11 Ch. 8 Opening Battle

After finish our 3 months of holiday training, we're ready as hot as hell. Yesterday are the last day Raph-chan and the others stay at my house. Before they're going back home, they gave Luc-chan the fee that they promise to pay. They gave more than we've promising. Moreover, all of them pay a dozen of golden coins. We can't accept that much. Since they truly showed their sincerity grateful towards Luc-chan's lesson for 3 months, Luc-chan gives them a box of rare recovery potions for each one of them. He said that, it will be helpful for them if they are in a crucial situation plus, that rare recovery potion can be used on some equipment. It supports to make the equipment more resistance to some second class magic.

I have now entered the main gate of H.A.C.  Students come to school normally. President Mila still arrived earlier than everyone, and she greets every student that arrived at here. Looking at President Mila, she seems different. She's kind, energetic girl, lovely, delicate and her body also great too. Well, I can say that she has an idol body which she's hot, she's taller, she has a pair of blue eyes, browns straight hair and, her breasts almost reach an F cup, her light green skin, her slim waist, it really suits her name. Huhu, I feel sympathy for myself. What's more, bothering the guys always stares at her. Like I can't be like her someday when I grow up!!! With her cheerful voice" Good Morning every."  She's different compared to the others in her same league. All of them seem scary.

Forget about that, I'm now on my way to the registration counter. It seems like Raph-chan already register her name in solo battle which was displayed on the board. Layla and Seren both of them participate in the battle together with their party. Such a shame, I can't battle with them since I'm registering on a solo battle. Well, after gone registering I go to the battle stadium. Raph-chan followed me since she's waiting for me registering at the counter just now.

"Hey Raph-chan."

"Yes?"

"Regarding the notice we got on the other day, which battle will the top ten Kamiryuu candidates participate?"

"Hmm, I'm not pretty sure too. Because from what I heard about them, they'll only participate in solo battle. While other than them, could freely choose any kind of battle."

"Is that so?"

"By the way, according to the rule, we're not been able to challenge Kamiryuu in the first round. Because it'll be unfair for the lower rank like Yiryuu and Sanryuu rank."

"So, how it was supposed to be?"

"The rule says that anyone who've beaten an Eiryuu rank, is qualified enough to challenge one of the Kamiryu or anyone who've been able to pass through the semi-final. That's why they set up a system that gives chances to all students."

"So, that's mean even Yiryuu rank participator could challenge a Kamiryuu rank. There's a big difference extent between them if the Yiryuu rank manages to pass at semi-final because we never know the opponent is the same prime with Eiryuu or not."

"That's why, we had this lvl. The school organizer will be the one who arranges our opponent according to our level."

"How will we know who's our opponent by then?"

"I wanted to know that too, lets go to the preparation room. I'm sure they had put on the list of participation and the time."

"Alright. But, how do they judge a party battle? If it was the same system they use on party battle, isn't it unfair for them?"

"Don't worry about that. Their system is totally various from a solo battle. They can't challenge Kamiryuu rank but they had a chance to battle with first-class Eiryuu rank part. They sure are intense opponents since they'll involve teamwork. If they manage to the final they'll be promoted according to their performance individually. The party also will be displayed on the rank board and that'll be only top twenty."

"Ahh, I see. That's mean the Kamiryuu rank student didn't participate in any party?"

"I rather say not all of them participating in party battle, the second-class Kamiryuu usually joined the party battle. While the first-class Kamiryuu like President Mila and the others could only participating in the solo battle."

"Interesting. We might have an opportunity to battle with the top ten Kamiryuu." I said it with my high expectations of passion.

"I pray for that to happen. But we also might coincidently meet on the battlefield."

"Errrr….I hope I didn't meet you since you're my best friend. Plus, you've been stronger than before. I partially don't want to lose to you either win against you. Let's pray both of us didn't meet each other. Hehehhe."

"hmmm I'm okay with it. Because I also want to know who'll be the winner if both of us battling."

"Whatever you say. Let's hurry up to the preparation room."

We arrived in front of the preparation room door. I swallowed my saliva as we're getting nervous to open the door. There might be many powerful rivals. Raph-chan slowly opens the door, and we then enter the room. The room is quite massive. I can't say it looks like a room, rather this is somehow looked like a hall. Many participators are getting prepare for their match. From the left corner to the right corner, all of them are getting ready and warm themselves. I can feel their readiness for battle. Layla and the others are here too. The same goes to maniac queen. They seem to be on a meeting. Well, that anxious Raph-chan and me looking for a place where we can get ready too. We found an empty place beside president Mila. Ehhhhhhh!!!!

"Pre…pre..president Mila!!!"

"Oh, Hey there. Are you also join solo battle? Well, nice to meet you."

"errr,…..er… yes I am joining the solo battle." I was nervous. It's president Mila I was talking to.

Raph-chan is beside me. She's so calm and greet president Mila the top 1 Kamiryuu Rank. It seems President Mila didn't have some companions here. Is she by herself? Maybe she likes to be alone sometimes.

"Good luck with your battle soon. I hope you can show your best performance out there and be promoted."

"Okay!" we both responded at the same time.

Then President Mila does her own things while Raph-chan and I sit on the ground and look at the list.

"Lyliaaaa!!!"

"Yes? What is it?"

"Your opponent in the first round is….."

"Hmm?"

"Mario Touga!!!!"

"Ehhh!!! Let me see."

"You're so lucky Lylia. I am jealous of you."

"He is one of the hottest guy in our school isn't it?"

"Yes! Oh my god, you're going to battling with him. This is a rare chance you know. He might fall for you kyaaa!!!"

"Stop kidding me. I'm just curious about his status  right now."

"Well, er ermm. A little bit I know about him. He's a Nanaryuu rank the same as you. But the thing is, he has more battle experience than you. If I'm not mistaken, he had 43 match in his league, 30 win,7 lose,13 rematch."

"Whoa, that's more than Seren's match."

"Of course, moreover his rank in Nanaryuu was top 5.Mario got his titled the Prince of Battle. He's not an easy opponent you see. Mario is more experienced in battling with many kinds of people. Even though he is a wolfmen. He's Hanzo's big brother you know that."

"Yup I know that. "

"ahhhh, you're lucky…."

"I see. This is perfect. I'll beat that top 5 Nanaryuu rank and hold the rank. Gonna beat the Eiryuu after that. I'm fired upppp!!!!!"

"hmmm, good luck to you. I just want to remind you, Mario is not an easy type of fighter. His strength is incredible too."

"Anyway, who's this creepy guy called Batiste Zenon?"

"He's Zet Zenon little brother."

"Ehhh, Zet? You mean the top 3 Kamiryuu , Zet?"

"Yes!"

"Whoa, he might be strong."

"Nope…I could win against him easily. You see he is just a newbie in Nanaryu rank. I'll take that rank for sure in the first round since my last match with you still remained me a Goryuu rank."

"Ehh? You still remember that heheheh. Anyways, you're pretty convinced about that."

"Of course. I've watched his match before. He still needs some tough training. He plays the tank fighter role. His specialty is his hardened body. I can say it is hard as the platinum steel. But, when it comes to speed he's no match for me. I'll find out his weakness soon in the match."

"Whoa, you sound like you already know about your opponent Raph-chan. That's amazing. That's why I don't want to meet you in this battle."

"Hehe…"

While we are still waiting, an announcement was reported. They said the first participate will have to be ready on the battle trek before the match started. While the second participator will wait for their turn in some corner which is near to the battlefield enter way. The first participant has been announced, and they already enter the battlefield. My turn in this match is still far as it was number 67 out of 110. Raph-chan will have her match in the 10th after the 1st match. She's so lucky she can battle earlier. 30 minutes have passed, and they announce the arrival of the students and teachers and invite them to enter the stadium. Their applause and their excitement of the Rank Event tournament already filled up the stadium and the battlefield.

They're now inviting the H.A.C participator of the tournament to show up on the battlefield as the opening of the competition. Apparently, it means us. We were invited to show up on the battlefield. Raph-chan and I feel excited as we walk together with the other participant. President Mila looks calmed and always shows a gentle smile on her face. We're now at the wide battlefield where we are in the audience eye. A total of 9,345 students attended our competition.Whoa, this is a thrilling scene. Many eyes will stare at the battle later I guess. As usual, this is not my first time joining this rank event. I have participated in this rank event 2 times. Guess what, I win the matches and that's when I got promoted to Goryuu rank.

But this year is a little different, participators are now available to challenge the Kamiryuu. But not for Yiryuu, Sanryu,Goryuu or even Nanaryuu. The Kamiryuu only accept challenge by Eiryuu. After the master ceremony gives a few speeches of the opening, without wasting time he displays the rule as the magic screen appears in the middle of the battle field.

RULE

I] THE MATCH WILL ONLY START WHEN THE PARTICIPANT Receives A SIGNAL TO START.

II] PARTICIPANTS WHO ARRIVE LATE IN THE BATTLEFIELD WITHIN 3 MINUTES WILL BE COUNT AS DISQUALIFIED. THE PARTICIPANT WHO IS IN THE BATTLEFIELD WILL ENTER NEXT ROUND WITHOUT BATTLING IN THE FIRST ROUND AS IT HAS BEEN COUNTED AS WINNER.

III]  ANY VIOLENT ACTION THAT COULD KILL A PARTICIPANT OR THE AUDIENCE WILL BE STOP IMMEDIATELY.

IV] PARTICIPANT WHO HAD LOST TWO TIMES WILL BE NOT ENTERING THE NEXT ROUND.

V] CHALLENGE ON KAMIRYUU STUDENT ONLY GIVEN TO THOSE WHO HAD DEFEAT AN EIRYUU OR THE EIRYUU RANK CAN DIRECTLY CHALLENGE THEM.

VI] PARTICIPANTS CAN'T GET ANY HELP ACTION FROM THE AUDIENCE OR ANYTHING THAT AGAINST THE RULE OF H.A.C .

VII] WINNER OF THE TOURNAMENT BETWEEN KAMIRYUU AND OTHER LEAGUE ARE SEPARATED.

VIII] PARTICIPANT CAN SURRENDER THE MATCH IF THEY DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE THE MATCH.

X] THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE WINNER IN EVERY MATCH.

XI] BREAK THE RULES AND YOU WILL GET EXPELLED.

Woohoo, that's our usual rule. There's a new change of the rule over there. It is not like before. It's great after all. We might meet each other in the next round or not, it all depends on fate. Then, the screen disappears as all the participants are already boosted. We go back to the preparation room and get prepared. I was nervous even though my match is still far away. Actually, I'm nervous for the first match. Before I forgot, the battle field was divided into 6 blocks. Three of them are for the solo match while the other three are for party match. I believe that Seren and Layla already warm up their body on the other side. Now, what I'm nervous about is the first match. It is Reus-kun versus Oga Tatsuya. This is a battle between mages. Feel a long time not seeing Reus-kun since the holiday. I guess I'll greet Reus-kun after this match.

On the battlefield, the two participants are already waiting for the match started as they stretch up their bodies. I'm so exciting and the same goes for Raph-chan. They are both now on a wide and flat field. A calm breeze and relaxing atmosphere for Reus and Oga. The audience's eyes are on them. The atmosphere of the stadium became louder as they saw the status displayed on the screen

"Heehh, it's been a long time I see Reus-kun. He must be really strong now. I could see by his eyes. Reus-kun become more confident now hehehe." Raph-chan said.

"Yea, I think so too. He always gets scared every time he entered the match. But I'm astonished that he really enter this solo tournament by himself. He sure changed a lot." i replied.

"Whuuu, can't wait to see their battle." Said Raph-chan who's really excited.

"But Raph-chan, Oga-kun is our senior right?"

"Yes, Reus-kun might have a difficult time dealing with him." Explained Raph-chan.

"Hmm, I heard that he was once joined the Red Cerberus team before. It's a Reingard Hero Capital Army organization. But, not anymore. Maybe he quit from the team because they're not adopted a student joining them."

"Ehh? Whoa, I thought it was just a rumor."

"Well, I think we should just focus on the match."

"Yesszaaaa."

"Oga-kun's stats are quite higher than Reus-kun."

"Yeah, I didn't think the mage will end easily. "

"Mages war huh?"

"That's Reus-kun new status when we win as a team against your team back then Raph-chan."

"Hee, I also didn't believe you win that match all by yourself back then in the physical exam."

"I already risk my rank back then you know. I was team up with Sanryuu Rank. At first, I thought I've no chances against you and Seren plus the assassin wolfmen."

"You mean Hanzo-san right. Speaking of him, I think he's also battling in the first match. I saw his name on the notice just now. But, I think he's on the other block. Better watch Reus-kun's match. Don't worry about Hanzo-san."

"Yeah you're right."

After the judge give them a starting signal. " Battttleeeeee sttarrrrrttttt!!!!!"    the match has begun. Right after the match started,  Reus-kun attack Oga-kun fiercely by his flame shot magic. It seems like he doesn't want to take extremely in the early game. Oga-kun running over to avoid the attack made by Reus-kun. Judging by Oga-kun appearance, he's a succubus. A mage succubus I guess. He has a white skin like a dead body's color, big muscles body, he also has fangs showed up while he is smiling, he is tall, white hair and he wore a hoodie. He's movement is quite weird since he didn't land any single hit but keep deflecting the flame shot. That's not bad in the early match I guess for him.

Reus-kun keep shooting him but none a single blast landed on Oga. The battlefield that was flooded with the arrival of many students makes a loud noisy voice and it is shaking the battlefield as they're cheering for them and the others block. Oga-kun finally shows a movement where he'll use his magic. He is then shooting a white glowing aura spear as he throws his hand like he throws a thousand of spear. The spears were shot directly to Reus-kun. But, Reus-kun notices that already, and he activates his Golden Colosseum without chanting a long spell like before.

"WHATTTT!!! Reus-kun can chants that building things in a short chanted spell?"

"That's amazing right Lylia."

Not like before, he had to chant a long spell to create Golden Colosseum. Golden Colosseum is a spell that protects ones by appearing as a building itself like a gigantic Colosseum. Oga-kun seems can't do anything by then because Reus-kun shielded himself in a Colosseum. Oga-kun kneeled quickly and draws off a small circle spell on the ground. Then he chants a spell. His hand does several signs while his mouth chanting a spell word.

Then, a white shining bright appear on the circle spell that Oga-kun just made and something showed up. It was a huge destroyer flower[HYDANGREA]. As expected from our senior, he also didn't give any chances for Reus-kun to keep protecting himself in that gigantic Colosseum. The huge white flower looks huge from our view. It is strong and looks poisoners as the Hidangrea lure out liquids from its leaves and the roots. The Hidangrea move itself as it does as Oga-kun ordered. The roots strike directly towards the Colosseum but it doesn't move the gigantic Colosseum yet. Reus-kun who always thinking to keep attack outside starting his chanted spell already. He raises his hand up to the air and begins to chant.

"ehhhhh!!!!! Isn't that was Raph-chan's spell???!!!"

"Amazing! Reus-kun can chant two spells in one time already. He even can use the same magic as I am."

That was a long chanted spell from Reus because it required someone with high class to make it short. However, seeing Reus-kun's condition, he seems quite fast in decided something. Then, a hundred of flame arrows fall down from the sky. It looks like a rainy meteor falling to the earth. Oga-kun notice that and cover himself under the enormous Hydangrea. The Hydangrea are really hard. It repels the flame arrow which is landed on its body using the long roots of it's body. That's unexpected. I thought Oga-kun was going to surrender.

Well, he hasn't shown any special magic yet. Suddenly, another white glowing shining under the Hydangrea and a white barrier was appeared as it covering Oga-kun. That's not a regular barrier. It's a legendary barrier which repels any physical attack. they called it [ HOLY ARMOR ]. But don't mistaken for thinking it's just a shield that defends ones from everywhere. That legendary Holy Armor uses its own defends to attack the opponent. Meaning to say, Oga-kun not only protected himself from the Meteor Shower but at the same time he can attack his opponent. This is a troublesome for Reus-kun. His Meteor Shower is now useless against Oga-kun. What an amazing trump card you hide there Oga-kun. Reus stop casting the magic and kneel to the ground. He also drew something on the ground and does the same hand sign!!!! What is this?!!  He copied the same move and some spell in the middle of the match. Red shining light glowing from Reus-kun's as he cast a spell. Oga-kun noticed Reus-kun motion and he attack the Colosseum hardly.

Strike by strike, the Colosseum begins to shaking on the ground. Reus-kun shouts "[ HYDANGREA ]!!!"

What the hell has just happened? Reus summoned the same type of magic as his opponent had. A huge red Hydangrea appears in front of Reus-kun. It was red as blood, a huge body and the leaves release a poisoners liquid and the roots move itself. Oga-kun was shocked by Reus-kun magic. He also doesn't have any idea about Reus-kun magic. How can he do that by copying other's magic? The red Hydangrea attacks Oga-kun but Oga-kun already equip his Holy ARMOR.

So, the attacks are not affected Oga-kun but the red Hydangrea manages to slow down Oga-kun for a moment. At that time Reus-kun again shows some action that he chanted a spell which the same as Oga-kun had. Again, all the audience was shocked by Reus-kun, he's now in a real fight with Oga-kun. This match is absolutely an epic one for the opening. Reus-kun shouts out [ HOLY ARMOUR ]!!!!  The whole stadium scream crazily as they're astonished by their match. Red barrier surrounds Reus-kun and now he walks toward Oga-kun. Oga-kun seems triggered by Reus-kun. Now, they seem to be talking to each other while the Hydangrea didn't make any move.

"I think I meet a new rival again." Said Oga to Reus.

"ahhh, you've some incredible magic over there too." Reus replied to him.

"Benedict Reus is your name right?" Oga asked.

"You better remember the name of your rival when you've been defeated." answered back by the little Reus.

"How arrogance you little Reus. Anyways, I was surprised you're able to copycat me exactly."

"Oh yeah, this is just my basic battle style. I haven't showed you the real one."Reus confidently said this.

"What?! Well, this is a perfect time, I've always wondered what if they're two Holy Armor fighting each other because it's rare to fight someone who has the same magic I had. "

"Let's try here right now!"

"Don't regret this you human."

"Succubus are really annoying."

They are charging into each other. And here is the thing, they are protected by the barrier itself and the barrier is the one they used to attack each other. I can say that it is a shield war. They bump into each other but none of them make a touch. They both at the same time take a back step and use their Hydangrea fighting each other. The huge white Hydangrea move abnormally attacking the huge red Hydangrea. The poison tears and fall to the ground. While the ground shows the effect if one ever affected by the poison. It was like an acid. It breaks through the ground little by little. Oga-kun has no other way but have to use more magic. Then Oga-kun cast another high class magic. It was [ PRIME MELANCHOLY SPEARS ]. it appears a thousand of white transparent spears in the air which all of the spears are targeting at Reus-kun.

"Wait wait wait!!! That's only a professional hero can do this grand high class magic. He's different from last year !!" I was stunned by countless spears in the air by Oga-kun.

"Oga-kun really strong. I guess the rumors about him were true."Raph-chan also shocked even though she's a higher rank than Oga-kun but didn't expect this.

Reus-kun also stunned by the number of spears that targeting on him in the air. He was speechless. But, then he laughed.

"Oii, why are you laughing? Don't you see this is the highest magic I had reach!"

"No no no, I'm not laughing because of that. But, this is great. You really force me into this…"

Reus-kun also does the same spell and magic. It is the exact amount of mana as Reus-kun use. He shouts "[ PRIME MELANCHOLY SPEARS ] !!!" That's a crazy action from Reus-kun. He's entirely different from the day we had a match together. He could copy the exact magic creates by his opponent! It appears a countless of red glowing transparent spears in the air too which is targeting Oga-kun. It was an endless battle. Even Oga-kun shocked with his eye opened widely. Because that's copycat Reus-kun has provoked the anger of  Oga-kun, Oga-kun moved first without hesitation. He controls his spears attacking Reus-kun.

The same goes for Reus-kun. Oga-kun also make his white Hydangrea into the war between spears. The same goes to Reus-kun's red Hydangrea. It was a battle of countless spears. Each of the spears slashing each other. The sounds of slashing spears make the battlefield more fired up. However, not along time after that Reus-kun already breathing hard as he was exhausted of mana. The magic he control was using a lot of his mana. And that's the opposite of Oga-kun. Oga still has some left mana. It seems like Reus can't hold any longer, the red spears begin to weaken in speed attack, even the red Hydangrea almost beaten by Oga-kun's white Hydangrea.  The audience are getting nervous and keep cheering for them.

"Ohhh no, Reus seems to be dehydrated of mana…" Raph-chan said it out of her pity emotions.

"Nope, you're mistaken Raph-chan. This is where Reus-kun will get seriously .."  I said this because I see that sharp eye of Reus-kun. He had his will to defeat his opponent.

"Ehhh, but it looks like Reus-kun's spear and the big flower getting weaken."

"You might see it like that, but...He's already decided on how he will beat a competitive opponent like this from the start."

"How the...… are you sure about that? Take a look around you, they're yelling for Oga-kun." Raph-chan said this because she thought Reus didn't have a chance.

"Hmmm,…no I learn this from Luc-chan. When ones are intentionally weakened her or his attack, he or she at that time are the one you need to be careful. They might end up showing something unpredictable action. Look at Reus-kun, his stand-style looks like he was waiting for something…something at the right time."

"Really?"

Reus takes one step back while he was controlling the red spears and one of the white spear accidentally got passing through the crowd of slashing spears. Now it go towards Reus-kun. Oga-kun smile as he thought that spears will strike Reus-kun. Even the judges almost want to stop this hazardous match. They think it might kill the little innocent Reus-kun. But what happened next is more unexpected. Reus-kun already waited for this to happen. He purposely makes one of Oga-kun's spears pass through and let it charging towards himself. Reus-kun does that while concentrating on Oga-kun action. When one of the white spear charging towards Reus-kun, Reus-kun on the ground with her feet apart and grab his right punch as he lower his body. With an extraordinary speed, Reus-kun disappear as he left a fade away image.

The white spears missed the chance to hit Reus-kun. Out of all time, Reus-kun chooses the right moment where the surprised Oga-kun is now unarmed. Reus-kun ragingly appears behind Oga-kun as he already chanted lightning blue spell. Then he launched with all his strength as soon as he arrived behind Oga-kun.  "[ ROYAL THUNDERSTRUCK ] !!!"   A blue thunder strikes up from Reus-kun's hand as he launched it to Oga-kun. The battlefield was filled with the brightness of blue color thunder over the field. Oga-kun received great damage because Holy Armor only repels physical attack but not the electrical. Oga get electric shock and was faint to the ground.

While the spears and the Hydangrea also fade away as they were receiving more damage than Oga-kun gets. Reus seems to use all his magic to go for the finishing blow just now. Everyone was stunned for a second by the great shaking thunder by Reus-kun and make a loud noise again. Everyone cheers for Reus-kun now. Raph-chan also stunned by that because they were variable magic that Reus-kun just showed on the battlefield.

"So, this is Reus-kun levels now...that technique only can be used by a certain people depending on their natural magic that inherited from their old generation. But, Reus-kun,…he copied every magic skill that he just saw and now he can even use Oga-kun high class magic…..he ….he should not be in Goryuu rank…he could be in Eiryuu rank if he was this strong already.." Raph-chan was feared of Reus-kun's power but at the same time she also admires him as a strong opponent.

"Ye..yes I see. That's means, we're not the only one who's getting stronger here." I was speechless and stunned.

Then the first match ended as Reus defeated Oga-kun by his own magic. Oga-kun was being picked up by the H.A.C paramedics. He still mad because of the insane match. He wanted a rematch but that was the end of the result. Reus-kun ignore him and walk to the preparation room. The next match will begin not long after that. But, me and Raphtalia rushed to the restroom where Reus-kun was. We saw him from afar and running to him. He seems like he filled up his water in the glass just now. He notices us. His serious expression changes quickly as he seeing both of us. What the .. oh my, he becomes his usual cute appearance again.

"Ahhhh, if it isn't Raphtalia-san and Lylia-san." He said this as he waving a hand at us.

"Wouu, that's amazing Reus-kun. I thought you've changed to be bad boy just now." I said it bluntly. aahhaah

"Ehhh??"Reus didn't understand.

"Anyways, you're amazing out there just now Reus-kun."

"Is that so ahhaha. Thank you very much Lylia-san. It was all thanks to the holiday training with my uncle Lorian."

"Did you mean the head of Reingard Capital Mage the General Lorian Benedict?"

"Yes. He was the one who forced me to train so hard. He did also teach me some useful tips during the training."
