9 School in Session

Draig hit the ground again but used his hands to launch himself into the air avoiding a critical blow to his head but he soon realized his mistake when a fist appeared from a rift and sent him plummeting towards the waiting Zarra.

"Kid it's been a week and your still falling for such amateur tactics" called Zarra as he punted Draig into the wall of the farm

It was just as Zarra had said, him and Draig had been doing this for a week already and without sleep at that. The excuse being that in a life or death situation if he was deep inside one of the other planes being hunted he wouldn't have time to sleep.

It was something he hadn't understood at first but he finally knew where these other races came from. The way Zarra had explained it was there were four planes that were known, the Holy Plane where light races came from such as elves, the Mortal Plane where the normal races came from, the Nether Plane where dark races resided, and finally the Human Plane where they currently were.

The history Zarra told him was splotchy at best, the response was that history wouldn't help him survive.

"It's not like I can fight against something like that easily" muttered Draig

"Now brat go over what you have learned today" said Zarra leaning on his staff

"Leveling does not depend what stage your system is at, to survive more than brute strength is needed" said Draig but was interrupted

"Unless?" asked Zarra

"Unless you have absolute strength" answered Draig glaring at Zarra accusingly

"Now continue" said Zarra with a cheeky smile, he would be lying if he said he wasn't having fun.

'This is how it should've been all along' thought Zarra with a distant look

"Now seriously what else have you learned" asked Zarra

"I need to become stronger if I wish to match the other Vampire's and undead" answered Draig

"Do you know why your doing this training now" asked Zarra with a serious look

"For the Planes competition" responded Draig with a pondering look

"What is it leech brat" asked Zarra

"Well I have been thinking why haven't we been training my skills" said Draig with an unsure tone

"Simple, first focus on the hand to hand portion because most people at your level are amateur with their spells and skills anyways in the way that they cast them. They are slow and therefore the most efficient way to handle them is to simply use your fists" explained Zarra

Draig nodded his head, it made sense but it would be far more efficient to use his skills in his opinion.

Somewhat sensing his thoughts Zarra smirked before speaking.

"Or you can try and slip them in while we spar" said Zarra looking at Draig condescendingly

Draig rose to the taunt despite how obvious it was, and tried using his Dark magic conjuring a pitiful flame.

"But if you use magic so will I" said Zarra as a pillar of earth rose and hit Draig directly in the chest causing a sickening crunch to ring out.

Draig laid on his back unable to move, he thought he was getting a little bit better until this happened.

"Go rest up brat, it's been a week and we will start again tomorrow" ordered Zarra before leaving through his rift.

'Damn Dark mage' thought Draig as he rose from the ground and drank one of his potions feeling the damage from the hit healing quickly.

Given the brief little reprieve from the onslaught he left to the forbidden zone to see how things were coming along.

Draig went to the mountain where he had planned to set up shop and was surprised to see that the races he had subjugated had clustered around the mountains in their own little encampments but looking into the distance at the guilds entrance to the Forbidden zone he saw groups of Guilders wandering into the forbidden zone searching through the abandoned villages of the monsters only finding novelties. Smirking he went to the Dwarfs to learn a bit of forging, he had failed to practice let alone bond the anvil.

He needed armor and weapons for his plans to come to fruition, he had not forgotten the rage he felt at having to flee just because he had a chance encounter and discovered a treasure. Thinking of that Draig remembered he still hadn't selected a skill for his advancement.

Opening the system he viewed his options.

'Select one of the following'

'Boosted body(passive), Hypnosis, Illusion, Mist form, Coven master(passive)'

Draig stared at his options unsure of what to choose.
