Chapter 277 - The Scum Is Moral

Cheng Sheng knew, since he had touched Luo Shi's memories, then one of the two children is Luo Shi. However, he witnessed both children died. Then… who is Luo Shi all of them have seen and interacted with? Could Luo Shi be also a transmigrator like him? However, Luo Shi's actions were natural.

After some time, the child with a bleeding head walked in a direction, and then Cheng Sheng saw a thatched house appeared in their sight. 

The bigger child immediately brought the sickly child to the thatched house and opened it. Luckily, there was no one around, but there was a small fire and something was being cooked. The owner of the house wasn't around, probably left to procure something, which became convenient for these two children. 

The bigger child placed the sickly child near the fire to warm him up. Slowly, Cheng sheng watched the sickly child's face regained color and his brows moved, his expression now looked relaxed. So, the sickly child has just fainted. However, the other child – 

Cheng Sheng turned and watched the bigger child silently stared at the sickly child before he moved and took a bowl and a spoon, before he opened the pot and took some food to feed the sickly child. This child – he thought as he watched the bigger child fed the sickly child. – should have died. 

Cheng Sheng trusts his intuition. The bigger child should have died back there. But, right now, the bigger child looked more stronger than the sickly child. How did the bigger child suddenly become alive? His eyes narrowed as he watched the children's interaction. No, scratch that. Only the bigger child is busying around. After he fed the sickly child, the bigger child ate the remaining food in the bowl without scruple. 

"Ming Ye owed you his life, and he had repaid it. Now, I owe you my life, and I just repaid it by saving you who is on the brink of death." The bigger child spoke even if he knew the sickly child would not respond to him. 

Cheng Sheng's eyes widened in shock as his pupils constricted. What did he just hear?! The bigger child is Ming Ye?! No, no. Ming Ye has already died?! Then, who is this person that occupied Ming Ye's body?! Who is the real 'Ming Ye'?! No matter how much he asked himself, the answers are all on 'Ming Ye'. Yes. The sickly child is Luo Shi. He unintentionally killed the original Ming Ye because of grudge over food, which let 'Ming Ye' possess the original Ming Ye's body. 

"Should I leave?" Cheng Sheng heard 'Ming Ye' asked himself in a low voice while watching the sickly Luo Shi who is still unconscious. However, before Cheng Sheng could react, he saw Ming Ye washed the bowl and the spoon before placing it where they were before. Then, he brought Luo Shi, whose condition turned better, outside the thatched house. 

Cheng Sheng immediately followed the two and watched them, no, only Ming Ye, braved the cold snow until they found an abandoned house. They went inside and Ming Ye placed Luo Shi on the wooden bed before he looked around to make a fire. 

Cheng Sheng's heart immediately thudded in fear. Is Ming Ye going to burn Luo Shi along with the house? However, he immediately shook the thought off his head. He isn't stupid. Just because Ming Ye became a demonic cultivator, he wouldn't be prejudiced with the Ming Ye in Luo Shi's memories.

"You're pitiful." Ming Ye said after he brought Luo Shi beside the fire when he heard Luo Shi coughed. "Fine. I will save you, help you, so that this time, you will owe me your life." He told the sleeping Luo Shi. 

Cheng Sheng's heart skipped a beat before he felt it ached after he heard Ming Ye's words. His eyes reddened and his nose soured before his tears fell. He can't help but feel sad. In the future, Luo Shi really has repaid Ming Ye with his life. So, this is the truth. This is Luo Shi's answer. 

He closed his eyes as he sat on the bed and silently watched the two children snuggling by the fire. Suddenly, the scene changed and they grew up. They lived as thieves before they entered the Youxiwang Sect to escape the people pursuing them to arrest them. The person in charge of the recruitment noticed Ming Ye's and Luo Shi's aptitudes and he paid for the foods the two youths stole before he took them with him back to the Youxiwang Sect. 

Ming Ye and Luo Shi lived as fellow disciples. Their relationship and days are peaceful, but only on the surface. Every night, Luo Shi would wake up and stood beside Ming Ye's bed with his hand raised. A knife on his hand. 

Luo Shi is very vigilant against Ming Ye. He thought the Ming Ye before him is still the same Ming Ye that bullied him before, stealing his foods to the point of making him starved to death. He is wary of him, and even more wary after he woke up and found Ming Ye saved him from death from hunger. Ming Ye even took care of him until he was back to his full health. He even protected him from other orphans that bullied him before. And, he even accompanied him to Youxiwang Sect to become a disciple. 

Luo Shi is full of distrust towards this Ming Ye that has suddenly changed. Thus, he tried again and again to kill Ming Ye who is unguarded on his sleep. However, after the knife descended, just as the tip of the knife touched Ming Ye's skin, Luo Shi's hand would tremble and then freeze. His conscience can't let him do it. Thus, Ming Ye could wake up when the dawn break. 

However, after Luo Shi failed to take Ming Ye's life and go back to sleep, Ming Ye's eyes would open and his head turns to stare at Luo Shi's frail back. Cheng Sheng thought time and time again Ming Ye would snap and kill Luo Shi. It was obvious Ming Ye is more decisive than Luo Shi. However, Ming Ye broke Cheng Sheng's expectations by returning to sleep, even openly facing Luo Shi's direction. 

Cheng Sheng actually had thought that Ming Ye had broken through Luo Shi's memories and went to put an act before Cheng Sheng who is searching through Luo Shi's memories. However, Cheng Sheng is a god. He knew if someone broke through his defenses as he searched Luo Shi's memories. 

After Cheng Sheng proved his guess wrong, his heart just ached more. He felt more distressed. Since he could see that Ming Ye's interactions towards Luo Shiint he past, up until now, are sincere, despite Ming Ye is a demonic cultivator hiding under the original Ming Ye's skin. 

Why? This is the question Cheng Sheng wanted for Ming Ye to answer. Why would Ming Ye fall in love with Luo Shi, when he just wanted for Luo Shi to owe him a life? However, Cheng Sheng knew that even he could answer that question.

However, Fei Yin repaid him by saving him, and it resulted in Fei Yin losing his memories. This made Cheng Sheng love Fei Yin more, he couldn't extricate himself from it. And he doesn't want to. 

Even if their future is uncertain, and right now looked bleak, but Cheng Sheng would never give up.
