Chapter 50 - 50: Is that an egg??

"So, does anyone want to take a look at the door while we wait for the sleepy head to wake back up?" I asked.

"I mean, I can take a look at it, but I'm not sure of what I can do." Titus commented.

"Alrighty, then go look at it. I'll come up there with you." I told him.

"I'll stay here with Orion." Arialle mentioned.

"Thanks Arialle." I told her.

{Onyx, do you want to stay here with Orion, or go up with us?} I asked him.

{{I'll head up there with you, Orion is pretty boring since he's sleeping right now.}} He commented.

{Haha. . . Alright bud, just stay close to me.} I told him.

So, we walked around the center tunnel that the Roches created, and walked right up to the doorway. The doorway was actually quite huge, it was about 10 feet tall, and was about 20 wide. The doors on the inside of it though, looked pretty well made. We could tell the doors haven't been opened in a really long time. The doors also had engravings on it, depicting creatures, humans, demons, and looked like gods. The creatures were all fighting, but didn't show the reason why they were fighting.

{What is this?}

[Well, I'm not sure. Put your hand on it, that way I can see what exactly it is.]

{Alright. . .}

I walked up to it, and put my hand on what appeared to be a human.

[Hmm. . . That is interesting. . .]

{What is?}

[Well, this doorway was put into this world when you arrived here. I believe the System wanted you to find this. The problem is the system hasn't restarted yet. . .]

{What do you mea. . .}

[System's rebooting is now finished. It will now take a moment to look back at what the user has done since the System was down.]

{What??}

{Oh. . . Ok then.}

{Uh, what do I do. . . Do I just push it?}

[Yes, I do believe all you have to do is push it open.]

"Arthrall, you alright?" Titus asked.

"What? Oh, yeah I'm alright. Sorry about that, I got enthralled in the engravings on the door." I told him.

"Uh. . . Yeah, you did. You was just staring at the door for about five minutes actually." Titus told me.

"I was? I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed.

{I thought the System did everything very quickly!}

[Normally yes, but since it was offline, it hadn't had the time to change back to its time setting.]

"Everything alright with you two?" Arialle asked while walking over.

"Yeah, just I guess I was just staring at the door for a while. . ." I said while looking sad.

[[Arialle: Is everything alright?]]

[[Arthrall: Yes! I finally got my System working again. It literally took it five minutes to tell me everything I got for killing all of the beasts here.]]

[[Arialle: Oh ok. Do you want me to wake up Orion?]]

[[Arthrall: Yes please, I've got a surprise for all of you. . .]]

[[Arialle: Alrighty!]]

"Well, since we are about to head down the tunnel. I'm going to go and wake Orion up." Arialle commented.

She went back towards Orion, and started nudging him. It took a moment, until Orion looked up, and saw her looking at him. He turned his head around, and looked right at me. I motioned for him to come here. He got up, and started walking towards me with Arialle right next to him.

"So, we ready to head on down the tunnel to where Samone was at?" She asked us.

"Yeah, I believe we are ready." Titus then commented.

"Nah, let's stay up here for a moment." I then said.

"Why?" Arialle asked.

"Just wait and see." I said while smiling.

I walked to where the doors connected to each other. I put my hands on the edge of each door, then I turned towards them with a smile on my face. I then turned back, and started grunting at the door. Acting like it was a pain to open it.

"Arthrall, didn't you hear what Gondrax said, that door won't open." Titus told me.

I just continued grunting until finally, the door started to move a little bit. When it started moving, Arialle and Titus had the mouths agape, and their eyes huge. They were quite surprised by the fact the door actually moved.

It took me maybe 30 more seconds to open the door far enough to let us all through it.

I turned around to look at their faces. It was so comical, I started laughing immediately. I laughed for a little bit, to the point to where my sides started hurting.

"Just. . . Just how!?" Titus exclaimed.

"Indeed, how did you open a door that Gondrax couldn't even open." She asked me.

"I honestly don't know. I just felt like I could open it." Was all I told them.

[[Arialle: Is that what you was talking about as a surprise?]]

[[Arthrall: Yep, I guess the System is what put this Secret Chamber here.]]

[[Arialle: Secret Chamber?]]

[[Arthrall: Oh yeah, that is what it is called I guess.]]

[[Arialle: Oh alrighty.]]

"Shall we head in?" I asked them.

"Uh. . . sure. . ." Titus said, still with a confused look on his face.

So, I turned around, and started walking into the doorway. The moment I took a step in the doorway, torches started lighting up around the room. At first the torches went around the left side of the room, then it started going downhill like it was following the walkway.

"This is awesome!" I commented.

"The torches are powered by magic, but I can't tell how." Arialle commented right behind me.

Titus was just looking around the area, until he walked to the edge to look down.

"Guys, come look at this. . ." Titus commented without looking at us.

"What's up?" I asked him.

Arialle also went to the edge, and looked over.

"Just come here and look!" She exclaimed.

"Fine. . ." I said grumpily.

I went over to the edge to look down, what I saw blew my mind. There was a giant cube of rock down at the bottom of the cave hole. There was also the pathway that went up to where we were at. I also saw some fallen rocks right below us.

"Hmm. . . Not exactly a city. . ." I commented.

"That is true, I wonder why they thought it was an underground city. . ." Titus commented.

"Hmm. . ." Was all Arialle said.

I started walking in the direction the pathway took us. We kept following it downwards around the wall of the cave. From a distance I noticed some scribbles on the cube, but I couldn't read it from that far away. When we got to the end of the pathway, the stone cube stood about 15 feet tall, and 15 feet wide. I kept walking around the cube until I could see the writing again, but before I looked at it. I decided to look at the falling rocks. It looks like Samone had gotten through the wall, but not completely. Only the top portion had enough space for maybe Onyx to fit through it. After I looked at the wall, I turned around to the cube of rock. It had writing on it, the problem is, I couldn't understand it.

"Huh, I wonder what this stone means?" Arialle asked.

"No idea, I've never seen this language before." Titus then commented.

"Me neither." I said.

[Arthrall, walk up to the stone, and put your hand on it. It seems it is a message for you actually.]

{For me?? Uh. . . Ok. . .}

I walked up to the cude, and put my hand on it. The moment I did, the System started talking again.

[User, would you like the System to translate the message for you? Yes or No.]

{Yes.}

[Translating commencing.]

[Dear Arthrall, I know you are very confused at the moment about why this cube has a message on it for you. I will explain that now. The System was actually my creation, I had created it to make a world, and to inhabit that world. The problem is the System didn't just populate it. It created its own gods, demons, creatures, and of course the humans I wanted it to make. It also created other races, but I'm not going to get into that right now. I wanted this message to reach you, so I created this cube to go wherever you were. Inside this cube is something that will help you later on, but it won't be ready by the time you find it. I want you to take it, and keep it until the day it comes out of its shell. Once that happens, it will be yours, and yours alone. No one else can use it. I'm not going to tell you what it is, because you will find out sooner or later. Hopefully later. . . Anyways, you are going to be in his world for a long time. You will be facing things you've never faced before, but don't worry. You will have friends that will accompany you in your travels. You might be the first person to come to this world, but you won't be the last. On that note, just survive! You will be fine, and do great things! Sincerely, the Creator.]

After the message went through my head, the cube started shaking.

"What the fuċk is going on Arthrall? You touched it, now it is shaking like it is going to break." Titus exclaimed.

"I. . . I don't know. . ." Was all I could say.

The cube started shaking even more than before. When I was looking at the cube, I noticed a square shaped crack forming in the middle of it. It started coming out towards us, until it completely fell down right in front of us. Inside of the cube was a decently sized egg.

"An egg?" Arialle commented.

I walked closer to the egg, and it started to float right out of the cube. When it was right in front of me, I put my hands out, and it fell right into my hands. It was actually very light. It felt as light as a feather actually.

"It is indeed an egg. . ." I said.

"Why was there an egg inside of the weird cube?" Titus then commented.

"I honestly have no clue. . ." Was all I said.
