strode to Palmer. Her eyes were red with tears. Desperately, she grabbed Palmer's collar.

"It's you!"

Her voice was so depressing.

Angeline was shocked. She didn't expect Christina to be here. From Christina's appearance, she must have heard their talk.

"Calm down, Christina."

The assistant hurried up, trying to pull Christina away. However, Christina seemed to have lost her mind, just seizing Palmer's collar and wouldn't let it go. Hatred was full of her eyes.

Angeline stayed for a second before coming to herself. Then she walked up to help to separate the two people.

"You knew it, did you, Angeline?"

"You knew it. That's why you approach me. Trying to laugh at me at the end, do you?"

Tears fell from Christina's eyes.

It was the first time Angeline saw Christina crying. She stayed, didn't know how to answer.

She had never had that thought. But now, under such a condition, her explanation might make things worse.

"It's my fault," said Palmer, pulling Christina's concentration back.

Christina's eyes were red with hate that she just wanted to kill Palmer right now. It was him making her suffer!

"You won't die at ease! I'll make you pay!"

"I'm sorry."

Angeline didn't know why she said that, but she just did.

Christina stayed, then said hoarsely, "You were with him!"

"I…"

"What's going on?"

Before Angeline explained, Drake's voice sounded behind her.

"Drake…"

Christina seemed to see her life-saving straw and stumbled into Drake's arms, sobbing for him.

Palmer stood up, bowing his head, looking as if he would take any suffering. Seeing that, Drake had an answer in mind. Also, he was sorry for Christina.

When Christina faked the news about Angelo and Clarence, she planned to teach her a lesson but didn't expect things to end like that.

Angeline saw Drake raise his arms and hold Christina. That tender look was so familiar to her.

She then came to feel feelings of disappointment.

In the evening, Angeline was lying on the couch and eating fruit when McCoy called.

"Hello?"

"Are you available this evening? How about having dinner together?"

McCoy's voice sounds calm as usual.

Angeline didn't want to go out, so she refused at once, "Sorry. I don't want to go out."

McCoy seemed to have prepared for this answer. After a short silence, he asked, "Don't you want to know what happened to Drake?"

Angeline was alert. She couldn't help thinking about Drake's look these days. He looked quite tired. There was a deep circle around his eyes. Obviously, he had not been having a good rest for a long time.

"No." Angeline denied after some hesitation. Considering her identity and Drake's attitude towards her, she didn't want to be involved with Drake.

McCoy smiled, "Really? Oh, whatever. I'll test the address. You can choose to come or not."

"Ding!"

It was the alert of a new message. Angeline tried to ignore it and kept focusing her eyes on the screen. But somehow, the images on the screen gradually became Drake.
