Chapter 16 - 16: Slimes Actually Hurt. . .

{Hmm. . . Well, Orion and I have leveled up once. I'm not too worried about giving our talent points out right now.}

[You both are level 5 right now correct?]

{Yep.}

[Alright, just keep leveling, and you will unlock a skill hopefully soon.]

{Will do!}

"So do you guys have levels, or something like that?" I asked Arialle.

"Hmm. . . Yeah we do actually, like I've got levels, but I'm not going to tell you until we are together more often." She said.

"Understandable." I stated.

{So, she told me they have levels, but that was it. Don't take offense to this, but why did you come with me if they already have levels?}

[Well they might have levels, but I can help you with your questions, with the store, with a few other things also.]

{Oh ok. . . Wait. . . Store?? What do you mean by the store??}

[Didn't I tell you about the store?]

[Oh. . . I'm sorry. I'll tell you about it when you lay down in a little bit.]

{Fine. . .}

"So after we get done eating, I feel like we need to get a move on it, and kill more slimes. Because we have only killed 10 slimes so far. I killed 15 with just Orion and I yesterday before it got dark out." I mentioned to her.

"Well, we do have at least another 2 hours worth of sun left. We could kill at least 6 more of them." She said.

"Alright then, let's finish eating then head back out, and kill more slimes." I mention to her while scarfing my food down. I looked over at Orion, and he already had his food ate.

We put out the campfire, then we headed back towards the slime spawn area. It didn't take long until we found a slime. Honestly, it was too easy to kill a single one. So after we destroyed that one, we went to look for a group of them. We just happened to find a group of them about 10 minutes later.

"Hey Arialle, you wanna help with this set, or do you want Orion and I to take care of them?" I asked.

"I'll let you two take care of them, I want to see how you guys do with multiple targets." She answered me.

"Alright, Orion, go blast one with your Wind Blade skill, and I'll take care of the other two of them." I told Orion.

So he went to the furthest one to the right of the group and blasted it with a single Wind Blade. The slime was startled for a moment, and while he was attacking that one, the other two went behind him. Once they were behind him, I slotted two arrows into my shortbow, and fired them right at the two of them. One arrow hit one to the left of Orion's backside, and the other arrow bȧrėly hit the one to the right side of his backside. After I hit them, the slimes started bouncing towards me. I notched a third arrow and fired it again. This arrow hit the one to the left directly in the center of it, and it exploded. The right slime just made it to me, and it jumped up and attacked itself to my arm. It started to hurt, I noticed that my skin started to disintegrate inside of the slime. It didn't stay on my arm for too long, once it fell off I jumped backwards, and notched a fourth arrow. Then I shot the arrow at the slime, and it hit it to the right side of its round shape. It hadn't died yet, but I knew it would only last one more arrow. Which I fired my fifth shot after it started hopping towards me again, and this time it hit it directly in the center of the slime. Once the arrow entered inside of it, it exploded. After that, I looked up to see Orion hit his slime before it exploded.

"Holy crap that hurt." I said while looking at my right arm.

"Yeah, those slimes can actually hurt you. They are not just some simple target that you can easily take out. Come over here, I'll patch up your wound." Arialle said while grinning.

"Yeah I noticed. . . Oh wow, we just killed a level 3 slime." I mentioned while walking over to Arialle.

"Yeah I know, you guys did really well. The highest level slimes is level 5, and then there is a King Slime that is level 8." She told me while patching up my arm.

"Thank you! A King Slime? Huh. . . Can't wait to fight it! How big is it?" I asked her after I thanked her for patching my arm up.

"Hahaha. . . Oh you will know once you see it." She said after she chuckled.

"Alright, well let's continue onwards then. We only have about an hour of daylight left." I told her.

"Then let's go!" She exclaimed.

So in the last hour we actually killed another 4 slimes, which in my opinion wasn't bad at all. One was a level 3, and the other three of them was level 2.

"Alright, do you know a good place to camp out for the night that way we don't get attacked?" I asked her.

"Yeah, let's head towards the wooded area." She pointed behind her to the small wooded area.

So we went straight over to the wooded area, and I went around and collected sticks for the campfire. After I had collected the sticks, I then placed them in our campfire spot she had cleared for us. I started the campfire, and then she brought out some fruits for us to snack on.

"Do you think Orion would want to try some fruit? She asked me.

"Umm. . . I don't know, let me ask him. Hey Orion, would you like to try some fruit?" I asked him once I looked down at him.

{{I can try some. If it is alright with Arialle.}}

"He said he could try some if it was alright with you." I then told her.

"Oh yeah, that is totally fine! Here try this apple." She said then cut up an apple, then threw it on the ground right in front of Orion.

Orion then sniff the apple, he moved his head back while turning his head sideways.

{{It smells weird.}}

"Hahaha. . . Just try it you chicken shit." I said after I laughed for a moment.

After I called him a chicken, he looked right at me, and then he looked at the apple. He then shot his head forwards, and gobbled the apple right up.

"Well??" I asked him.

"He liked it." I mentioned to Arialle.

"Awesome! Well, here is one for you also Arthrall." She said to me while handing over an apple.

"Thank you, after I eat this apple I'm going to lay down. I'll take the second watch if you want." I told her, then I started eating the apple.

"Yeah that is fine! I'll wake you up in about 6 hours." She told me while smiling.

"Alright, thanks." I said to her.

It didn't take me long to finish my apple, after that I looked at Orion, and scratched underneath his chin. Which he thoroughly enjoyed.

"Alright, I'm heading to bed now. Goodnight Arialle, and Goodnight Orion." I said to the both of them.

"Goodnight Arthrall." She said to me.
