Chapter 40 - One Quest Completed!!

Once I asked who the leader was, the girl I healed up first pointed at the dead guy on the ground.

"Oh. . . I'm so sorry. . ." I apologized to her.

"It is ok, he knew what would happen if he stayed here. What is it you want?" She asked.

"Nothing, I was just trying to figure out what happened here. Usually I just talk to the one in charge, but I can't do that now. You mind telling me what happened?" I asked her.

"Ahh. . . Gotcha. Well first off, I would like to thank you, because if you hadn't poured that potion down my throat, I would be just like him. Dead. Secondly, they came out of nowhere, they came out of the woods from all directions, and started attacking us. We didn't get to defend for very long before some of us started falling. Thankfully you guys came running out, and saved us." She told me.

"No problem! We were actually going around killing all the wolves, and we were already heading in this direction when we heard someone yelling in pain. Once we saw the devastation you all were in, we jumped right in to help out." I told her.

"Well thank you again! Where are you heading to now?" She asked me.

"Well, we are currently just running around the town at the moment, but once we are down with that, we are heading out to find the King Wolf and Druid that caused all of this. By the way, what is your name?" I asked her.

"Oh! I am Alice." She told me. "Well, I'm not sure about the King Wolf, but the Druid is in the mine located on the east side of town. If you keep going in that direction, you will reach the mine entrance." Alice then pointed to the east.

"Well thank you Alice for the info. Also, just to let you know, we are taking the wolves we killed with us." I told her.

"Oh no problem, I understand! If you want, you can take them all! You saved us, so it is all yours! What is your name?" She asked.

"Well thank you, and it is Arthrall!" I said.

"Well thank you again Arthrall, but I gotta go check on everyone." She said while waving at me.

"Hey Arialle, Alice said we can take all of the wolves here. So go ahead and pick them all up." I yelled to her.

"Got it!" She yelled back.

"By the way Titus, did you happen to see how many we killed by ourselves?" I asked him since he had just gotten to me.

"Well, I know I killed five of them, I watched you kill eight or ten of them, the townsfolk killed six of them, and I believe Arialle killed either six or seven of them."

"What does your quest say this time?" He asked.

"We only need one more pack of wolves killed for the quest to be done." I mentioned.

She then handed me the arrows I had shot earlier.

"By the way, 3 of your arrows were broken, like they were stepped on. I'm ȧssuming the wolves did it when we were fighting them." Arialle commented towards me.

"Thank you Arialle, and it is ok. I should be able to get more later. Alice told me where the mine is, and also where the Druid might be. According to her, the Druid is in the mine." I told them.

"Then we just might finish this by tonight. It is about 6 o'clock in the evening right now." Titus mentioned.

"Hopefully. . . I have a feeling that none of us will be sleeping tonight sadly. Orion, how are you holding up? I know that you are really tired just from earlier." I asked.

{{Actually, I'm already really tired. But if we take like an hour break once we reach the cave, then I should be fine.}} Orion commented wearily.

'What about you Onyx?'

{{Same with me. This is the first day that I've actually fought anything. So I'm really really tired. . .}} Onyx said weakly.

"Alright, Orion and Onyx are really tired. So we are going to have to take a break after we reach the cave. They both said they should be fine after an hour long break." I told them.

"True. . . Alright, let's go!" I said.

After that, we headed east, the same direction we were going earlier. We ran into two sets of two wolves. I had Arialle take care of them pretty quickly by herself. They were only level 8, so it was pretty easy for her. After she grabbed them, we heard a sound coming from the direction we were heading. Arialle instantly disappeared, Titus got ready to charge forwards, and I notched 4 arrows into my bow. Orion and Onyx were beside me just in case I needed some help. Five wolves then step out into the little clearing we were standing in. Arialle popped up behind two of them, and slashed with her weapons. Titus charged towards one of them, and started attacking it quite quickly. I fired my four arrows while using Multi-Barrage, I aimed at the two that were charging towards me. Sadly eight arrows ended up piercing them in the head, four arrows each. After that, Orion went to help Arialle, and Onyx went to help Titus.

"Oh wow. . . I didn't realize one of them was a Level 10. . ." I commented.

"There was a Level 10? Which one?" Arialle asked.

"I believe it was this different colored one." I told her.

"Huh. . ." She commented.

"Hey Onyx, thanks for the help by the way." Titus said to him.

All Onyx did was rub his head against Titus's leg as if to say you're welcome.

"Well, now all we have to do is kill the King Wolve, and the Druid." Arialle commented.

I went and grabbed my arrows while Arialle put the wolves into her ring. After she was done doing that, we continued our walk around the town. When we were walking for about a half hour, we heard people talking ahead of us.

"Shit. . . How the hell are we supposed to get past that King Wolf. We need to stop that druid!" Said someone.

"I don't know, but we need to hurry up and figure it out." Another person commented.

We walked around a building on the edge of town, and noticed a group of townsfolk talking to each other.

"You guys mentioned the King Wolf? Where is it?" I asked once we were close enough.

"Huh? Who is asking?" Said a tall dark skinned guy.

"Well for one, the group that has been going around, and killing most of the wolves near here. Secondly, the name is Arthrall, and my companions are Arialle, Titus, Orion, and Onyx." I commented.

"Sorry, it is just hard to trust anyone right now cause of that Druid. My name is Jack by the way." Jack commented.

"It is ok, so where is the King Wolf?" I asked again.

I took a look at where he was pointing, and I could see the entrance to the mine, while also seeing a big wolf's head.

"Holy shit! That thing is huge!" Titus exclaimed.

"Yeah it is, you sure you can handle it by yourself Arthrall?" Arialle asked me.

"Yeah I believe so. Just Orion, Onyx, and I need a slight rest before we go attack him." I commented.

"If you need a rest, there is an inn a little into town from this side. It is called, The Pigs Blanket." Jack commented.

". . ." I just stared at him with a blank face.

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing, just people really need to work on naming places better is all. . ." I commented.

"Hahaha. . . Yeah I know the feeling, but either way it is a place you can go rest at." He laughed.

"Alright, thanks!" I said to him while walking towards the direction he mentioned the inn was at.

Arialle, Titus, Orion, and Onyx were following right behind me. It didn't take too long to find the inn. Once inside, I saw a lady writing something at a counter.

"Hello there miss, I was wondering if I could get a room for about an hour or two." I said to her after walking up to the counter.

"You only want the room for an hour or two? I can just give you a key for now, as long as you bring it back to me once you are done for that time frame. No charge." She told me.

"Really? Alright thank you!" I told her.

"Oh it is no big deal, I kind of figured you are here helping us take care of the wolves, so I figured I would help out a little bit by giving rooms to the people who are fighting." She commented.

"Well again thank you! It is really helpful!" I exclaimed.

"Do you two also need a room?" She then asked Arialle and Titus.

"I don't. I'm just going to sit down on the couch over there, and figure out a way to fight that King Wolf if Arthrall can't beat it." Arialle told her.

"I'll sit down here with Arialle." Titus said.

"Alright, then here is your key! It is the third room on the right side upstairs." She told me while handing me a key.

"Thank you again!" I told her.

"No problem!" She mentioned.

"Alright, can one of you two come up, and wake me up in about two hours?" I asked Arialle and Titus.

"I can do that!" Titus said.

"Alright, thanks Titus." I commented.

I then walked up the stairs, and went to the third room on the right. I unlocked the door, and held it open for Orion and Onyx. After they went in, I went inside, and shut the door.

'Alright guys, we only got two hours to take a nap. So I would suggest we start sleeping!'

{{I agree, I'm so tired. . .}} Orion commented.

{{Same here, my legs feel like jelly. . . Whatever that is. . .}} Onyx said.

"Hahaha. . ." I started laughing.

'I'll explain it to you later Onyx, for now let's sleep.'

{{Agreed!}} They both said at the same time.

I got up onto the bed, and Orion and Onyx hopped on after me. Orion was the first to fall asleep, as he was extremely tired. It took Onyx about five minutes to start falling asleep, and I was talking to Zoe before I went to sleep.
