55 Someone to Fear pt 2

Draig watched the countless pagans be crushed under the terrifying might of his summon, the spectators on his side were frozen in awe at the display of power but couldn't find it in them to cheer. Such a slaughter left a horrible feeling in their chest, the bloodthirstiness they had been building up seemed to vanish with the pagans.

Draig looked at them noticing the change, he shook his head in disappointment. He couldn't understand the way their minds worked, he had eliminated most of the ones who had come to invade and purge them but they couldn't show a glimpse of joy at their destruction. Draig merely landed to the ground causing all the eyes to gather on him.

"Are you feeling regret? Disappointment even? Perhaps you are feeling that what I had done is wrong?" Stated Draig running his eyes over the crowd as his aura began to press down on these mortals and the coven alike.

"These pagans had come here to purge you, what I have just done to them they wished to do to you down to the last remnant. This was not intended to be a war, no, this was meant to be a genocide from the very beginning. Now tell me do you still feel that my way of handling this was wrong?" continued Draig as he rose his hand causing the blood and essence of these pagans to come condensing in front of him until it formed a bead.

The crowd looked at the bead in wonder, they were aware of what that bead could mean if Draig consumed it. It could mean an unlimited number of abilities that they would never have the chance to learn would be available to them.

"I ask those who find my actions contemptible to leave now, I no longer wish to have any connection to you and therefore you will have no connection to me, my forces, or resources." commanded Draigas more blood and essence continued to come to him from far away but this was condensing to his cane but the cane in question didn't seem to grow in mass as it should.

Draig ignored the streams of blood and essence as his cane turned from crimson to black as more and more blood condensed but even this was ignored as he stared out at the crowd.

The soldiers and guilders were hesitant to leave, they wanted to gain the benefits that came with standing under Draig's banner but they couldn't stand the way he had handled the pagans. Finally one guilder stood up and decided to leave.

"Everyone who wishes to leave come with me, the Guild leaders are dead. Even if we can no longer gain benefits with him we can go and pick the remains of the Guild Association for benefits" called the single Guilder but his words which had inspired so many had soon came back to sting him and those who had stood to follow him.

"Oh there's my leech brat" came Zarra's voice as he sent a look of disdain towards the group intending to leave.

"What are you doing here, I was under the impression you had something important to do" asked Draig but he could see the look that Zarra was sending the deserters.

"Well I have finished, I thought that since you were fighting a war on behalf of humanity you would need some supplies. In that regard I emptied all the resources the guild Association has in order to make sure you wouldn't lose a war of attrition." explained Zarra sending a frosty look towards the deserters once again.

The deserters who had based their courage on the thought of gaining the resources left by the guild association felt a rock begin weighing on their chest, they had already revealed themselves and their intentions. However the resources and benefits they had intended to gather were no longer there and they could no longer turn back.

"Lord Draig" started the apparent leader of the deserters.

"I am not your Lord anymore and you are not welcome to interfere or interact with anything that is related to me. Leave" commanded Draig causing the deserters to grit their teeth and glare murderously at the ring leader.

Draig ignored them and focused on the ring Zarra was holding.

"What is this" asked Draig in interest

"A Rift Ring, something I had developed awhile back but it is too exhausting to try construct them. This is one I had crafted for the top brass of the Guild Association but seeing as it no longer exists I think you should have it, everything I had gathered is in this ring. Take good care of it and make good use of it. I need to leave before she notices my presence" explained Zarra quickly as he disappeared.

Draig nodded in understanding, he knew that his mother wasn't one he could handle easily but even if he couldn't use his vampire abilities he had many more that would cause her trouble and with the bead he would have a back up plan.

Draig stashed the Bead and turned to his remaining troops with a cold smile he waved his cane and eliminated the Deserters, at least the one's who hadn't already left.

'Soon I can begin the next phase of my plan' thought Draig as he looked at the rifts in the sky.
