146 Culling the Flock

A few weeks had gone by since Draig's success in raiding the Valley of it's weapons as well as his attack and enslavement of the Spliced faction, during this time he had those who he had enslaved finish fixing up his Dorm which he had now claimed as his own personal estate.

'It seems it is time for them to begin their next line of work' chuckled Draig as he sipped his tea.

The Feratu during this time had found a nice balance between his old ways and the life he wanted to live, he recognized that his cruelty would save him more than it would damn him and thus he decided he would see to it that this ridiculous faction that he hadn't started was disbanded while receiving the greatest benefit from it.

The idea he had in mind was a coliseum of sorts where he would set these ignorant mortals against one another in a series of death matches. He would spread the word and gather Deva from all over the school and make them pay a fee in order to watch, he was certain that there would be many who would enjoy watching these fools kill one another under the guise of training. He would even toss in the new slaves he had gotten in order to keep the festivities going as long as possible and start betting rings which he would have Ginji and Aoi manage.

Draig raised his glass to his lips once again only to find that it had run empty, raising his glass to the girl at the side he was able to once again return to enjoying his Drink as he watched his subordinates work and dig a large hole that would act as the arena while others were busy building stands for his would be audience. Souta sat at his side wondering what his master had in mind and couldn't help but ask.

"Lord, this one is curious to your intent behind building this arena. . ." stated Souta hoping to gain a bit of insight into his Master's actions.

"It is simple young Souta, isn't it far too troublesome to sort the weak from those who truly took my words to heart. I will simply sort them by the results of a competition that will allow them to bring their strength to the very limits and it will allow these slaves to earn their freedom as well should they win to the very end" answerd Draig causing Souta to nod as this made sense though his attitude seemed doubtful of the idea.

"However at the moment I have a very special task for you" continued Draig causing Souta to look towards the Feratu curiously.

"What is it my Lord" asked Souta as he was ready to carry out Draig's command.

"I need you to spread the word around about what we will be doing here, we shall use this as an opportunity to gain funds in order to further strengthen ourselves and to claim a few more resources as I will have another task for you depending on how many of the other Deva we can get to gather" explained Draig as he sent Souta off.

Souta nodded in determination as he found himself enthralled in the idea of Draig's planning even forgetting his earlier doubts showcasing his simplicity.

Draig meanwhile stood up and went to check on Ginji and see if he had made any progress with making a sword in order for him to channel the Founder's Avatar.

Following the sound of clanging Draig found the Grave Forger doing his task like a man given new life, the energy he showed while reforging the swords was incredible and Draig couldn't help but admire it as he walked into the small smithy that had been built and looked at the fresh swords that were hung up on one side.

"How is my sword coming along" asked Draig surprising Ginji causing the flaming piece of metal to go flying towards the Feratu but he didn't bat an eye as he caught it and the metal sizzled against his bare skin.

Ginji watched the action with a shiver reminding himself that it would be bad for him to get on Draig's bad side.

"Be careful next time" hissed Draig as he finally dropped the hot metal and looked at his blistered palm.

He had noticed that his regeneration had been coming to slow the longer he remained in this world which would prove to be a burden in the future if he didn't correct some of his carelessness.

"Y-yeah, sorry. I have prepared a few swords over there, try them until you find the appropriate one" answered Ginji as he couldn't help but catch a glimpse of Draig's palm.

He considered himself lucky that the Vampire didn't consider him a threat.

Draig ignored Ginji's gaze in preference of testing the swords he had made as he transformed which kicked his regeneration into gear and allowed his blistered skin to heal back to it's normal condition.

Draig grasped the first of the Swords it's jagged green edge giving it a brutal appearance for a katana, ignoring its features he began channeling the Founder's avatar only to watch the sword crack in his grasp causing Ginji to gawk.

'Pathetic. . .' came the voice before Draig grabbed another one only for the same thing to happen.

Ginji at the side couldn't believe his precious works were being destroyed just by the power of an Avatar, if he had to be honest he would cast Draig out of his smithy but then again the Feratu wasn't someone he could afford to offend. This was besides the fact Draig was the reason he was able to get all of these materials.

Soon Draig had cycled through all of the swords Ginji had hung up and they had ended up in the same state of breaking.

'I won't use one of these flimsy swords. . . have the human forge me a proper vessel from the homeland' grunted the Founder as he struggled to continue fighting against the laws of the World of Deva.

"Ginji. . . Forge me a proper sword. We will create it under the same circumstances as the Thousand Fold blade" stated Draig as he looked at the broken blades laying on the ground.

Ginji heard the words and felt himself beginning to get excited until he remembered something.

"I don't have any corpses to use as the fuel. . . ." answered Ginji as he couldn't help but find himself disappointed.

"Does the age of the corpse matter" asked Draig causing Ginji to look at him curiously.

"I mean can a fesh corpse be used for the forging" elaborated Draig.

"It is possible but I haven't done it before so I am uncertain about the results it would show" started Ginji as he seemed to be contemplating the idea.

"There is one more thing Ginji, we will be making a different type of sword this time. It will be a straight blade with two edges. It will be able to contain more materials however I still wish for you to fold the blade as if we were making a Katana" stated Draig causing Ginji to become confused.

"Why would you want such a cumbersome weapon" asked Ginji as the Deva who used swords would choose to have a weapon that was lighter in order to be able to move quicker.

"Just do as he says" ordered Draig causing Ginji to become more surprised as the Founder in Draig's avatar looked down at Ginji menacingly.

'An Avatar requesting a sword. . . I have rarely heard of such a situation' thought the Grave forger as he nodded and picked up the blades that had been broken previously.

"I will find you some appropriate fuel" called Draig ominously as he left the Smithy leaving Ginji to reforging the broken swords once again.
